Saw this wild topic pop up on the news feed so I went digging online—anyway, drop your all-time snoozefests here or just weigh in on this list🙂

Top 10 most boring Movies
The Oscar winning movie " Lost in Translation", starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, actually got voted the most boring movie ever. Apparently, it pulled 23 percent—narrowly beating "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace", which landed second at 18 percent.

The survey was conducted for Silentnight, America's biggest bed manufacturer. Their brand manager, Steven Simpson, mentioned: "WE were surprised to see sol many well-known award-winning films make The top 10. No doubt the findings will stir up some controversy amongst film fans."

So, here’s the top 10:

1. " Lost in Translation" (23 percent)
2. "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" (18 percent)
3. "Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind" (14 percent)
4. "Vanilla Sky" (13 percent)
5. "A Beautiful Mind" (10 percent)
7. "The Remains of the Day" (eight percent)
8. "The Black Dahlia" (seven percent)
9. "The Da Vinci Code" (four percent)
10. "The English Patient" (three percent)

When I think about the absolute most mind-numbing movies out there, names like "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Alexander," and "Andrei Rublev" immediately jump to mind.
Honestly, this list is a bit all over the place. I get why some people might not be fans of stuff like "Lost in Translation" or "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," but they aren't exactly impenetrable puzzles that leave you totally lost, nor are they even particularly long.

Let's just stick to mentioning those massive blockbusters that everyone expected to be huge, like Titanic, Pearl Harbor, and Alexander the Great.
I honestly can't think of any others right now, but I'll definitely come back and add more if they pop into my head.

Alexander the Great, for sure... though Meet Joe Black also comes to mind when we're talking about this🙂There were definitely moments in both of those movies where I almost gave up and turned them off, but I managed to push through😬
I honestly don't get why Star Wars or Lost in Translation are even being mentioned here... those are just some of those movies that keep getting recycled, and I can always find a reason to rewatch them🙂

Personally, my absolute snoozefests are "Dreamgirls" and "Chicago"... don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on musicals, but these two just feel like such a grind. I'd also throw in "The English Patient," "Vanilla Sky," and—after revisiting it after a few years—"Meet Joe Black," which felt incredibly exhausting and way too long. Honestly, I have no idea why I actually liked it the first time I saw it 🤷
As far as this list goes, it's kind of hilarious to me because there are movies here that are genuinely gripping and definitely not boring—like "A Beautiful Mind," "The Da Vinci Code," and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"—which is weird but super engaging 👍—plus "Lost in Translation," which felt like a bit of a slog the first time around, but ended up being great on the second watch. 😉 ☕

Look, I get that a lot of people aren't really into dramas or movies like "Lost in Translation" boring movie—but man, this Star Wars thing is seriously bugging me. I honestly have no clue how it even made the list. 🤷To me, it’s easily the worst episode out of all of them—but honestly, it's definitely not the absolute bottom. boring 😲

That list above is absolute garbage... personally, looking at all those famous, highly acclaimed movies, I find 12 Monkeys and Oldboy to be incredibly tedious...

What a ridiculous list. Lost in Translation boring movie? Even if you think it is, the thing is only about 90 minutes long... How can something that short featuring Scarlett Johansson possibly be boring? Seriously 🙄

Someone above mentioned that they found The Talented Mr. Ripley, Oldboy, and 12 Monkeys boring... I honestly don't even know what to say to that.

When I first saw Pulp Fiction, I actually found it pretty dull. I watched it a few more times later on and it wasn't quite as boring (probably because I knew what to expect), but I still think it's overrated.

I also found Tom Jones to be a pretty boring movie. And Underground by Emir Kusturica too.

As for me, that horror flick really stuck with me. The Wasp movie If we can pivot toward horror for a moment—honestly, that was exceptionally dull. It might have been the most tedious first hour I have ever spent watching anything in my entire life, followed by some random horror flick. terrible swamp Which F. Whitaker is out there spouting such absolute nonsense about ghosts that it actually makes your head spin? Seriously, it’s enough to give you vertigo. Alexander I won't say another word... those are really the only ones I can think of at the moment.

The Wasp movie ISN'T a horror. I have no idea why everyone keeps labeling it as one... It's actually a great psychological drama.

Hmm, let me think about this for a second.

