Best movies of 2006?

Since we're already rolling toward the end of the year, I figured I might as well open this thread. In your opinion, which movies were the best or most entertaining ones released this year that we actually had the chance to see here in the States? Please list five or six of your favorites from this year. 🙂

I did a little digging through the first few pages of IMDb, but I couldn't find a thread quite like this, so here it is. If I somehow missed it, my apologies. 😳

I can't recall if it was hitting theaters in 2006, but I think it was... which would make Munich the movie of the year (at least through November). It's an absolute masterpiece, so I'm honestly baffled why it hasn't hit DVD yet.

...honestly, V for Vendetta was one of the absolute worst movies I watched last year... probably even one of the worst from the last five years or so 😬 but I see it’s actually pretty popular around here... hey, to each their own, right? 🙂

Man, my bad. I totally mixed this up with last spring. Babel definitely wasn't my movie of the year—honestly, it was probably the exact opposite. Was there even anything decent released this year? (besides The Departed and those disappointments...) My brain is fried.

Pretty good: The Da Vinci Code, impossible mission 3 disappointment : Superman

Disappointments: Superman Returns, what it means to be a man without a mustache

...okay, okay, I get it 🙂 I was talking about the movies I've actually sat through—you know, the ones I actually had expectations for. As for slashers and that whole genre? I usually just leave those to the people who actually enjoy them...🙂
