Not 😬 I suppose the sequel is the superior film, featuring Marines facing off against a swarm of Alien. That’s just how that universe was meant to be. 😬

The sequel is just... okay, I suppose. They crammed in a bunch of new Transformers, but they definitely lost the soul of the first movie. There are a few funny moments here and there, but it isn't a comedy like the original, where I found myself laughing at almost everything. For instance, that simple scene where the secret agent talks to the Secretary of Defense in D.C. while they're hunting for some ancient rotary phone—his reactions and body language were actually quite sharp. 😁

The first one was somewhat passable, I suppose, but the sequel? It was quite possibly the most tedious cinematic experience of my entire life. Amen.

It’s been a while since I sat through something this much of a disaster. Of course Michael Bay directed it, because why would it be any other way? Just high-octane Hollywood garbage, I guess.

The visual effects were truly incredible🙂 across all three installments...

you can throw all the special effects in the world at a screen, but if there isn't a coherent story underneath, it's all just empty noise. and don't even get me started on those obnoxious actors who I absolutely cannot stand. the lead was the only one who actually managed to deliver a decent performance

Nothing about this movie actually works. The plot is so ridiculous it probably belongs in a Saturday morning cartoon rather than a feature film. All the action feels like empty spectacle—just noise without any actual substance worth watching. Honestly, the whole thing is just mediocre junk, yet another Hollywood cash grab designed to fleece people looking for some cheap thrills. Two hours of my life I’ll never get back.

No matter how hard I tried to find even a single redeeming quality in this movie, I just couldn't... It was honestly a total disaster. 🤦
I think I actually had more fun watching that one car commercial featuring Optimus Prime.

I suppose one shouldn't be surprised that a movie about Transformers would focus primarily on them. To be fair, this particular installment actually features some decent character work, including a few amusing performances from John Turturro, Anthony Anderson, and Kevin Dunn. It feels like in the later sequels, the director lost all sense of character development and just prioritized flashy CGI over everything else.

Man, those Transformers movies are just mind-numbing. Honestly, I could barely sit through the first two. I didn't even bother with the third one.

Look, this flick was purely for the hell of it. I just sat down, watched it, and honestly? It was a blast. No expectations, no nothing, just pure mindless fun.

If I remember right, people call this one of the best war movies ever made. Period.
It’s also a masterclass in how to pull off low-budget sci-fi. They only had like six Alien masks on set, but somehow they made it look like there were a hundred of them running around. Pretty wild.

That’s what I call solid directing. Between the reactor sequence and the attack on their hiding spot, you don't see the Aliens too often. They keep them out of the frame just enough to make it work. They're pinging. The motion tracker was going absolutely haywire—enough to make anyone lose their nerve.

Simplicity wins every time.

If it weren't for John Turturro, this would've just been another flop from Bay. Honestly, even with him, it’s not really worth a second watch. If you even bother with a second watch.

That movie was absolutely fantastic.
