The horror hit "[REC]" was easily one of the most acclaimed international films of 2007. It crushed it with critics and pulled in serious cash, too. In fact, it was such a massive success that Hollywood rushed out the remake—"Quarantine" just a year later. But the original creators didn't sit idle either; they jumped straight into making a sequel slated for release this year. We don't have much info on the project yet, other than the fact that the directing and writing duties are back in the hands of James Wan and Jordan Peele, with the rest of the crew (camera, editing, score) returning as well. We also know actress Manuela Velasco is reprising her role from the original. Plot details are still under wraps, and all we've got to go on are a teaser poster and two trailers. One might be a fake and tells you basically nothing, while the second one, which dropped recently, gives us a slightly better look and is honestly pretty atmospheric and creepy. Check it out for yourself at the link below...

But honestly, what’s even the point of starting a whole new thread when there’s basically zero actual info out there about a sequel? You could've just easily dropped this into the existing unit discussion thread... 🤷

Why would I? First off, they're two separate movies, and mixing them is just stupid—all the info gets buried in one massive thread. Plus, we actually have enough to go on for a standalone topic... posters, teasers, the cast... more details will drop soon enough, just like any other movie. 😉

And honestly... I couldn't even find the thread for the first movie... so, yeah... why not.🤷

Hey everyone, I haven't actually worked up the nerve to watch that movie yet, even though I absolutely love a good horror flick. Since you all have been saying how terrifying it is, I think I'm eventually going to have to face it.

I honestly have no idea what they’re planning to pull 28 weeks from now. Are they just going to let it spread? Or maybe they’ll finally roll in the SWAT teams. Just throw some sheep in there and watch them get torn apart... honestly, what a waste of time. If it turns out to be even half as intense as what happened in the first one, I guess I'll be somewhat satisfied. 😁

I’m really hoping they do an American remake of this new sequel. I honestly can't stand watching foreign films, especially when you have to deal with subtitles. I'd much rather just focus on the action 😁

The first one was solid, but like someone else mentioned earlier, what can they actually pull off without just repeating old ground? Though, since this one is styled like a found-footage documentary, who knows... maybe they'll find a way to make it feel fresh.

The first review was so incredible I could see it turning into an entire movie franchise. I honestly can't wait to watch it. I can already picture reviews happening in New York or even on a luxury cruise liner. The sky is the limit.

Are you telling me we might actually see a Rec spin-off set in space one day?
Like some kind of "Jason x" vibe?

Of course. We’re seeing a rise in recruitment. Recruitment for 2020. Recruitment for submarines. Even recruitment for a space station on Mars. If people decide to be smart about their careers, that is. Do you have any idea how much money a Police Academy 1-7 program can pull in? It's an absolute gold mine.

mmmhmmm... could be pretty sweet. I'm stoked.
The first one was a total masterpiece—honestly, I’m passing on any remake. Just ready for the sequel.

It's easily one of the best horror flicks I've seen in a long time.Ican't decide if it was just a fluke or if Spanish filmmakers are actually killing it lately.
The American quarantine was a total disaster. 👎

A new poster has surfaced over at IGN, accompanied by several fresh images. The most significant one is featured below, confirming that Angela is indeed still alive. 😲

If she were still around, you'd probably see some of those actors too 🙂
