In the 13th century, you wouldn't have seen anyone wearing kilts—those didn't show up until the 1700s. Plus, Isabelle of France (played by Sophie Marceau, who basically disappears from the plot halfway through) was only three years old when Wallace messed up at Falkirk.
And that term "arse"? I think that didn't even enter the lexicon until the 15th century.😁

Still, I guess you can't deny the movie had a massive impact on sparking Scottish nationalism. Two years later, they managed to secure their own parliament. I'm not saying it was the sole reason, but the film definitely helped move the needle.

The way they handled everything back in 2001 was just pure genius...

I remember when this list first dropped on IMDb; people were losing their minds over it, but honestly? It’s absolute garbage.

Listen to this 😂. Why are you bringing up those thugs so much? About 90% of the audience expects a massive historical spectacle when a movie about old battles gets made. Those 90% don't care about historical accuracy; they just want to have a good time watching the film. Then you've got that other 10% who act like amateur historians—including you—claiming the movie is garbage because it depicts certain customs incorrectly. That’s not even the point; you shouldn't take it that seriously. The movie won a ton of awards and praise, and then a few years later, some "historians" show up🤣😂 spitting on the film just because it portrays the Roman army "wrong." I wouldn't be surprised if you imagine the Roman army as some group of soldiers in polished, shiny armor, looking exhausted and bloody while still trying to maintain perfect formations against hundreds of barbarians🙄

Just finished watching Kingdom of Heaven and spent some time falling down a rabbit hole online, only to realize the movie is pretty much pure fiction—especially when it comes to the main guy. Honestly? Knowing how far off it is from actual history kind of ruined the whole experience for me. 👎👎

I felt the exact same way after watching The Flintstones and realizing humans and dinosaurs didn't hang out together, and they definitely didn't have pedal-powered cars, remote control TVs, or vacuum cleaners back in the Stone Age...

I just couldn't get over it... 😱
