Honestly, eating junk is usually the biggest reason why your liver labs come back looking like a total mess.
I mean, think about it... everything you shove down your throat has to pass through your liver first.

Can crappy eating habits actually mess up your liver tests?

Who am I even supposed to talk to about this?

I don't really get what you're asking here. First off, how high are we talking?
2. What do you mean by "bad diet"? Are you wondering if elevated transaminases can be caused by skipping meals? Because that’s how it looks.
3. I think the question you *meant* to ask was whether a poor diet—stuff like high fat intake, alcohol, or junk food—can lead to elevated transaminase levels. If that's the case, the answer is a resounding YES.

Last week (starting Wednesday night), I caught some nasty stomach flu—you know the drill: fever, total exhaustion, nausea, and vomiting. Now, I’ve still got this lingering ache on the right side just above my belly button, almost like a stinging sensation in my gut. I went ahead and got blood work done today:
CBC looks fine, ESR is 12 (4-24), CRP is 4.8 (0-5), lipase is 26 ( So, basically, my AST, ALT, and urine amylase are all running high?
Is it possible for these numbers to be spiked just because I dealt with a stomach virus?

Best,
