I honestly think it’s best to just let the eye rest from any foreign objects overnight. That’s why I don’t quite get the urge to put overnight lenses on a child; with a little bit of willpower and some routine, they can manage just fine with standard soft contacts.
Hygiene should be strictly morning and night—you store the lenses in their case and start fresh every single morning.

Sure, it might be an adjustment for the kid, and maybe they’ll lose a lens or two on the floor at first, but they'll get used to it eventually.

According to various online medical resources, this specific method is actually the preferred approach for children. It carries a significantly lower risk of infection or lens displacement, and more importantly, it allows parents to maintain full oversight during the insertion and removal process.

Personally, I’m just biding my time until I see how much the prescription actually jumps. For the moment, things are manageable; at a mere -0.50, they can get by without glasses most of the time, only reaching for them when it's necessary for schoolwork or watching TV.
