I’ve heard so much hype about this one, and honestly, I went in with high expectations, so I walked away feeling a little let down... though, all things considered, it wasn't a total wash. There were definitely a few standout moments—some scenes were genuinely great, while others were just incredibly tense and deeply unsettling.

I’m totally jumping on the bandwagon here—this movie was awesome! That villain's performance? Absolutely chilling. He had that creepy, twisted grin that reminded me so much of Wrong Turn 5. Honestly, that vibe gave the movie way more horror cred than all those over-the-top slaughter scenes and gallons of fake blood ever could. And can we talk about that fake teaser? They showed that guy in the pub, making you think he'd show up later as some kind of sidekick, but nope! Just a big "see ya later."
The film is packed with these killer shots of the USA wilderness—just total isolation with a serial killer hot on your heels. My only gripe is the ending; it felt a little silly to me. I've never been a fan when they keep a character completely sidelined just to have them pop up as a survivor at the very end. But hey, at least they finally gave us a normal, relatable girl instead of one of those stereotypical blondes you see in movies like Miami. I'm giving this a solid 9/10!

In my book, this ranks up there with the absolute best horror films out there. It’s grounded, it feels real, and the atmosphere is just spot on.
It isn't some typical, low-effort piece of American trash you see churned out every weekend.

I actually went into this completely blind—didn't know a single thing about it—which is honestly how I prefer to watch movies. No spoilers, no hype, nothing.
Because when people start slapping labels like "masterpiece" or "absolute perfection" on a film, they set these massive expectations in my head, and usually, I end up disappointed. But this? This one actually blew me away.

So, if you're planning on checking it out, do yourself a favor: stop reading reviews, stay away from the trailers, and just sit down and watch it. 😉

Ah, so there actually is a sequel... Nishan wasn't aware, but he just picked it up from the local video rental shop, so he'll be watching it sometime in the next day or two.

I just finished watching the second installment. Given that I rated the first one a 7.5, I’d give this one a 7.
It was slightly less impactful, mostly because there was a stretch of about seven or eight minutes that felt a bit sluggish, but everything else was excellent.
I am looking forward to the third part... hopefully it arrives sooner rather than later 🙂
By the way, the villain from the first film is absolutely devastating in this one as well!
Ultimately, I find both films—the first and the second—to be quite perverse, which only adds to the experience since they are based on true events.
Highly recommended.

I caught that on streaming last night too... It was actually a great movie and definitely lived up to the hype. Honestly, if Mick Taylor were behind the wheel of a classic old Ford Pinto, he’d probably be faster than an Audi RS 5 coupe 🙂

Acting was top-tier too—totally believable. They built this insanely unsettling vibe. It’s not even jump-scare heavy, just pure tension.

That part where they're chilling in the car and see those lights? Man, they actually flipped the script on one of those tired horror clichés. I was totally expecting the usual: "Oh, we're stuck in the middle of nowhere and heard a noise. Let's go outside and investigate!" Instead, they actually lost their shit and stayed hunkered down in the car until they were sure it was safe (even though nothing was safe, given what happens next... but you know what I mean). That was such a cool move. 🤣

Honestly, this is easily one of my all-time favorite horror flicks, and definitely stands out as one of the better recent releases out there.

I’ve already sat through it twice, but I can totally see myself diving back in for a third round sometime soon—probably later this year, actually—so wouldn't that be cool, Jacob? 😁
