I’m sure a hundred people have already asked this before me 😁, but here goes nothing:
Can someone please walk me through the actual process of uploading an image—not just a link, but an actual visible picture—and explain why I keep failing at it? 😕
Here is my workflow: I right-click the image, select "copy image address," then go to "insert image" on the forum. A little window pops up with the http: field, I hit Ctrl+V to paste the URL, and then I submit the post... but the image never shows up. It just stays blank. 😕😕😕
Why does this keep happening? 🤷

So, when you hit that "Insert Image" button, you’ll notice it already has "http://" baked right into the field. But then, when you go to grab your image link, it starts with "http://" too. If you aren't careful, you end up with this mess:

It's pretty simple—just make sure you strip out that extra "http://" from the box before you paste your link in.

I don't know how many times I have to say this... You're dropping a link to a website when you should be posting the actual image. ☕

I usually just host them on Imgur. I'll upload an image directly to my profile and then grab the link from right under the picture—it looks something like this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/69/53257823.jpg/. When I go to insert the image, I make sure to strip out the http:// part... since I've already copied the full URL, I don't really need to add that extra bit again

Do you actually get the difference between a functioning website and just a static image? Can you really see the gap between this and that?

I get what you mean—first there's the webpage, then the image. But I'm still a bit puzzled why it pulls a URL instead of an >... this forum is definitely a little strange

I can tell just by looking at all those deleted posts how much you're struggling here. 🤦

Maybe try using the trailer feature next time? It might save you the trouble of having to scrub everything you write. 😬

I don't really see the point in cluttering things up with spam, so I'm just deleting them. This isn't my first rodeo on an online forum—though I have to admit, this one feels a bit tricky—(btw, I usually have no trouble uploading images on other sites :P). I definitely know the difference between an image file and a URL. Just to show you my process, here is how I’ve been doing it. For instance, I take the direct link from an image—like the one you used in your example—and copy the whole thing, including the http. Then, I click "Insert Image," and when that window pops up with the "http" already sitting there, I just clear out the existing "http" and paste my own link right in its place.
The end. Where am I going wrong?

Not once in any of your attempts did you actually use the direct link to the image itself (http://img69.imgur.com/img69/7876/53257823.jpg). Instead, you either dropped a link to the entire webpage (http://imgur.com/photo/my-images/69/53257823.jpg/) or just grabbed one of those auto-generated formats sitting to the right of the picture—which, let's be honest, isn't even using the standard way to upload images; you're basically just pasting raw code.

image --->>> image

Is it really that much of a struggle? 🤷

P.S. Whatever you do, don't ever try to learn programming. This goes for every single forum user out there who spends their time wrestling with how to post a simple photo. 😉

Does anyone happen to know the best way to share a link to a private album on Imgur?
Honestly, whenever I pull up the album myself, I’m never quite sure which specific URL I should be grabbing. 🤷

So, I was posting some photos just a few days ago and everything worked perfectly—they uploaded without a hitch, just like always. But when I went back to check them today, two out of the three were gone! Instead of my pictures, there’s just that tiny little broken image box with the "X" in the middle. I can't tell if I messed up the upload process—though I've honestly never had an issue before—or if something else is going on... If I'd actually done something wrong, they wouldn't have shown up right the first time, right?

It’s possible those images were wiped from the hosting server—you might want to double-check if they're actually still sitting there.

Everything seems to be working fine today—pics are showing up just where they should. Maybe my computer was just acting up earlier, or maybe it was just me! 😵
