Like the title says, I get these veins popping out on my hands sometimes, but it’s strictly from my fingers to my wrist—nothing further, just the palm and back of the hand area. Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane. They bulge up and then eventually recede. I've been trying to figure out what actually triggers them... does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? I'm seriously considering what might help. Maybe if I start using hand cream more frequently?

🤣

I suppose I see them quite a bit myself, though it usually happens when the weather gets warmer. 😍

This happens to me too. There isn't really a "cure," but whenever I feel it happening, I just lift my hand up to let the blood flow down. That usually clears it up in a minute or two. Why does it happen? No clue. For me, it mostly kicks in when I'm typing away on my computer, usually on my left hand.

Yeah, they've got a point. It could honestly just be because you aren't moving your whole arm enough...
I mean, at first I was like, what the hell are you whining about, but then I realized you're a woman. Heh.

Veins are everything. 🙏

Don't worry about it, it's actually pretty sexy 😉
By the way, it's just blood flowing under higher pressure in your hands. I've noticed that people with low blood pressure tend to have much more prominent veins in their arms (I happen to be one of those folks 🙂), so as long as it isn't causing you any pain, I wouldn't sweat it too much 👍

I guess my veins are pretty prominent on my hands, and they actually pop out all the way up to my elbows too, which I’m honestly kind of proud of. I have noticed that they seem to show up a bit more when the weather gets warm, I suppose. Since I tend to have low blood pressure, maybe that plays a role in it as well. But personally, I don't mind them at all; if anything, I think it's kind of cool because people often assume I spend a lot of time working out 🤣

And another one for the road.
They're popping out on my back and the tops of my feet, obviously. 😬
The only real issue is that one particular vein is bulging way more than the rest, and man, does it sting. 😳

Yeah, I deal with low blood pressure too. It shows up on my feet as well—I’ve had these spots there for years now—and honestly, I don't think there's much anyone can do about it. I was actually looking at them yesterday; the one on my left foot looks pretty nasty. The right one isn't looking quite as bad.😬

My veins are popping out on my hands too, and my blood pressure is super low. It looks pretty gnarly, but honestly, what can you even do? I’ve tried rubbing on various lotions, but nothing works—unless there was some kind of specialized cream specifically for this issue. Maybe something for varicose veins? Who knows, I haven't tried that yet.
Since this whole thing flares up whenever the weather gets warmer, I’ll sometimes dunk my hands in cold water for a bit. It helps them recede temporarily, but it's definitely not a permanent fix.

I didn't really notice it happening during the winter either. I guess now that it's getting warmer, they're more prominent. As for the whole hot versus cold water thing, I don't see it affecting my veins at all. Taking a hot shower doesn't make them pop out, but I still haven't figured out exactly what triggers them...

Typically, veins pop out when your muscles are under pressure—you know, if you're lifting heavy at the gym or just really straining your muscles... As for any other reason, I honestly haven't the slightest clue...

So, it seems we've landed on the idea that prominent veins tend to pop out more easily in people who deal with low blood pressure during warmer weather. Personally, I struggle with low blood pressure and circulation issues, so my hands are constantly swinging between being freezing cold or uncomfortably hot. Usually, if I’m just sitting around being inactive, they feel chilled, look a bit mottled, and the veins stay hidden. But once I get moving and get my heart rate up, they turn red, warm up, and those veins really start to show. It all comes down to blood flow—when there's plenty of volume circulating, the veins swell, and when it's lacking (though there's always at least a little), they recede.
Basically, if you aren't looking to show off your vascularity, just don't do anything strenuous with your hands or maybe try keeping them in some cold water. 😎

Slathering on hand cream isn't going to do squat here. If those veins are popping out on your hands, it's probably just down to things like temperature, how much you're working out, or blood pressure. Honestly, Harold Anderson3 already nailed the explanation, so I don't have much else to add.

My veins are super prominent too—all the way from my wrists down to my fingers. I'm 53, and while I do have low blood pressure, it’s not just because I stay active. Even on those days when I’m basically doing nothing, they still pop out. It’s been like this since I was 30, honestly. It’s pretty frustrating—to the point where I feel self-conscious wearing rings when I go out, thinking people will just stare at my hands. The only thing that helps is keeping my nails looking nice—which isn't hard since they're healthy, even though my hands are constantly soaked in water and chemicals. And no, I don't wear gloves for anything. When I have to get blood drawn, it's a total struggle for them to find a vein. I don't get it—why can't they just use these bulging veins that are practically begging to be used?
