Normally I wouldn't, but I'm in a good mood today.
The thing is, people think I'm a bit of a weirdo because of Evil Dead II; I've watched it a hundred times and it's easily my favorite. 😁 P.S.
If you haven't seen that one, maybe try The Day of the Beast instead—or better yet, Dequint, let's just call that my absolute favorite.

By the way, it’s an excellent and highly entertaining film, actually surpassing even Perdita Durango. I didn't expect the priest to be quite that evil (that scene where he pushes the mime into the abyss is pure madness), and Torrente is a legend!👍 Not to mention that woman in red with the balloons bouncing while she runs... and even Satan himself is pretty terrifying in that goat form...

But I can't help thinking there’s some darker subtext hidden behind the question: What else could you expect from someone whose favorite movie is Evil Dead II? Is there a deeper mystery at play here? 😬

If anyone is in the mood for more cult classics like Acción Mutante by Al Pacino, you should definitely check it out. 👍

I watched it a while back and it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth—Perdita Durango was slightly better, but honestly, neither one really hit the mark for me.👎👎

I just realized this thread was started over here too. I’ve already gone on a bit of a rant praising it over on the movie forum. Guess I'm just getting old...

Look, the movie already aired on NPR, so if you saw it, you saw it, and if you didn't, you didn't. Some people absolutely loved it, others hated it. And honestly? That's fine.

But I really have to talk about one specific scene... it's been stuck in my head since yesterday.

...So, José María and Angel have already got Professor Cavan tied up, Susan is lying there unconscious, practically dead, the pentagram is drawn... but damn it, they're missing the
virgin blood... so Angel Berriartúa sets off to find some, while José María steps out of the apartment for a second. Susan wakes up and tries to free Cavan, but of course, José María comes right back... and then the cat-and-mouse game begins... the pacing picks up, the climax hits... Susan finally makes it to the exit, throws the doors open, and who's standing there? Angel, looking all gaunt in his robe and cap, acting like some gritty action hero, just throwing punches left and right!!!

Arnie (well, a caricature of him), now that is what I call charisma!
