Gone in 60 Seconds—honestly, I’d sit there for half an hour just staring at my dream car... ELEANOR

That chase scene from the original, though? Pure genius. Has anyone else actually sat down and watched it? It came out back in '74. Sure, the acting is a total disaster, but that five-minute pursuit? Just incredible.

The movie is alright—but that car chase? Man, it just doesn't quite hit the mark, you know...

The Blues Brothers
I honestly think we’re looking at one of the most legendary car chases in cinema history.

Movies from the 70s and 80s generally hit a sweet spot where everything felt right... whereas films from the 90s onward seem to have gone overboard, often leaning way too hard into being unrealistic and over-the-top.

That’s a fair point, but that chase sequence in Ronin is genuinely top-tier. Besides, you have John Frankenheimer behind the camera—a true veteran of the craft.
Here is the first
and the second, so enjoy...

I’ve always had a particular fondness for the car chase in Bullitt, though I must admit the sequences in Duel with Denis Vivier and, of course, Mad Max are equally superb.

especially those scenes shot on the streets of San Francisco, all that downhill chaos and then jumping onto some moped... total nonsense
