Hey Maggie.

My hand is killing me.
Doc says it’s because I’m glued to my mouse for ten hours a day. Fair enough.
So, he wraps my arm up, slathers on some random cream, gives me a shot, and tells me to grab some Deep Relief so I don't overwork my right hand so much. 🙄
That was last week. Honestly, the pain hasn't actually stopped; it just feels slightly less intense. I try stretching every day, but besides feeling more sore during the stretches, I've seen zero progress. And every time the pain flares up, my veins start popping out everywhere. 🙄
Anyone got any ideas, tips, or even just a suggestion?

P.S. My left hand is basically useless—not like I haven't tried leaning on it more (if you can even call clicking a mouse and typing "overworking" something... 🙄 )

The real issue with stuff like Deep Relief is that it just masks the pain. You start thinking you’re fine, push yourself too hard, and end up doing even more damage to the injury. It’s better to play it safe and bypass that temptation.
With injuries like this, the discomfort can linger for a couple of months—not trying to freak you out, just being realistic. Can you manage without using your computer for a bit? If so, try to give that arm a total break for a few days. It might actually give you a chance to start healing.

Not an option. My entire livelihood depends on being at my desk...

I was dealing with this pain for over six months straight—it got to the point where I couldn't do anything with my hand. Then, out of nowhere, the discomfort started fading, and now it's almost completely gone. Honestly, I’m not even sure what caused the turnaround. Maybe it’s because I switched to using my computer without a mouse, or perhaps it’s because I’ve been moving my arm in so many different directions lately, like when I'm gardening, pruning the backyard, hauling heavy hoses through the yard, or just going for long swims...
I spend at least eight hours a day on the computer, too.

I've been dealing with this same pain for about a month now. Last week, I went to see my doctor, and she prescribed a course of Lubor and Deep Relief. If things don't improve, she mentioned moving me toward physical therapy. The pain has mostly subsided, but reading your comments about these medications just masking the underlying issue has me feeling pretty anxious. 😕 I can still use my hand quite well, though I try not to overdo it. 🙂 Oh, and I do wear an arm brace from time to time.

Man... Maybe try picking up one of those gel wrist rests for your right hand? The kind you put down by the mouse to keep things feeling more natural. It might also be worth looking at the whole setup—the keyboard, your chair, how the desk sits against your arms. There’s usually some room to tweak the geometry and make it work better.

It knocked me out for a week... felt like a total invalid. You just can't do anything. I couldn't even open a carton of milk. I basically just left my arm completely idle and started drinking some plantain tea—good for the joints—and that did the trick.
Oh, and Voltaren Rapid works for stuff like this too. It’s anti-inflammatory and knocks the pain right out.

I’ve been dealing with this chronic pain in my right arm—it actually stems from how I hold myself during long services at church.
First and foremost—I apply ice to the area several times a day. The pain eventually subsides, but the catch is that you have to be incredibly disciplined about icing it every single time it flares up.
I’ve already posted long threads here detailing my various issues and the mountain of different treatments I’ve cycled through for this arm... but honestly, I just don't have the energy to sit down and type all of that out again.

So, yeah... ice!

My right arm has been killing me for nearly two months now, and I finally bit the bullet and decided to see a doctor. I spend way too much time hunched over my computer, and for a while, using some Deep Relief helped take the edge off. Then, predictably, I let my guard down, stopped using it, and now I’m right back where I started. It’s infuriating. I even went out and bought one of those ergonomic arm rests, but clearly, I waited too long to get it. On top of that, I’ve got some neck issues, and it feels like the whole thing is just one big, connected mess.🙄

My left arm has started acting up lately—just this constant, throbbing ache that makes even the simplest tasks feel like a massive chore. Does anyone happen to know if you can just pick up one of those compression sleeves or arm braces at a local CVS or Walgreens? And more importantly, does anyone have a ballpark idea of what they actually cost these days?
