Kenneth Peterson5 said:It isn't about shadows. Adura and Dervish (from Musliman.hr) haven't just rejected certain social norms because they happen to dislike them—that’s not quite right. Rather, they have refused to adopt the specific set of behavioral standards that you and rowdyhawk10 are pushing. These standards seem to directly conflict with the level of tolerance required for users who hold worldviews fundamentally different from yours two.

If we are talking about those extremist ideologies claiming that a woman is unfaithful simply because she marries outside of her faith—or the twisted logic suggesting it’s permissible to kill someone who converts from Islam—then there is absolutely zero room for tolerance. I am truly sorry for what happened.

Aganor is, much like Phoenix—a total gem.
Aganor is, much like Phoenix, a highly educated individual—someone whose body of work is so advanced that it’s hardly surprising both have been sidelined by a mediocre environment. It isn't really about how they react to certain situations in a vacuum; rather, people tend to focus on the specific, highly articulate way they choose to express those reactions.
Their works are quite extensive—in any case, they are pieces that I find myself reading with genuine pleasure.

Ultimately, since you aren't showing any actual tolerance for intelligence anymore—instead choosing to judge everyone solely based on those occasional emotional outbursts, which are clearly the minority—you really should have consulted with the Philosophy moderators first. They would have almost certainly sided against it, preferring to only consider banning someone from the Religion section instead. Because, in case you weren't aware, Aganor is a constant, welcome fixture over in the Philosophy section.

Why should they be any different? There are fundamental rules of cultural dialogue that apply to everyone—period. If the vast majority of people on this Reddit can manage to follow them, then there’s absolutely no reason why they shouldn't have to do the same. When an average user gets caught up in a moment of emotional turbulence and lashes out at someone else, they get a warning, and that's that. But when that kind of instability happens repeatedly—to the point where someone hits a thousand points—then we can safely conclude that either the individual isn't mentally sound, or they simply don't give a damn.

Finally, regarding this supposed lack of culture, self-control, or basic empathy for others—I’d just like to point out how one of your fellow moderators recently "branded" a group of users on Reddit as terrorists. In my opinion, that is a far more egregious offense than anything Aganor ever did, which is exactly why he was permanently banned.

Hey, so, after he went ahead and claimed that it’s actually okay to kill someone just because they decide to change their religion...

The whole mess upstairs is laid out perfectly in the Nicole James complaint and grievance thread.
You guys just twist the words written in the holy books however you want—basically just bending them to fit whatever narrative suits you best at the moment.

I'd love to see a link that actually backs up that claim above.

Honestly, watching from the sidelines, it’s just depressing how being above average intelligence gets treated like absolute bottom-tier trash—but also, man, the way people get banned? It's ridiculous. So much of it feels totally pointless, either because someone clearly didn't grasp what was actually written or they're just throwing out a ban hammer because they can't handle a different opinion. It's exhausting.

Kenneth Peterson5, I’ve been following your posts for a few days now because you’re actually an interesting person to read, but there is something I’m struggling to wrap my head around;

if you’re standing so firmly by your stance on intelligence in your "recent" posts—and look, I get where you're coming from—do you honestly think it’s okay for an intelligent, engaging, witty person, someone who is generally well-liked by the moderators and the rest of the community here, to snap at an "average" user and tell them to "eat shit monkey retarded" or scream some profanity about their mother's stupidity in a fit of rage? (Which, let's be honest, is sometimes hard to distinguish from just being a jerk)

Look, I get humor. I get sarcasm and all those other stylistic flourishes, and I even understand being pissed off—trust me, I’ve never handed out a ban myself—but when someone repeats the same insult five times in a row, like Cp.Tar or that guy using the alias steelskipper5, then I lose my cool, and yeah, I have to issue a strike.

Honestly, I think you would be incredibly strict—maybe even tougher than any of the moderators on this American forum—but God hasn't given you the chance yet, so don't feel bad about it.

Believe me, this is a hell of a job, and it's not something just anyone can handle—not because of a lack of intelligence, but because of what's... well, "missing" in a healthy brain.😉

Interesting suggestion, but if you’re asking me, I’d tweak things a bit...

I’d stretch the mod rotation period to at least 6 months instead of 3... because like someone else already mentioned on this thread, it would just be pure chaos. Every single sub-forum would just be stuck in a loop of voting for mods. Then, right when everyone finally picks someone and those threads get cleared out, we'd be back to square one with a new election. 3 months feels way too short—it’ll fly by before you even know what hit you. And obviously, if a newly elected mod turns out to be useless, there should be a way to pull them and move to the runner-up or whatever...

...I also still think giving regular users 100% control over the whole site is a bad move. Like someone else pointed out here, people usually just vote for whoever they hang out with most in that specific section or the person who posts the most. That doesn't mean they actually know their stuff or provide the best answers. In my opinion, after the vote is in, the admins and senior mods should review everything. They should check the user's post history to make sure they actually know what they're talking about before making the final call...

