My urinalysis results aren't looking so good!

A few of my urinalysis results are sitting outside the normal range. I'm trying to figure out what might be causing this and what kind of diagnosis we might be looking at.
Results:

Physical-Chemical Exam
nitrite positive normal 0-0
Blood 10/uL normal 0-10
leukocyte 500/uL normal 0-10

Microscopic Sediment Exam
leukocyte numerous normal 0-0
Erythrocytes 12-15 normal 0-2
Epithelial Cells very numerous normal 0-1
Bacteria numerous normal 0-0

I would really appreciate some feedback as soon as possible—this is quite important to me. Thanks in advance to everyone!

It appears you are dealing with a urinary tract infection. While certainly uncomfortable, it isn't anything to lose sleep over; a standard course of antibiotics should have you feeling back to normal in no time.

Yeah, alongside antibiotics. Honestly, that’s the best way to handle it if you're looking at long-term use.

You might want to get those kidneys checked out—nitrite showing up usually points to kidney issues, since a basic bladder infection shouldn't be throwing nitrites around on its own.

Cranberry is a solid call, though maybe stick to tea—you really need to flood the system with fluids to "flush" everything out.

Since there are nitrites present, I'd put the kid on a low-protein diet just to take some of the pressure off the kidneys.

And antibiotics, obviously.

Are you dealing with frequent or painful urination? What is your gender and age? Based on what you’ve described, it sounds most likely like a bladder infection, and frankly, antibiotics or urinary antiseptics are the only real way to handle that. One of the top options is Nolicin. I am, however, quite surprised your doctor didn't prescribe a course of treatment immediately, and more importantly, why did you go in for a urinalysis in the first place?

It’s used for that, among other things. Though, dealing with E. coli is a whole different beast altogether.

Thanks, everyone. My doctor put me on a course of antibiotics and confirmed it’s just a bladder infection.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Honestly, it felt like the probiotics were helping too, but I guess we're right back where we started...
