Best ophthalmologists in NYC?

I happened to come across some glowing recommendations for Dr. Ksenia, who practices near the memorial pillars over on Water Street, so I was wondering if anyone here has actually seen her? I'd love to hear how satisfied you were with her services...

Essentially, my sister needs an eye exam due to her prescription, and we’re looking for someone truly expert—someone she can trust for long-term care moving forward...

By the way, if anyone happens to know, does anyone have an idea what her consultation fees look like?

I've been wearing soft contact lenses for eight years now. When I first started, my prescription was around -8.00 in both eyes. I never had any issues back then—no stinging, no watering, I couldn't even feel them in my eyes. But things changed once my prescription climbed past -11. Now, I'm sitting at -12.50 in both eyes. Since day one, I've just been getting my lenses from an eye clinic on Water Street in Washington, D.C.
The problem is that the higher the prescription, the thicker these lenses get. They irritate me every single day; it feels like they're pushing right into my eyeball, and when I wake up in the morning, the inside of my eyelids are all crusty.
I'm wondering, are all lenses thicker as the prescription increases, or is it just the ones at this specific clinic? I actually looked it up in the Encyclopedia Britannica, and they said that's just how it works.

My wife had an amazing experience—she explained everything so clearly, was super patient, and really knows her stuff. Plus, her sister is awesome. Highly recommend! 👍

As for what the checkup cost, I think my last one was around $83, but let me double-check the receipt when I get home.
Otherwise, I've also been looking for someone I can visit regularly, and I'm really happy with her!