...My idea? We do a massive sweep at the start. Put all current mods to a vote to see who stays and who goes. Meanwhile, we'd have to block mods from sending PMs to prevent them from swaying votes. I’d be down to coordinate that with Kenneth Peterson5

...Just my two cents, though. Not trying to start anything or take sides...

Right; the whole thing could just be called "enjoy yourselves, you monkeys."

So, what you're saying is everyone on the forum should just drop everything to focus on electing and re-electing moderators!?

Oh, please. 🤣

If you actually know something about a specific topic, then go find a sub-forum where you can actually be useful and help someone out—don't just sit here wasting everyone's time.

Believe me, this is a hell of a job, and it's not something just anyone can handle—not because of a lack of intelligence, but because of what's... well, "missing" in a healthy brain.😉

1)
Personally, I think it's total idiocy that I "can't" call a user an idiot, pure insanity that I "can't" call someone a moron, and just plain low-class that I "can't" call someone a total degenerate (with emphasis on the degenerate part—that's my own little flair).

But, to actually answer your question:
Yeah, obviously that kind of behavior isn't okay, but honestly, you shouldn't expect anything different from someone who’s supposedly "less" intelligent either.
Then again—it’s not exactly the end of the world.

Now, let me ask a rhetorical question: Is it really fair that I don't have a single 45-point strike against me, even though I’ve addressed plenty of users/mods/admins in ways that were way worse—ways that might look "polite and civil" on paper, but actually carry way more weight when it comes to trying to insult someone's intelligence?

Bottom line: under the rules here, anyone can insult someone else "with gloves on," and frankly, those "polite" insults usually leave a much deeper scar anyway.

2)
Here’s another take on your question, which I think is just as valid as my first point:
It’s definitely ugly when people talk like trash, but it’s not the moderators' job to raise people. If a user's crude language bothers you, just put them on ignore.

Actually, if you ask me, people should have total freedom of speech. If someone is a nationalist, a chauvinist, a religious fanatic, or just a straight-up jerk, anyone can just ignore them if they want to.
And if people *don't* want to ignore them, they can try engaging in further debate—maybe they'll actually get through to them that way.

For instance, sometimes the only way to show a hardcore American nationalist how wrong they are is to have someone from the exact group they hate talk back to them.
If you don't allow a stubborn nationalist to express themselves freely (crude or not, whatever), then they’ll just stay a stubborn nationalist forever, and that causes way more damage than any "hate speech" ever could.

Well, you’ve been sarcastic and used all sorts of other jabs many times where you insulted people "with gloves on," as I mentioned before.
You do it all the time, whether you're acting as a mod or just a regular user. (and since you know the drill, it's time to take a pill 😁)

It’s pretty interesting how you don't see your own constant insults and mockery of others as some kind of problem.

Seriously though, more mods have already suggested she join their crew.
The last suggestion was basically to just run up a clone account so I could pump out a thousand short, low-effort posts—you know, stuff that wouldn't let them recognize me 😁—and just stop filing a single complaint and grievance against the mods 🤣—and boom, after a few months, we’ve got ourselves a new mod.

But honestly? I have zero desire to be part of a squad where the users are looked down on as "vulgaris" while the mods act like they're the "elite," and where the staff doesn't even grasp what being a "Moderator" actually entails in the real world.

Yeah, sure, not everyone can be a great moderator, just like not everyone can be a killer mechanic or a decent psychiatrist, etc.—but listen, intelligence is a non-negotiable prerequisite for any complex job that requires actual understanding.

I am 100% with you on that one.

Look, this whole thread is just a total parody of the general situation here.

We knew the proposal would get shot down before the topic was even created.
We knew the moderators' comments were going to be laughable before we even hit "post."
And we totally saw Jeremy Diaz9 coming with his specific suggestions.

The only thing we couldn't have predicted—and honestly, the thing that struck me most—was that the admin Desiree would respond in such a polite and genuinely nice way.

Anyway, thanks for getting involved and for giving it a shot.

Now I'm curious—when exactly did I start making a habit of just insulting people? Even in those few times where I did lash out at certain creatures (usually in a fit of pure rage), it was always after some long-winded provocation or trolling that went totally unpunished. So, since you're going to use me as the example here, please, do me a favor and show me exactly where I did that.

And BTW, both nicknames are just aliases. But steelskipper5 is basically the alter ego of cp.tar.

