Why am I the only one getting nowhere with this??? Honestly, I'm about to lose my mind... come on, I can't be *that* clueless, right?

vividfalcon14 said:You just head over to somewhere like Imgur, hit browse to upload your image, and then grab the link located under the IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards section to paste into your forum post. It's really that straightforward. 🙂

So, this is what I've highlighted in the picture here;

image

Clearly, we aren't even on the same wavelength.
I have an option to input the image I'm using, and then three choices pop up—like, text on the image,
The image link,
Or pick a file via browse.
I follow all the rules, right? Correct pixel count, correct file size... and then I get four more options:
Close,
Save,
Preview,
And Post.
But when I hit save, it just goes to my drafts without the actual image appearing???
What's the catch here???
Thanks in advance,

Ah, I see, you're talking about the blog settings! I'm afraid I can't be much help there, much as I'd like to, since I don't actually run a blog myself. Hopefully, one of the bloggers around here will chime in and help you troubleshoot that issue.

Best of luck,

To get an image onto your blog, simply copy the first block of code and you'll have your picture ready 😉

Now, keep in mind that if someone actually clicks on the image, they will be redirected to the specific page where you originally uploaded it—like Imgur, for example. However, can we not find a way to bypass that? Yes, we can, simply by altering the URL. For instance, this specific snippet produces the following result:

<a href="http://imgur.com" target="_blank"><img src="View on imgur" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by Imgur"></a>

So, what follows is your next step: you merely need to modify the address located right at the beginning (the part that is bolded and underlined):
<a href="http://imgur.com" target="...

By changing that link, you decide exactly where the user lands when they click. If you don't want them leaving your site, why not just input your own blog's URL instead? It is quite straightforward, really.

I do hope this proves helpful to you. Best of luck with everything!

I guess I’m still learning the hard way that you can't just upload a massive image like this; it needs to stay under 640 pixels wide to look right. 😉

I realized pretty quickly that I went a bit overboard there. Thanks for being cool about it. I really need to get a handle on this before I lose my footing, especially since I'm genuinely invested in the whole thing...😘

So, how exactly do I embed a link to an image and then layer some text right over it?
Basically, when someone clicks on the text, I want it to redirect them straight to that specific image.
I know, I feel totally silly asking, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around it!
Thanks!

Help! Does anyone know how I can shrink an image so I can actually get it uploaded? I’m finally tackling my living room remodel—honestly, the sofa and TV have been sitting there lonely for a year now, just waiting for some actual decor to join them. I have a few ideas I’m dying to share and would love to hear what you all think. Also, is there any SUPER SIMPLE program out there where I can drop a photo of the room into it and just move things around visually?

It’s pretty straightforward: just fire up Adobe Photoshop and load the photo you want to work with. Head over to the resizing options, type in your new dimensions—say, 640 pixels for both height and width—and hit okay. Once that's done, go ahead and save the file to your hard drive as a .gif, .png, or .jpg.

From there, you’ll head over here, hit browse to select the resized image, and click upload. After the upload finishes, just grab the link found under the BBCode section and paste that directly into your forum post. 🙂
