How do I upload images and videos to the forum?

I mean, what can you even say at this point? It feels like we've been circling the same drain for months, doesn't it? Every time I think we've finally hit rock bottom, someone finds a way to dig just a little bit deeper. Honestly, it’s exhausting. You look at the news, you check the latest updates, and it's just more of the same—more noise, more chaos, and zero actual progress. Is anyone actually surprised anymore? I feel like we’re all just collectively nodding along because the alternative is admitting that everything is a bit of a mess. We sit here, dissecting every tiny detail, hoping to find some sort of pattern or logic in the madness, but maybe there isn't one. Maybe it’s just random. And if it’s just random, then what are we even doing here? Just spinning our wheels? It’s hard not to get cynical when the "solutions" being floated around seem more like distractions than anything useful. But hey, that's just my two cents. What do you guys think? Or are we all just pretending everything is fine now? The user says:
So, can someone walk me through this—can I just upload an image directly from my computer to the Reddit thread, or am I stuck having to host it somewhere else first and then just pasting the link?
I've tried this a hundred different times now—seriously, a hundred—and I keep getting hit with that same "ERROR: image exceeds Reddit quote limit" message. It’s stuck at 27 MB. What am I even supposed to do with that?
And the file size on the image is only about 5 to 8KB.
Can someone please explain what the hell is actually going on here?
Hey there.
Look, if you upload an image directly from your computer to Reddit, the server has to actually host that file. If every single person started dumping their photos here, the servers would be absolutely choked with useless junk before you could even finish your morning coffee.
So, first thing you'll need to do is grab your image and upload it to an image hosting site like Imgur. ImgurThen just toss it onto Reddit. Honestly, Imgur is such a breeze—you upload your stuff and it immediately spits out that ready-to-go copy-paste code you need for your posts. It’s pretty much foolproof. 👍

Almost there. You just need to strip out that forward slash right before the IMG in the first set of brackets.

Just move it over to your computer and upload it to Imgur. If you've got a smartphone handy, though, you can just shoot it straight to Imgur from there.

Almost there! You just missed the slash in that last bracket—it’s supposed to close out like this: [/img] 🙂
