Diego wasn't the tiebreaker in a fair fight; he was just dead weight that allowed a mediocre team to skip ahead without breaking a sweat.

Your favorite influencer "proved himself" plenty of times when he actually needed to win and failed; he only took titles when he was handed a convincingly superior car. Even with a machine like that, he still lost the championship to Nico Rosberg, which tells you everything you need to know about his skill level. He's average. He just got incredibly lucky to sit in the best car ever made. It's easy to be a champion when everyone else does 90% of the work for you.

What are you even talking about? 95% of drivers in history would be proud to have lost to Nico Rosberg. He is a top-tier driver who secured 14 world titles—Michael Schumacher was neutralized by him, and Lewis Hamilton struggled against him too.

You speak about Nico Rosberg as if he were some mid-field filler. Nico Rosberg would beat 90% of today's grid.

I know you'll try to bring up that first season with Mark Webber, even though Nico Rosberg was actually superior that year; he just had a ridiculous amount of DNFs, which let Webber pull ahead in the points. But I don't care about mere point totals; I look at the full picture.

It is much like how I consider Fernando Alonso to be the best driver of this generation, even if statistical data might suggest otherwise for various reasons.

You almost nailed it 😁
The fact that Russell's Williams Racing pulled a DNF is basically why Mercedes-AMG lost their way...🤣

I wonder if he'd actually take a seat at Alpha Tauri if Kvyat moves on.

Kvyat is actually a decent driver when you consider that Mazepin is making it into F1.
Or even looking at the fact that Giovinazzi is staying in the sport.

Bottas is a serious driver. Extremely serious. It just so happens, by sheer coincidence, that he's racing against an alien.

How can you even argue with that?

Yeah, I don't get the Giovinazzi thing either. It's hard to argue Ferrari doesn't have any real young prospects left, because he definitely hasn't proven himself yet. 🤷
I'm not even sure if Mick Schumacher made the right call jumping into Haas. His stock might just tank after a season or two there, regardless of how much talent he has. If I were him, I’d probably stick around for one more year in F2.

Honestly, I don't get why everyone is so shocked when drivers switch teams. Look at Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull Racing. Once he moved to Ferrari, after that brief moment of hype and excitement, it became painfully obvious that the guy is, at best, slightly above average—nothing more. Even the Ferrari crew themselves have hinted that they'd have preferred having Fernando Alonso in the car during 2017 and 2018; they’d definitely be fighting for titles instead of sweating every time Vettel pulls a legendary spin off the track or makes some rookie mistake.

Well, then he definitely shouldn't have been crowned champion. ☕

That is an accurate assessment. Alonso would have secured the world championship in 2017 and 2018 because he is simply a higher-caliber driver than Vettel. Unfortunately, Alonso was stuck in a Ferrari that wasn't even remotely competitive compared to what it could have been, yet he still managed to fight for the title.

Naturally, Tibi will deny this, as per usual.

BTW

In all this chaos, nobody’s even noticed that Lewis hasn't posted a single thing on socials for days now.

I mean, if we want Lewis to actually head toward that GOAT status... he just needs that sudden, unexpected passing to finally overtake his idol Senna and become immortal.

I'm telling you, Ferrari really missed out with Alonso in 2017 and 2018. 😉
The issue was that Maurizio Arrivabene swore he wouldn't touch a Ferrari car again as long as he lived, and that was that. Alonso is a phenomenal driver, but his personality can be incredibly difficult to deal with.
As for Vettel? He's just Vettel... good chat, a little bit of luck with timing... boom.

Edit: People can deny it all they want. Over the last two years, every single one of Vettel's mistakes has been a rookie blunder. There isn't much left to overthink or analyze here; the situation is pretty obvious.

I think it’d be fair, regardless of how Russell's Sunday turns out, if we all collectively pile on Mercedes-Benz, the FIA, and Lujo. We shouldn't hold back on Bottas either.

The guys are dealing with double trouble, but who’s really looking at the small stuff?
Just when there was a little bit of reason to celebrate, it wouldn't be right for us to go and ruin the fun.🙂

Wait, wasn't I actually hinting at that very thing just yesterday? 🤔

I suppose you aren't really paying close enough attention.

"What are you even on??"

Same guy, same exact vibe, just two sentences later:
"Lewis Hamilton is just an average driver who happened to get lucky enough to sit in the best car ever built."

LOL.

My bad—totally missed that.

But honestly, you've built quite the reputation for talking nonsense, so I don't even bother reading your posts anymore.

Whatever.

Look, Sebastian Vettel isn't Pastor Maldonado; he didn't just stumble into a win or a title. Winning four championships in a row takes actual talent.

In 2010, he beat out Fernando Alonso right when everyone assumed Alonso would cruise to the title without breaking a sweat. That proves his skill, and no amount of armchair expert chatter is going to change that reality.

The Mercedes-Benz was easily the best car of the hybrid era. Ferrari got close, sure, but they were never actually better. Vettel never stood a chance with them, not to mention those questionable FIA decisions that seemed to always disadvantage Ferrari while favoring Mercedes-Benz.

After the race, Toto Wolff mentioned that Lewis is doing better, and if he ends up testing positive, he’ll still be driving in Abu Dhabi, so there's no need to worry 🙂

While I'd love to see Russell competing on a more standard track—not some weirdly shaped oval—I just hope they don't have to spend the entire night before qualifying adjusting his seat and pedals in the car...

I've actually exchanged a few messages with TBF on this subject, and while I can certainly understand why you might skip over my stuff, I find it a little hard to believe you'd skip over TBF's posts too. I mean, at least his contributions aren't complete nonsense, if you know what I mean.😁

Valtteri Bottas is looking pretty dominant in Free Practice 3 so far—he’s sitting four tenths ahead of George Russell, even after clipping that last corner. George managed a clean lap, but it just wasn't quite enough to close the gap.

15 minutes left on the clock
