Hot Fuzz (2007)

It wasn't anything special for me. By the end, it felt way too over-the-top, just packed with too many cheesy tropes for my taste. I think they messed up the editing; it would have hit much harder if it were trimmed down by maybe thirty minutes. And honestly, it doesn't deserve a spot in the IMDb Top 250—anyone can vote on that site, after all.

Shaun of the Dead is better.

Just finished watching Hot Fuzz today. It was absolutely fantastic!!! I know they say you can't argue with taste, but honestly, anyone claiming this movie isn't good is just completely wrong.

I honestly can't wrap my head around how anyone could possibly find HF to be a bad movie. 😕
It’s entertaining, sure—but let’s be real. Superficial. To the viewers—including those of you with more demanding tastes.

The movie is packed with such brilliant little moments—take the scenes where the detectives and Nick... they’re just going at it, swearing up a storm, while their wingmen toss cash into a swear jar... or that whole bit about the "legendary Code 999"... and then there's the part where Danny is strutting through town carrying a rifle that still has the police department's inventory tag stuck right on it...😂😂

Finally snagged the original DVD! Now I just gotta sit down and binge all those deleted scenes... 😬

Great movie. Those final scenes were intense—the action was handled incredibly well.

I honestly felt like I wasted my time downloading this movie at first, mostly because some forum had nothing but rave reviews about it. But man, was I wrong. I ended up loving every second—it was hilarious and the plot is just top-tier. Definitely give it a watch

The movie holds its own up until about the halfway point—it’s actually pretty decent then. But as it heads toward the finale, things just spiral into this excessive, over-the-top gunfight nonsense that I found grating. A real shame, honestly—they had all the ingredients to make something much better than this.

That's because the whole movie is basically a parody of action flicks like Bad Boys and Lethal Weapon...

I wasn't exactly blown away by Shaun of the Dead, and from what I can tell, the fanbase is pretty hardcore geek territory, which explains why there are so many movies starring Simon Pegg out there.

That’s actually why Hot Fuzz totally clicked for me! It feels like they really let loose a bit... the parody is much more obvious, and honestly, I didn't mind the goofy, lowbrow humor at all. It’s just two hours of pure fun where the time absolutely flies by. 👍

In my opinion, this is the best of the Cornetto trilogy, though Shaun of the Dead is right up there. I really hope that trio teams up again—I’d even argue The World's End holds its own, even if people tend to rate it lower. I just love that specific style, the music, and the direction.

The thing is, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost aren't even in most of the scenes together, and honestly, their chemistry is the whole reason those movies work so well.
