So I’ve got this thing going on. It’s not like a massive emergency or anything, but it’s driving me nuts, so I figured I’d throw it out there and see what you guys think... basically, lately I’ve been feeling super dizzy and nauseous all the time. Like, that constant "I'm gonna barf" feeling, except nothing actually comes up. I went for blood work a few months back and everything checked out—iron levels are fine, my EKG was good, thyroid is normal, and I even did that test for H. pylori bacteria in my stomach, but nope, I don't have it and never have. I wondered if maybe my birth control could be the culprit, but I’ve been on the same pills for years and never had a single side effect until now. If anyone has any ideas on how to make this stop, please let me know...🙂
Thanks in advance

That happened to me for about ten days straight once. It just went away on its own. Honestly, you might just be dealing with a bit too much stress right now.😉

Could it be low blood pressure causing the dizziness?

Stress and low blood pressure... yeah, I deal with that too.

I dealt with the exact same thing for three weeks straight... and honestly, even now, I have no clue what caused it. Could have been blood pressure, maybe my stomach, or just pure stress. If this keeps up, you really ought to see a doctor.🙄

I’m lowkey terrified it’s just poor blood flow to the brain, layman's terms or whatever. When the dizziness and vomiting hit... I start spiraling about having a stroke.
Honestly, wouldn't surprise me one bit.😢But yeah, haven't actually done anything about it yet.

I mean, I feel way too young for serious stuff like a stroke. I'm only 23, but honestly, seeing this kind of thing happen these days isn't even that shocking anymore.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards stress being the culprit. It’s not like I’m having a visible meltdown or anything, but it's probably lurking in my subconscious since I'm grinding for my final exam right now... that's gotta be doing something to me. My blood pressure is naturally pretty low, usually around 110/70, sometimes even lower... so that's probably part of it.
Does anyone actually know what helps with this nausea?😉
Thanks for the help, everyone.🙂

I experienced some very similar symptoms myself, though mine were probably even more intense because I was dealing with facial palsy—that partial facial paralysis that followed an ear infection. It completely threw my equilibrium out of whack; I dealt with such debilitating nausea for several days that even just sitting up in bed felt overwhelming, let alone trying to stand.

Hey, is anyone here actually taking anything for vertigo? And more importantly, does it actually work?
thanks🙄

I’m no doctor, so don't take my word for it

I’ve been dealing with the exact same thing—nausea, killer headaches, and this weird sense of disorientation. It’s been hitting me hard for the last few days. My sinuses are completely backed up deep in there, so I’m thinking they might be putting pressure on the equilibrium center in my ear or something... plus, I've got this constant ringing in my ears too.

So, yeah, if you ask me, my best guess is that it’s all just coming from those stuffed-up sinuses...

Good luck, hope you feel better

I’m feeling the exact same way.
It turns out my low blood pressure and a misaligned neck have been messing with me—it feels like there isn't enough blood flow reaching my brain.

Dizziness could just be from bad posture; if you're sitting at a desk all day, maybe try moving around a bit more. It might also be an ear infection—those can mess with your equilibrium and make everything spin. Blood pressure and stress play a role too. As for the nausea, that could be stress, maybe some anxiety over an upcoming exam, or even gynecological issues. If this sticks around, you should probably just see a doctor. We're all just guessing here.
Also, if you took a hard hit to the head recently, a concussion can cause both nausea and dizziness. 🤷

I actually dealt with something similar myself after I gave my head a little jolt while getting out of bed one morning. My doctors were a bit stumped at first and they were weighing two different possibilities: either it was an issue with my cervical spine or maybe something involving my inner ear and balance center. They ended up putting me on some Vitamin B6 supplements and a prescription for vertigo—honestly, the name of the medication escapes me right now! It all just kind of cleared up on its own after a few days, and by the time they finished running all my tests, it hadn't come back. My mom went through a nearly identical thing about a year after I did, and her symptoms vanished just as mysteriously as mine did. I’m really hoping whatever you’re feeling is nothing serious, but if I were in your shoes, I’d definitely make an appointment with a doctor just to be safe, since those kinds of sensations can sometimes point to more significant health issues.

Does anyone else get this weird numbness in their arms whenever they feel dizzy? It’s like, my hands just go dead. O.o
I mean, it happens when I stand up—not even if I bolt upright, just after lying down for maybe half an hour or so. My head starts spinning, my arms go numb, and I honestly struggle to keep my balance. What on earth is going on with me?

It’s most likely just low blood pressure, so I’d suggest checking that first.

Go see your doctor first, and they might just refer you to a neurologist for a full evaluation.

(And I have to agree with fadedmarlin402 regarding blood pressure; after all, they really know their stuff.)

For the last month or so, I’ve been dealing with these intense bouts of dizziness. Every time I lie down in bed and rest my head on the pillow to one side,
it feels like something is pouring from my brain straight into my eyes. The spinning gets so violent I can't even focus my vision
and my stomach churns like I'm about to throw up. It doesn't matter if my eyes are open or closed; it's just as bad. My sister couldn't believe what she was seeing when I laid down next to her earlier;
my eyes were darting left and right, desperately trying to find a focal point. I should mention this all started after I wiped out on my bike,
though I didn't hit my head or anything major.
I shredded my left palm pretty bad, and it took me forever just to get back home. Once I arrived, I soaked some cotton in rubbing alcohol and pressed it hard against the open wound until I nearly blacked out.
My sister told me later that was a terrible idea, but whatever. Is it possible that what I did actually caused this?

Are you experiencing any tinnitus or ringing in your ears?
Any other visual issues?
How old are you?
You really need to go see a neurologist immediately.

Sometimes, though it’s rare, I get this ringing in my ears or sounds just seem to muffle out, but it only lasts for a few seconds. I've also got noticeable vision issues—my distance vision is pretty weak. I'm 21 years old.
thanks!
