Kenneth Williams4 said:Good afternoon. I have a quick question regarding some baby gear I'm trying to sell on the classifieds. I’ve gone through the motions of organizing everything into a Picasa album and uploading it, but now I’m stuck. I can't figure out how to actually display those photos for everyone else online. I tried using "post reply," then "edit image," where I pasted the URL provided, but it isn't working. To test it, I sent a private message to myself 🙂, and all I see is a tiny white square with a red X—basically the universal icon for a broken image link. What am I doing wrong? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙂!!

Just right-click the image, select "Copy image location," click the icon, and then paste the link into the window that pops up (just right-click and paste). It’s as simple as that. 😉

P.S. — Make sure you are clicking on the actual full-sized image rather than just a small thumbnail. Essentially, the code you paste needs to end with something like .png, .gif, or .jpeg. For example: http://www.images.com/some_image/image_name.gif

Ugh, honestly, 😢 I’d much rather have this:
Look, I put together a similar slideshow using Picasa on my PC, then uploaded everything. When I go to the upload section, the projection looks great and all, but how am I supposed to show it to anyone else, 🤷? Basically, how do I get my own http://svašta something 😕?
On my Picasa slideshow page, it says "link to this album: paste the link in an email or direct message," and there's a little box underneath that says: "http://picasaweb.google.com/ivanarojope/Hranilica?authkey=Gv1sRgCPjmmam348DHAQ&feat=direct link." I assume that's my link, right? But what am I actually supposed to do with it 🙄? Do I just copy and paste it into that yellow mountain icon and email it to myself? Because when I try, I don't get a nice blue underlined link—I just get absolutely nothing 👎😢😕🙏🤷, sigh 🤷

I don't get it. How can my albums be missing when I know for a fact I uploaded them from my PC😢?

🙂🙂🎉🙂👋🙂 - I actually did it! I might have spent a bit too much time talking to myself, but your support, vividfalcon14, really helped me out. 🙂

I’m glad you finally got that sorted out. Just a quick tip for next time, though: if you have a URL for an entire webpage, you shouldn't paste that into the yellow "mountains" icon, since that specific button is designed for direct image links rather than full websites. If you follow the steps I laid out—right-click the image, select "copy image address," then hit that yellow icon and paste the link—you'll be all set.
That should give you this:

True, but I specifically need what I already have—a direct link to my image gallery that I can run as a slideshow. Can you walk me through how to create a single thumbnail to act as a cover for the rest of the collection? Basically, when someone clicks that one small preview, it opens up the full set. It should function just like a yellow folder in Windows; you click the icon, and the contents are right there. How do I pull that off, vividfalcon14, help me out here 😍?

Look, this mom has her layout set up perfectly, like this:
But when I pull up my page, I don't see that small photo acting as a thumbnail for the other three. Instead, I'm just stuck staring at one massive photo 😢. How do I fix this? I've been grinding away at it for ages and I'm getting nowhere
.

I'm actually not sure about that since I don't have an account with Google Photos, sorry. 🤷

My advice? Just shoot a DM to one of the other moms and ask if they can walk you through it. Someone will definitely step up and help you out.

There goes our resident expert, vividfalcon14, helping everyone out again. I have to give credit where it's due—hats off to him. I'm sure someone else will find the time to explain it to you, too. I actually tried signing up for Flickr myself once, but now I'm just getting bombarded with emails, all in English. And look, I'm just not great with the language... English is tough, you know? So everything is just sitting there, unread. It's a language barrier thing.
I'd love to help you, really, but I'm stuck too. And honestly, I have no idea what those emails are even asking me to do. You're better off having someone who actually knows what they're talking about explain it to you.

Good luck.😉

^^^Nice one, Ethan Barrett6. Honestly, if you don't want those annoying letters in parentheses cluttering up the space next to your photo, just wipe them out before you hit send. Then you actually end up with clean photos.

And you’re still uploading a photo that’s barely 640 pixels wide just to avoid getting flagged by the system. 😬

And why is it that next to some photos there's just X instead of an actual photo
?

It’s possible the photo was taken down, or maybe your browser just didn't load it quite right.

Does anyone know how I can upload an image I grabbed from the web and then trace over it to create something new?

It’s pretty straightforward—just grab the snippet of code labeled Thumbnail for forums and paste it right into your post. It’ll show up as a small preview, which isn't really an issue since clicking it will just pop open a new tab with the full-sized version of the image.

Best, 🙂
