Hey there.
Been in this game for about ten years now, unfortunately...
Mainly looking to weigh in on the whole Suboxone vs. Subutex thing...

@Amanda Moore30
Look, man—when you're tapering off Subotex versus Suboxone, those two pills aren't even playing the same game...
Not trying to act like a genius here, I just don't have the patience to scroll through the forum to see if this was already answered.
Subotex at 2mg (that's 2mg buprenorphine hydrochloride)
Suboxone at 2mg (which is 2mg buprenorphine hydrochloride plus a tiny 0.5mg dose of naloxone)
From my own experience, stopping Suboxone more than once resulted in a total crash where I ended up back in the gutter because I was stupid enough to think I could handle it all without a doctor. Total idiot move.

Even my doctor was telling me today that people spiral because they try to play smart and taper themselves without medical supervision. Don't do it. Seriously. You might not feel it immediately, but give it a month or two and you'll be back at square one—barring the rare exceptions.
It’s pathetic to waste four mL of Suboxone or Subotex and then spend two years struggling because you thought you were your own doctor and didn't need anyone's help. Shame on the folks at the pharmacy (myself included). Honestly? Best bet is a month in a hospital for detox, followed by a year of rehab to actually get your head straight, and then you're set. Or just stick to Suboxone until retirement. 🙂....

Anyway, I had my annual checkup today with my pediatrician—who actually helped me get clean, not that it's relevant—but I have a question:
-I don't know about other places in the US, but here in Cleveland, they don't carry Suboxone, just this other version. Back when I was in college a year ago, I used the Suboxone that was from an American original company, but I heard our local supply comes from a different manufacturer and it's way weaker. For example, I once took 4 of the 2ml doses and it absolutely floored me—left me totally dazed, which surprised me. Meanwhile, people using the other stuff had to switch to Suboxone and increase their dosage because it felt too weak. So, I'm wondering if anyone else has felt this? Just the Suboxone alone, no extra pills!!!!!

I didn't say there was a crisis... the doctor did. I was just wondering if it's even possible..🙄🙄
Is that just how it works? Once an addict, always an addict? So they just try to push Suboxone on him to get rid of the problem?🤷

Look, once an addict, always an addict—that’s just how it goes. I wouldn't necessarily agree with him, mostly because I've been there myself. I have zero interest in going back, though; we all know exactly where that road leads...
Mada you're right about the stigma. People judge addicts like they're some kind of bottom-feeders—even doctors sometimes act like you're dirt under their shoe, completely ignoring that you've crawled your way out of hell. It’s pretty grim, especially around here in the States.

I spent seven years on vacation from reality, and now I’ve been on Suboxone for about a year. It kind of works, I guess, but the damn cravings are killing me—I just can't seem to shake them. Every time I try to switch things up or take something else, I just crash and burn. Honestly, guys, it’s a total nightmare. If anyone actually knows how to get back to a normal baseline, hit me up.

I could really use some insight from anyone who has experience with these pills....

Here’s the situation: a friend was over at my apartment when she suddenly just froze up. She closed her eyes and wouldn't open them, but she wasn't actually asleep. She was wide awake, yet she started scratching her entire body—literally until she was bleeding. I had no idea what on earth was happening. Every time I tried to ask her what she took, she couldn't make sense of a single word; she just mumbled nonsense. I know she’s in recovery, and I saw those pills in her bag (either those or the Suboxone 8 mg—I don't know the difference since I'm not an expert here). Honestly, I was in total shock, just panicking because I didn't know how to help her or how long this episode would last. In the end, I had to cut ties with her. I just can't deal with that kind of chaos and complication, especially in my own home.

Can anyone tell me if this was an effect of those specific tablets or something else entirely?? (I find it hard to believe she relapsed on anything else)

There’s really only one correct answer here, and that’s that she took drugs.

A million percent.

You wouldn't even notice someone was on Suboxone, let alone see them scratching themselves raw like that.

Sadly, your assumption is off base.😢
And honestly, be glad she didn't fully overdose, because she was definitely heading down that path, and then you'd have that weight on your conscience.

I feel compelled to write this here since there isn't a dedicated thread specifically for heptanone. To give some context, I’ve been taking the exact same dose of Hepa for over six months now, and for the most part, I was functioning quite well on it. Of course, after that first month, the effects became almost imperceptible, but I suppose I still have to take it every single day just to feel like a somewhat normal human being. Even then, things seemed relatively stable.
For the last four days, though, I've been hit with withdrawal—the tremors, the shakes, all those classic symptoms of a crisis... and honestly, I haven't a clue why this is suddenly happening to me.🤷
I’ve spent so much time spiraling into my own thoughts that I've started worrying I might actually be sick, maybe even dealing with something as serious as cancer, because every single day feels like absolute hell. I imagine those of you who have dealt with these kinds of withdrawals might understand exactly what I'm going through better than anyone else.
Maybe my body is just demanding more... I don't know. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone here might be able to offer some insight or help regarding this situation?

I really blew it this time. I can't help but think back to this one psychiatrist who once told me that everything is just happening inside my own head.
Ever since then, whenever I find myself stuck in a rough patch or just feeling generally miserable, I tend to drift back to his
words.😉

I'm 53. After nine years of needles and five years on methadone, I've been steady on 32 mg of Suboxone for seven years now. I've been hunting for one specific answer for weeks, but I'm coming up empty. I just started a job in Austria. My psychiatrist was kind enough to set me up with a month's supply, but it requires me to drive over 400249 miles miles once a month to get it. I can't help but worry about what happens if the local police pull me over and find the Suboxone. I have a handwritten prescription from my doctor—though it's practically illegible—listing my regimen: 16 mg Suboxone, 1x 10 mg Norvale, 1x Misar, and 25 mg Lepatil.
My apologies if I'm in the wrong place; I couldn't find a suitable thread for this question on the forum.
Long story short: can I get this prescribed locally in Austria, and how do I handle the border crossing? Thanks.

Well, if you're registered there, have health insurance, and a doctor, then I guess it should be possible.

I’m sure I can help. The only catch is they’ll likely ask for your medical records, and since those are currently in American, we might have an issue. Perhaps you could find someone to translate them into German?
That’s exactly what I had to do when I was translating from German back into American after my appendix surgery over in Germany.
Then again, most diagnoses are written in Latin anyway, right? If they use Latin even in Germany, there shouldn't be a problem—they'll be able to figure out what's going on regardless of the untranslated report.
