Is this basically a free-for-all where you can post whatever you want?
Just testing out if my posts actually look the way I want them to?
Really???

Trial failed.
I used to be able to upload images without any issues. I just paste the link into that little yellow mountain icon and hit confirm. I’m not sure if I’m missing a step somewhere, because it’s just not working. Could it be an issue with me trying this on my phone?
The weird part is that when I go into the editor to tweak the link, the image shows up perfectly fine. But once I actually submit the post, both the link and the image completely vanish from the thread. 🤷

There is clearly something wrong with how you're typing the URL. Look at this mess. You have "http" and "https" doubling up. I had to manually add spaces just to keep it from breaking, otherwise the system tries to auto-format it into a broken image.

I think I figured it out. I'll just strip out those http parts and put the URL inside brackets. Is there anything else I should do to make sure the image displays directly on the forum instead of just showing up as a link? Thanks.

I stripped everything down to just what follows the http and https, then slapped a little sticker on the img tag. Let's see if this actually works.

Here’s the post above; I went straight to the page at https://www.latti.ru/img/teplox/tepl88.jpg and pasted the link into the window that pops up when you click the image.
The issue is that Chrome isn't showing https://www in your URL bar—it's just displaying what follows.
This is how the address appears in Chrome:

And this is what happens when I c/p that address into the image window. I'm not changing a single thing; I'm just pasting it as is.

cosmicbadger69, if you’re working on a PC, the easiest way is just to save the image to your hard drive and then upload it to https://postimages.org/
.
Just upload the file directly from your computer right here.

Once that's done, grab this specific link inside the circle

and paste it straight into the image field here.
I used this exact method to get those screenshots uploaded above.

Casey Bennett, thanks so much! 🙂
I managed to get this out from my phone since I'm not at my computer right now. Thanks also for providing those details on how to do it via PC. You're really kind.
Thanks again..
