Hey everyone!
I just had a gastroscopy done. Besides being diagnosed with chronic gastritis, GERD, and a hiatal hernia, they also found some tiny polyps.
Stomach details: The lumen looks normal, though dilation is slightly limited because of the hiatal hernia; folds and peristalsis are fine, and the antral mucosa shows some discoloration, but the pylorus is normal. In the fundus, there were several diminutive sessile polyps about 2-3 mm in size, one of which was removed using biopsy forceps.
Pathology report: The sample is a small piece of gastric corpus mucosa. The epithelium is normal, glands are of appropriate thickness, and there are just a few mildly cystically dilated glands, which corresponds to a minor early adenoma of the dilated fundic glands.
Is this anything to worry about? My doctor told me to just come back for a follow-up in a year.
Best,
