Yeah, for part 4, you can't see a thing and it's honestly not worth it. It's just darkness; you can't see anything even though I watched it on DVD. I could have turned it off, but I pushed through to the end just waiting for it to be over. I won't bother with these anymore; there's no point. Just a quick side note: I don't get why people who don't even like horror bother commenting on them. It makes no sense. It would be like me commenting on an action flick; I don't watch action, and I wouldn't like any of those movies either. If you aren't a horror fan, like the person who started this thread, then you really shouldn't be weighing in. Bye.

I’m sitting here wondering if the Saw series is actually going to outrun Friday the 13th in terms of total sequels. Also, is anyone else seriously expecting a spin-off where we get traps set in outer space?😁

The original roadmap called for a total of six Saw films. Since Saw II ended up being a much bigger hit than the first one, they actually announced four more sequels following that success.

I actually sat down and watched it yesterday, and honestly, it’s killer—definitely the best one in the Saw series so far...

So, I wanted to pick your brains, what did you guys think? And any theories on where they're taking us with Saw V??

Personally, I’ve always been most into parts 3 and 4... now I can't stop thinking about Saw V. I'm just dying to know how this whole thing is going to wrap up... "the game just begun" is such a legendary line... 😁

So, I finally sat down to watch it today—actually, by my count, it was already yesterday... Honestly, despite all the hate this one gets, I think Saw IV might actually be the best one yet. Sure, there’s blood everywhere and it’s pretty gross, but the plot is solid. It’s super confusing in a way that really makes you want to sit back and deconstruct everything that just happened (haha, sounds nerdy, I know). I am seriously counting down the days until Saw V. To be fair, I watched the third one first and found it absolutely revolting. Just too much gore for me, and those pigs? Terrible. So I went back and watched the first two, which were okay 🤷, but nothing groundbreaking. I honestly thought Saw IV would be a total bust—a friend actually had to buy my movie ticket because I told her there was no way I was paying for it myself—but I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the story. It's a killer movie. I can't wait for part five! If someone had told me a few months ago I’d feel this way, I would have called them crazy... but here we are.

I gotta admit, those Saw movies are actually some of my favorites. That first Saw caught me totally off guard, just like it did for so many people, and I was hooked. Sure, it’s obvious that these sequels are basically recycling ideas, but for my taste? They nail it! Everything about them is just wild, and since it's all fiction, you shouldn't try to take it too seriously or look for realism—it doesn't really make sense if you do. There’s definitely some naive stuff and logic gaps here and there, but overall, the Saw films are super well-made, and more importantly, they're just fun and engaging (they lean so hard into those famous twists, and I find myself just sitting there waiting for the end to see how it all wraps up). After the original, this fourth one is probably my favorite—it's high-energy and stays interesting the whole way through. It kind of reminds me of those gritty crime procedurals you see on TV, just... uh, a much more brutal version. Highly recommend! 👍

One of the main reasons I dig the Saw movies is because there aren't any damn teenagers in them. I am so incredibly over watching annoying little brats in horror movies.

Since there isn't much of a discussion going on, I’ll just keep this brief since I just got back from the theater screening.

Visually, the movie is an absolute assault on the eyes, and the sound design? Not great either. There’s way too much plot happening, which is totally unnecessary for a genre like this. The acting is just bad—super over-the-top—with everyone being terrible except for Jigsaw. Honestly, the only thing worth watching is when Jigsaw shows up and that whole aura he carries, though even that starts to feel a bit thin every time he reappears.
That opening puzzle was brilliant. There are a few other decent ones scattered in there, but most of them are just plain awful.

It’s a real shame, really. Saw I left such a massive impression on me, but everything following it just keeps dragging the franchise down. I remember Saw II being worse than the first, then Saw III felt a little better than the second but still didn't touch the original, and now Saw IV has completely ruined the whole vibe.
I’m telling you again, it’s such a bummer because Saw I really hit home for me.

On a different note, Jigsaw's wife looked great. I have no idea how old she is or who she even is, but man, the camera angles definitely did her assets justice.

And I can't forget to mention that right before the movie started, I was out having this massive dinner with some friends. We went all out—steak, pancakes, you name it... we ate a ton and drank a ton. It was one of the weirdest feelings ever, being totally stuffed and happy, then sitting there watching someone get sliced up during a full Jigsaw autopsy.

I’m pretty sure 80% of people would have been puking right then and there.
Luckily, I’ve never had an issue with it, so I was fine.

By the way, there were only two of us in the theater. Me, with my full stomach, and the other guy with a mountain of popcorn. The faster Jigsaw got sliced up and the bloodier it got, the louder and more aggressively that guy shoved popcorn into his face.

But hey, it was all good—crazy movie, crazy people.

Man, it sucks when you let yourself get talked into seeing something that is clearly garbage.

From the very first film, it was obvious this was just about selling products to teenagers who get off on cheap violence. The creators know exactly what's trendy right now. End of story.

Good grief, when on earth am I supposed to start? 😲 I finished the first one ages ago... and honestly, I just can't bring myself to dive into the rest. After that ending in the first film, I've just been stuck. It’s left me feeling completely unmotivated to continue.

Just finished watching Saw IV today, and now I feel like I absolutely have to marathon through 5 and 6 next.

I thought the movie was great. It’s fun, it’s bloody, and it’s just a solid, pure horror flick. 😁

It’s kind of funny, though—every single time I sit down to watch any Saw movie, I end up having this little existential crisis where I wonder if I’m actually a good person or if I’m just wasting my life away. 😂
So, naturally, I head straight to the forum. 🤣

I don't get it. I honestly don't see where most people are coming from. From my perspective, the first one was okay but the acting was straight-up garbage. The second was just pure exploitation, and the third? Absolute trash. But then Saw IV actually caught me off guard, which is why I suggested we watch it. After three movies that felt like nothing, they finally put together a coherent film where things actually happen. They give you motives, flesh out the characters, throw in some psychological profiling, and the score is way better than the previous entries (even if it isn't the official soundtrack... whatever, doesn't change the movie). If they hadn't kept those annoying elements from the last few sequels that were totally unnecessary, this would have been a damn good movie. It’s just more complex and leagues better than what came before.

And yeah... watching movies on some crappy DivX rip is just stupid and sacrilegious.

Just watched the movie and honestly, it was great. I'm still a little confused about a few plot points, but I'm pretty sure everything will get cleared up in the sequels...

That’s my favorite recent horror flick. At least... it’s imaginative. Regardless, 😍 is my favorite part. Honestly? I have a weakness for blood, violence, that gritty atmosphere, and those traps are just... perfection.
