I had polyp surgery (FESS) on my Rib back in 2005, and everything regressed incredibly fast. Having gone through the procedure again just two weeks ago, I’m really hoping for a better outcome this time. Now, we’ll see if I can actually stick to avoiding alcohol—mostly beer—and cigarette smoke. That last part is going to be a challenge, since everyone seems to smoke constantly... and honestly, the laws here don't do much to stop it. On top of all that, I deal with allergies to dust mites, household dust, feathers, and dog hair. I’m going to try my best to follow those lifestyle tips.

It’s been over a year since I last popped up in this thread... seriously, feels like forever. Has anyone actually found a medication that actually *works* in the meantime? It would be killer if there was some kind of natural remedy out there—I’m all about that—but honestly, at this point, I’ll try just about anything to finally get rid of this constant, nagging nuisance...

God. Dealing with nasal polyps too...
Been struggling for ages (maybe 7 or 8 years), constant congestion, heavy breathing, lost my sense of smell and everything. I just ignored the pain, but lately, it’s been getting worse—headaches, eye pain—so I finally had to see a doctor. Turns out it's polyps. Didn't even realize it before; thought it was just sinus issues. Even my GP thought so, which is why nothing changed for years...
Found out recently and honestly, it freaked me out quite a bit...
Searching online, there's everything... surgeries, meds, home remedies. I even saw some forum mention someone in Mexico selling herbal teas legally...
Now, I've read that surgery can be super effective (sometimes, at least for a while) but also pretty risky since the optic nerve is right there in the nasal cavity. It's a sketchy situation...
There are people on this Discussion Group who have already gone through surgery, so maybe let me know if your doctor explained the risks... other than that, I don't know what else to say. Just really nervous..
Sorry if my English is a bit off, I'm not American, so please bear with me. Just wanted to share my thoughts with you all...
Thanks in advance for reading my post.

Hey there,
It feels like it's been forever since anyone has posted anything in this thread, so I figured I’d jump in and share my own experience.
So, I've been dealing with the absolute nightmare of nasal polyps for about eight years now. I’ve actually gone under the knife three different times for polyp removal surgeries, but the pattern is always the same—a few months later, everything just grows right back and I'm right back where I started.

I have tried just about every medication out there, from heavy doses of Decortin to spraying every nasal spray imaginable, but nothing seemed to stick.
Things still aren't quite sorted out, and it looks like I'll probably be heading back in for another surgery eventually, but lately, I've started using Maršićev ointment. I apply it to my forehead, temples, and both inside and outside my nose every morning and night, and I honestly have to say, I feel significantly better. It might just be a placebo effect, but it’s definitely worth a shot if you're struggling. The ointment is only about $8 or $9 and you can pick it up at any local pharmacy...

Does anyone happen to know if they perform endoscopic sinus surgery for nasal polyps at the local university hospital in Chicago?

Does anyone actually get any relief from those natural nasal drops or steaming with herbal teas? And when I say "relief," I mean—is anyone actually seeing their polyps just... vanish?

I’m not entirely sure where this belongs, so I’ll just drop it here...
I have a box of unopened Flonase drops—not the spray, mind you—that I no longer need. Since I had surgery for polyps and my treatment plan has shifted, I’m more than happy to give this Flonase away to someone who can actually use it. I’d prefer to do the hand-off in Washington, D.C. if possible.

I basically nuked my polyps right out of existence using some concentrated propolis drops. If you haven't given that a shot, you're seriously missing out; I’d also suggest cutting alcohol out of your life entirely for a while—personally, I was knocking back half a bottle of Jack Daniel's a day 😲 which is definitely what triggered the polyp growth in the first place. Now, I just drink once in a blue moon. 👍

So, back in July 2019, the FDA gave the green light to the first-ever biologic specifically for treating nasal polyps. We're talking about Dupixent. It’s an injectable treatment that’s available here in the States, and while it was originally known for tackling skin conditions, it’s now being used to manage both polyps and asthma. If you're struggling with nasal polyps—maybe you're facing the prospect of surgery, or perhaps you've already gone through the procedure only to have them come crawling right back—I really suggest reaching out to your ENT. You can get this medication if your hospital doctor recommends it, but without that referral, the price tag is... well, let's just say it's quite something! $3.25 (That’s two injections right there.) If you find yourself needing more answers, feel free to head over to the Dupixent (Dupilumab) Discussion Group on Facebook. From what I've gathered from folks who have been through it, some people actually see those polyps start to recede after just the very first shot—and that's when you finally get your sense of smell back!

Starting a new thread here because I’d love to hear about anyone's recent experiences...

Do you all use any natural remedies, like specific teas, drops, salves, or sprays?
