Oh, come on, please

Look, the wealthy elite go to private hospitals. In private care, you pay a premium out of pocket. In public healthcare, it's free. And there isn't any extra "under the table" money involved.

But that’s kind of the whole point; in America, it isn't enough for a private doctor to just charge a fair price for their service. On top of that—and this is the kicker—they're often expected to take a little extra under the table. 🙂 🙂
I'm noticing a lot of people here getting all worked up just because someone doesn't share the popular opinion—which, I guess, is my situation with this thread.
To hell with your freedom of speech and your precious country.👎

If things are so terrible for you in the USA, then fine. If you come back from the Atlantic Ocean all sunburnt and find yourself sprinting for a bus, just watch out that you don't get shot in the back by your local European thugs. 🙂

Joe, look, if the US is "perfect," it’s definitely not. But honestly? I feel way better here than I ever did back home in America. We have freedom of speech, actual tolerance for different races and backgrounds, and real democracy. Growing up in my home country, I spent my entire life feeling like a complete outsider. I eventually moved to the States because I realized I'd much rather be a stranger in a foreign land than feel like a stranger in my own backyard. That's just how it is.
In America, you actually see people from all walks of life. Back home, if you're even slightly different, people label you with every nasty slur under the sun—calling you names, bigots, or total Dummies, etc., etc., etc.🙂
GOD BLESS AMERICA, BUT I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO LIVE THERE AGAIN.
USA 🙏 😘

What the hell is even going on here? 😂

Whatever, this thread is dead anyway. Let's talk about the USA instead 😬

good for you

the real kicker is that in America, you can't just get every single procedure done at those fancy private clinics. So, you end up stuck at the public hospital... and if you realize that without dropping some cash you're gonna be waiting an absolute eternity—but hey, you're still breathing—then you just slide them an envelope and suddenly everything's fine.

though honestly, it really just depends on which doctor you're dealing with. Not everyone is looking for a kickback, and not all of them are jerks, either! Some will go above and beyond for you... I mean, I've had my endocrinologist looking out for me for 12 years now, so I know there are good ones out there.

🤣 I mean, honestly, I’d love to know which specific group they’ve shoved you into 🤔 since you clearly aren't anything out of the ordinary... give me a break... 😂

I get it, though. I can be pretty blunt with my grandmother—she’s an old-school lady from the countryside who never had much schooling. These types tend to act polite only when someone pushes back on their level. You know, intellectually or academically... like you, or like me?

Look, sorry things turned out that way for you—really, I am—but honestly? That’s got absolutely nothing to do with some doctors in America expecting extra cash under the table for their services... it's just not like that.

For me, it definitely does. It’s just one more reason to lose respect for this country, and easily one of a dozen reasons why I’d never move back here.

Nah, that’s not really how it works.

I first met my endocrinologist back when I was a total outsider—just some kid, basically a refugee with a "wrong" accent 😉 , barely even had any health insurance (besides the bare minimum), and she treated me exactly the same then as she does now that I've finally "fitted in." She's just a genuinely good, decent person doing her job to the best of her ability.

But honestly? My academic credentials didn't do squat when I ran into those doctors who were way less qualified—the kind who just couldn't handle a patient actually asking questions 😢 jerk.

Then what the hell are you even doing hanging out on a forum for a country you hate so much?

Why not just write a novel called "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," or maybe:
"The Girl with the Wrong Accent"; or you could always just go on Oprah Winfrey.

Or just flush the toilet.🙄

Actually, sorry. I think I went a little too far there. It was just so funny what you wrote—and honestly, a bit pathetic—that I just had to say something.😁