Putting LIT or, for heaven's sake, ESOTSM at the very top of this list is just absurd, and
it tells me everything I need to know about how relevant and valid this whole thing actually is.
Especially ESOTSM—I mean, that film is absolute perfection, but as I've said more than a few
times now, art isn't meant for everyone; you have to truly love it and understand it.😉

Besides, if I don't like a movie, I simply don't watch it. Or, as soon as I realize something is off, I just turn it off.
Nothing specific comes to mind right this second, but there are countless titles I just skip over.
That's really all there is to it.😬
I usually bail after about ten minutes; why bother struggling through it?
Take something like: Know Who Killed Me
Or I won't even give it a chance to begin with,
like: Planet Terror 😬

Whoever put this list together clearly wasn't thinking straight. The only way you could call these movies boring is if you weren't paying attention.
I've watched Lost in Translation about ten times now and never once felt bored. Same goes for Star Wars—watched it plenty of times too. I don't even want to start listing others... this list just doesn't hold up at all. At least they should provide some actual reasons why they find them so "boring," as they claim...

Anyway, my own list of boring movies I've sat through lately would look something like this:

...completely independent of ruggedjackal46 🙂See, here’s my issue with these kinds of lists—they basically give everyone permission to trash things they simply don't have the patience, the willpower, or occasionally even the basic knowledge to understand. We live in an era where everything moves at breakneck speed; we want to consume everything instantly and categorize it just as fast. And then, suddenly, you're stuck with this endless stream of mindless lists created just for the sake of being listed. 😵

It seems to me that an awful lot of movies get slapped with the "boring" label by people who don't really let cinema impact their lives, treating every film as nothing more than lightweight popcorn entertainment. You only have to listen to the chatter of the crowd as you're walking out of a theater to realize this. I don't think I've ever once exited a cinema without hearing some immature kid or a complete fool complaining about how the movie was a total snooze-fest... honestly, I can't recall a single time that didn't happen, regardless of what the actual film was about.

For many folks, if a movie doesn't feature massive explosions, non-stop action, a mountain of bodies, nudity, or low-brow toilet humor, they decide absolutely nothing is happening and conclude it's dull. And even if it does have those things, if the runtime stretches past two hours, they claim it's far too long. I suppose there isn't much I can say to people whose attention spans don't last longer than thirty minutes. They can just stick to Transformers, I guess, and enjoy themselves.

Furthermore, I suspect that expectations and one's general mood while watching play a massive role. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if the people who branded Lost in Translation as the most tedious film possible were actually expecting a classic comedy. It doesn't surprise me at all that they found it dull afterward. I experienced something quite similar with The Thin Red Line when I saw it in theaters. Just a week prior, I had watched Saving Private Ryan on the big screen, so I showed up to The Thin Red Line all revved up, expecting another experience just like that. I nearly died of boredom and almost walked right out of the theater. However, after giving it another chance and watching it quietly at home, I realized it was actually magnificent and not boring at all.

Ultimately, why should movies even be required to be "fun"? Film is an artistic medium, and I believe it ought to pursue artistry just as much as it pursues entertainment. It's much like literature:
Is Fyodor Dostoevsky "funny," for instance? Not particularly. But is he a world-class writer with world-class works? Absolutely.

I honestly don't get this list of "boring" movies. I guess if you're the type of person who can't handle a few minutes of dialogue or a slow-moving plot without losing your mind, you need constant explosions or something just to stay awake. Unbelievable.
Personally, the absolute most boring movie I can think of is "Meet Joe Black". It's incredible!

Istinabog, I watched "The Talented Mr. Ripley" ages ago. Maybe it would actually make sense to me now, but back then, it just stuck in my mind as the absolute pinnacle of boredom.

As for "Andrei Rublev," I went into that one without knowing the first thing about Andrei Tarkovsky. There’s that old joke about an ambulance rushing to save a guy who passed out after trying to read Fyodor Dostoevsky for two hours straight—I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened here with this 😁

This list is painfully stupid, and that statement someone made about 12 Monkeys is just pure comedy. LOL

I usually forget boring movies ASAP, but for some reason, LOTR2 and Saw III are the ones stuck in my head—mostly because they were so tedious I was practically begging for them to end. I almost fell asleep mid-movie, but I stayed awake just to be polite to the crew. 😢
