Is there any way to actually track down old classics besides just scouring the internet? I'm talking about the heavy hitters—Orson Welles, Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Rita Hayworth, that whole crowd...
Do you think a place like the AMC Theatres might still screen them?

I honestly expected this thread to be all about movies from my favorite decade—the 50s—but instead... 😢

When it comes to cinema here in America, everything feels like a stroke of luck. You might stumble upon something decent if you dig through the deep cuts on Netflix, but as for actual theaters? You’re mostly looking at some ultra-indie screening at a local boutique cinema or maybe catching something at a film festival or a dive bar club. Honestly, your best bet is probably just waiting for some American classic to pop up on cable TV.

The local indie theater doesn't look particularly promising for this either... I’d have better luck catching a Cassavetes flick than anything by Victor Fleming.

There’s this little video rental shop just outside the outskirts of Chicago, and they specialize exclusively in Netflix releases. They basically have everything released in America on disc—everything from the classics and new hits to those weird movies you really wish had stayed unfilmed... though I don't know if that actually helps you out. If you ever find yourself wandering around the area, you should definitely check them out 🤷 🤷

Does anyone know which video rental shop might have some old classics available, or better yet, where I could actually buy them? By old movies, I mean stuff like Breakfast at Tiffany's or Sissy...

In Boston, we have Breakfast at Tiffany's, so I assume you guys in Chicago should be able to find it too.🙂

I’ve been wondering the same thing—where one might actually track down or rent vintage cinema. Does anyone happen to know of a rental shop in Chicago that carries titles like "Nosferatu," or perhaps other gems from the thirties, forties, or fifties?

Where I live, near Brooklyn... just try searching through something like VideoNet.com or maybe even a .net site... there should be plenty of options if you look around.🙄
