1. Honestly, you can't even claim to know what makes a movie good if you haven't sat through LOTR.
2. Let's be real, every single fucking movie has decent special effects these days, so that’s never really my deciding factor when I'm picking something to watch.
3. Sure, a movie might be fun, but only if you’ve never actually heard of HP, LOTR, or SW...

My mistake, too.... I really shouldn't have stepped foot in a theater that day.
Weak plot, desperate acting, mediocre effects, and a total disaster when it comes to costume design.
It might have actually worked if the Fantasy genre hadn't already established its absolute megaclassics.
As it stands, it’s just another film aiming for blockbuster status while being nothing more than a B-production (though perhaps not in terms of budget)

Since I see Eragon was written quite a while ago—so, yeah—it really makes you wonder who’s actually copying whom.🤣

So, basically, all those fantasy books are just ripping off older myths. You could totally link someone like Aragorn to William Wallace from Braveheart—or maybe El Cid, if you're familiar with that history—and just keep going like that! It really just depends on what you happen to know.🙂

Man, even just looking at the names... you've got Aragorn, then there's Aragon, then Eragon, Eragorn, Grogrrngragrrrr... it's a total mess.🙂

Honestly, Galbatorix reminds me way too much of those characters from Asterix and Obelix, it’s almost impossible to take him seriously sometimes :-DD

The book has a really solid story... even if it feels a bit derivative, though let's face it, we weren't exactly expecting a groundbreaking masterpiece. So, the potential for a great movie was definitely there... if only they hadn't targeted such a young audience. They crammed everything into about 90 minutes just because kids under nine can't sit still for much longer than that. It all felt totally unbelievable. I was honestly hoping for something more from the final battle... but it just fell flat. By the end, I could barely keep a straight face in the theater...
I honestly think someone who hasn't even read the book might actually enjoy the movie... I guess it all just comes down to personal taste...

This movie is absolute garbage. If anyone actually thinks this flick is good, they honestly shouldn't be allowed to call themselves a cinephile or a film buff or whatever else. Scheisse !!!!!!!!!!

So, I'm actually kind of glad I skipped seeing it. 😬

Seriously, best decision you ever made—trust me on this one.

I'm with Samuel Ortiz3 on this one. Everyone’s got different tastes, so whatever... But honestly, I don't think anyone's topping Lord of the Rings. It's basically the gold standard for the genre, so we shouldn't expect too much from Eragon either...👎

Well, I heard some things from a few friends too, so I gave up on it pretty fast. One buddy of mine—who's a huge movie buff, by the way—says it's basically a massive rip-off of Star Wars (talking about the movie, not the books), and another friend mentioned how half the scenes feel totally cut short, so you're left feeling confused when it jumps to something else mid-action... 😬

So... if you've actually read the book—though I personally listened to it; there are two files available for download, about 100 MB each, totaling roughly 16 hours of content

Whatever you do, do NOT watch the movie... it's absolutely nothing special... you just can't cram everything from the book (which is fantastic, by the way) into a ninety-minute runtime

I'm telling you, you're better off just downloading those two files (Audiobook - Eragon is what you're looking for) and giving that a listen😉

The movie is a total disaster... I tried watching it three different times and gave up every single time... I honestly can't force myself to sit through more than twenty minutes of it... everything feels rushed and completely unexplained... it's just bad, plain and simple

I was watching it yesterday and honestly—I just lost it. I was cracking up.
The movie itself is pretty mediocre, but man, there were some moments...🤣

Like at the beginning when he says Galbatorix—just totally deadpan.
"I miss my stone." Honestly, I was laughing like a complete idiot.

And then there’s that part where Durza pulls Ra'Zake out of the ground with that whole exorcism thing.
Plus Brom's sarcasm—hehe.
I mean, it's just a movie—good for relaxing for a bit, I guess.

Does anyone happen to know if a sequel has been filmed yet, and when we might actually see it hit theaters?

Well, the second book is actually titled Eldest, so if you were searching under "Elden," you weren't going to find anything at all. 🙂

To be perfectly honest, the movie was a total dud. It just didn't work. The book is certainly better, though let’s be realistic—it isn't exactly a literary masterpiece either. ☕

Personally, I’m a firm believer that a dragoness should have wings—you know, bird-like, maybe even feathered at the tips. It feels more angelic—less like those oversized, typical bat wings we always see. As for the acting? Honestly, it was subpar—even some veteran actors managed to let me down here. The plot was just okay—nothing to write home about—and since I haven't read the book, I can't say for sure how it compares. Regarding Eragon, there isn't much groundbreaking about it—it feels like a lot of stuff we've seen before—a bit too much in the Tolkien vein, which is pretty common for most Fantasy works—though I actually loved seeing Black elves—it's a refreshing change since I don't get to see them portrayed that way very often. Of course, it's clearly not a bigoted production—since White actors always seem to snag the roles of being "perfect, beautiful, and brilliant."