To you, this is: "First off, there is no such thing as a "Salafi movement," especially not a modern one. This is a terrorist movement that can't plant its roots here because it promotes anti-civilization values." — so, calling someone a terrorist is okay? 🤣

I mean, if I say that members of the ALF are terrorists because they use terrorist methods—like blowing up buildings and stuff—to get what they want, would some users take offense if they actually belonged to the ALF? 😲

Yeah, it’s a real shame to call things by their actual names, isn't it... 🙄

Well now, redmarlin3, looking at your PDF, I see you've gone ahead and labeled the Petae members as idiots too. You really are ahead of the curve on this one 👍

I really didn't want to drag your embarrassment over to this thread too, but since you're being so insistent...
How adorable 😉

rowdyhawk10 calls a group of four users terrorists

User Adura fires back

rowdyhawk10 just replies and repeats the same thing

Black and white cloning and responding to slander

I wasn't really insisting on anything. I just noticed you were asking for a link from Nicole James. 🙂 I assume you're aware that there have been plenty of statements like the ones you're asking Nicole about (for instance, in the thread ISLAM - 114 questions, 114 answers). However, Nicole can't provide that link, as we had to delete it because it was promoting violence and terrorism.

If someone claims that killing those who leave Islam is justified, then—from the perspective of international charters regarding individual rights and freedom of religion, as well as American laws and the rules of this Reddit, it constitutes an ideology of violence and terror. If that ever becomes state law, it evolves into state terrorism (again, I'm speaking from the standpoint of international charters on individual rights and religious freedom, along with American laws and our Reddit rules).

Glorifying criminal regimes and celebrating violence is strictly sanctioned by the Religion forum rules (see point 9) and the general site rules. Neither I nor any other moderator will ever allow that to pass. 🤷

Maybe you should just ask your friend whose side you're taking: "should someone who leaves Islam be killed?"
Once you hear his answer, everything should become much clearer to you. Personally, I think I know what he'll say. 😉 Happy 2009 to everyone. 👋

Nice, eloquent, and patient—classic you, 🙏😁

Now, if a layman were to write the post above, they’d probably think it was decent, but honestly? You just doubled down on being a total clown. By twisting their actual words, you're basically accusing this whole group of forum users of being part of some Islamic terror movement—which isn't just moronic, it's straight-up libel.

Quoting Frosty the Snowman:
"We are the ones who have to adapt to Islam, not adapt Islam to ourselves."

This "Islamic reformer" guy clearly hasn't grasped a single thing if he hasn't admitted to even one mistake in all this time.

The "crowd" he claims has "conspired" against him actually covers a massive spectrum of people. And the most striking part? All of us, along with him, hold wildly different views on various issues—which I see as a huge plus, not a downside—yet despite all that diversity, we're all united by one core belief:

We are the ones who have to adapt to Islam, not adapt Islam to ourselves.

So, from my perspective, the drama involving brother Black & White, Kobi, sister Alem, Sunshine, and the whole crew isn't the cause... it's the direct consequence of that exact sentence mentioned above.

And calling a fellow believer a terrorist? That's the absolute limit. It's the straw that broke the camel's back..."

Look, rowdyhawk10, if you actually knew anything about Islam, you would've accepted the public challenge from the Black & White crowd to have a 1:1 debate. You two could have gone head-to-head, and the Muslims on the forum could have voted on who actually made sense. Simple, transparent, and—most importantly—without your constant twisting of facts and manipulation.

As a moderator, you don't have the right to delete posts or hand out warnings and bans just because people don't think like you or don't interpret the Quran your way.

Adura, BigJason, Musliman.hr (Dervish), Sijeno, and the rest have decided to stop posting in the Religion section entirely as long as you're running things—all because of your twisted interpretations, your specific take on the Quran, and your style of moderation.

DrSigmundFrojd isn't Muslim, so he decided to walk away too recently.

Who's next on the list?
and
Why isn't the administration doing anything about this?

@redmarlin3
Instead of jumping in with this kind of stupidity, maybe ask yourself how you'd feel if an admin booted you from your position and banned you just because they decided you were somehow affiliated with Al-Qaeda?

......................

Anyway, I'm getting bored of criticizing rowdyhawk10 myself, so I'm officially signing off from this "Shady problems" thread for good.

Kenneth Peterson5, you keep repeating the same points over and over without actually listening to what people are saying to you. If someone argues that a person should be killed simply because they changed their faith—well, that isn't "practicing free will"—that is straight-up pathological fanaticism and a criminal act. These kinds of primitive, violent fanatics—who, let’s face it, are basically the extremists on this Reddit thread with their specific ideologies—are not welcome here. I'll say it again: it’s a shame that some of the more moderate users have sided with them, but honestly, that’s their problem, not mine. As long as I am at the helm of this platform, any religion or set of ideas that conflicts with the Declaration of Human Rights will not be permitted under the guise of religious freedom.

Jesus, for God's sake, who on earth decided that you should kill someone just because they switched religions?
You guys are totally twisting His words—black and white, He never said anything about killing people just because they changed their faith!

Seriously unbelievable.
Just unbelievable and honestly, embarrassing.

So much for me ignoring everything people write to me.

edit: I see you're also a massive scholar when it comes to this whole "modern Salafi movement" and Islam in general.
