redowl90 said:So, is the movie only good if it's gory? Jurassic Park was never meant to be a slasher, and it isn't. None of the films are. The whole point of these movies isn't how much blood you can splash on the screen.

Nobody said that! I was simply suggesting that the third one could have used a bit more grit—it felt a little too much like a movie made for kids.

As for the lack of subtitles on the extras... well, that's just how the cookie crumbles. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Are the extras on that fourth disc actually the same as if you bought the movie separately? Like, is there any difference in the bonus features?

Good grief... hasn't it been four whole years since the last post here? What happened? Where have all the Jurassic Park fans gone? Did the recession finally get the better of you all? Hehehe 😁
Anyway... if you ask me, Jurassic Park stands as one of the greatest film trilogies ever put to screen. I personally think every single installment is fantastic—I honestly don't understand why people love to bash the third one so much. It’s a solid sequel, really, but it seems everyone just decided to freeze it out for one specific reason: the fact that the T-Rex didn't come out on top against the Spinosaurus. Some fans can be quite stubborn about those things, I suppose...
But hey, what can you do...

Oh, and just as a quick heads-up—in case any of you weren't already aware—it looks like Jurassic Park 4 is slated to arrive in about two or three years...

No, listen—this isn't just more speculation or rumors flying around... everything we've heard up until this point might have been a bit shaky, but this is 100% certain for two very specific reasons:
1. Steven Spielberg actually said it himself (here is the link again:
and 2. Joe Johnston is set to direct the fourth installment—that was confirmed back in either 2009 or 2010 (I can't quite recall the exact year, my memory is a bit foggy there) when he mentioned that after working on Captain America, he would be moving straight onto the Jurassic Park project...

It has been officially confirmed that this will be hitting theaters in 3D during the summer of 2013: http://news.yahoo.com/spielbergs-jur...150338334.html>
Additionally, I suppose filming for Jurassic Park 4 is scheduled to begin this coming summer as well.

Actually, it won't be summer—it looks like they've moved it up to Spring 2013 (specifically April 5th). Universal decided to pull the date forward. 🙂

Hmm, IMDb says 2014, and they haven't even cast the actors yet. I’m starting to worry we won't actually see this hit theaters in time for the 20th anniversary of the first movie... 😢

I'm getting impatient here. Honestly, I don't even care if the movie turns out to be garbage, I just need my dinosaur fix... 😁

Honestly... I don't get why everyone's waiting so long. It's easily one of the best movies ever made.

Nathan Myers28 said:I just tried typing Jurassic Park and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAA into the search bar, and you know what? Absolutely nothing comes up. Seriously, what kind of country am I living in? It feels like I'm constantly being bombarded with all this Tarantino nonsense instead! Look, Jurassic Park is hands down my favorite movie of all time—and I’m sure I’m not alone in that feeling (even if I can't find any like-minded people on this specific forum). The film is a remake of Crichton's work, which won three Oscars, and honestly, the movie itself is pure perfection. The characters, the score—which shows John Williams at his absolute peak—the special effects... I mean, it’s from 1993, yet those effects still absolutely crush most of the CGI we see today. The story, everything! It was so impactful that after watching it, I actually started calling Sam Neill "Dr. Grant." Just a fair warning: please don't start any wars over this movie, or I'll end up sending you 75 private messages filled with various insults! And if anyone is planning to watch it, do yourselves a favor and read the books and the comics first—they are all masterpieces.

Good grief, such nonsensical statements... Tarantino bullshit? 🤦 Who's afraid of the big bad wolf now? ☕ Jurassic Park is actually a very well-made film, though I wouldn't go so far as to call it a masterpiece. Still, it was one of my favorite childhood movies.🙂

Jurassic Park was such a game-changer back in its day. It really pioneered that massive scale of modern CGI special effects—way more than what we saw in Terminator 2—and it basically made dinosaur history cool again while making the creators a ton of money. Personally, I think it's the one movie that actually managed to outdo its book. I wasn't a huge fan of the novel, so I guess the filmmakers were smart to fix some of those shaky characters and plot holes. To be honest, the second half gets a little repetitive for me, but I just love those first 40 minutes.

Man, I still get goosebumps thinking about that scene where they first land on the island and roll through in those jeeps, just staring out at that massive field swarming with dinosaurs. And that score... God, it’s pure magic. It’s easily one of only three or four movies I’ve actually gone back to see in a theater more than once.

What can I even say about this franchise? It’s one of those series that practically defined my childhood—something I can always revisit without hesitation. It really is a cinematic heavyweight. To be honest, the second installment holds its own—it's solid enough—but the third one? No comment there. If you want to see where I stand, here is my breakdown:

1. Jurassic Park - 8.5/10
2. Jurassic Park 2 - 7/10
3. Jurassic Park III - 5.5/10

P.S. I have to point out that the first film features my absolute favorite character from Seinfeld, Newman—haha. That opening scene with him is legendary.

Look, if you're watching the third installment on its own, it's an excellent movie; however, for someone who's already lived through the first two, there isn't much left to discover—it feels like we've seen it all before.
I could honestly sit down and binge all three right now, though I’d probably have to watch them in reverse order—starting with 3, then 2, and finishing with 1!

Jurassic Park 3D official trailer
This is an absolute must-watch. I’m not even kidding, I got full-on chills watching this trailer, and honestly, I was borderline tearing up the second that score kicked in.😬

Unfortunately, looks like we aren't getting Jurassic Park 3D here in the States. Hitler can go to hell for that one.
