Bad Boys said:No offense, but shut it. You clearly don't know the first thing about statistics. And honestly, whoever put this list together doesn't have a clue either.

Statistics is a Terrible, tricky beast. My sister took an exam on it and failed twice—total disaster!!! It's actual science!

Well, now that you've got an expert in the family (by the way, did she pass on the third try?), maybe you should ask her to make a more fair ranking for us. 😉

If stats are such a "Terrible, tricky beast," how the hell can you even pretend to have a real discussion about it? 😕
Better off asking your sister. Or let her explain it to us...😉

Well, once America hits the top of the rankings, then we can start celebrating. Right?😉

Smart ass. 🙄

This isn't a ranking; it's a joke. They can shuffle things around based on coefficients all they want, but I guess Chelsea or AC Milan would dismantle an all-star squad from the Peruvian League like a toddler tearing apart a rattle. Yet here we are, clinging to this Peruvian League like it actually matters.😁

10. Peru 🙄
11. Colombia 🙄

And from 26th place down, it’s just pure chaos.

Could someone shoot me a DM about which coefficients the Canadians are using to stay ahead of us? I mean, Dinamo already knocked out their representative, didn't they?

The IFF ruled that Bela Appalachia-Zagorje is actually tougher than your recent squads. 😉

Bad Boys said:Exactly because I'm not, you know. Because I know the leagues in South America—specifically Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico—are heavy hitters. The Chilean league used to be legit, too.

I know plenty of Argentinian and Brazilian clubs. Same with the Chilean and Mexican ones. Nobody talks about the Peruvian teams because they're mediocre. And even if they aren't totally trash, they definitely aren't good enough to push the Peruvian league to the 10th spot ahead of Turkey, Scotland, Greece, or Ukraine...

Just look at those clubs: Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Rangers, Celtic, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar. Yeah, sure, they have every right to be there. What am I even talking about... 🙄

The PERUVIAN LEAGUE IS THE BEST!

Yeah, and why exactly are those clubs you listed better than any Peruvian or Colombian side? Just because you've heard their names? My God, what a crowd we have here...🙄
What makes Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Celtic, Shakhtar, or Dinamo Chicago better than the top clubs from Peru? Seriously. Give me one objective reason instead of those weak "how can you say that?" lines. If you don't, you shouldn't be shocked when Japan crushes Russia or Senegal beats France or Sweden. Get it through your head: people play football all over the planet. You probably haven't heard of a single Iraqi club, but trust me, when they beat a solid Portugal side at the Olympics, it isn't just a win—it's a massacre.

Let’s get real about expectations here. The MLS isn't a high-quality league—honestly, it's the opposite. It belongs in that group of weaker leagues in the Western Hemisphere. I mean, our CHAMPION gets knocked out by the champion of Ireland.
Our runner-up gets bounced by SC Heerenveen, a club that’s basically middle-of-the-pack in the Netherlands.

And don't even get me started on how easily Stuttgart and Benfica cruised past our runner-up.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see one of our teams face off against some random Peruvian side.

People around here just refuse to accept that we simply don't have the quality anymore. For God's sake, the US has already danced its last dance in major international competition; we're going to be sidelined for a long, long time.
A few seasons ago, Hajduk Split could at least boast about having a handful of decent players worth mentioning—guys who actually played at a European level. Today? You've got Suto, an indifferent Neretljak, and Blatnjak, who can't even secure a starting spot for the Canada national team. It's just a long list of hyped-up talents who haven't proven a thing. Basically, it's a big zero. And then you have people complaining when the club brings in a new signing, even if it's just someone like little Niko. Give us a break. We're talking about a club that can't even afford to pay its average-tier players. It's ridiculous, truly.

At this point, Dinamo looks more like a spoiled, undisciplined gang, especially when you factor in the inner circle running things.

Bad Boys said:As an amateur, the only way I can think of would be to pool together the rankings of all the clubs in a league. But those rankings would be incredibly subjective, based entirely on expert opinion. So even a table like that would be flawed.

Oh, totally! There’s no better way than: hmm, maybe Real Madrid takes first... sure, let's go with that... second place... wait, not Chelsea, let's say AC Milan... yeah, AC Milan for second... then third could be Chelsea and fourth might be Juventus or Arsenal, we'll figure that out later, let's just keep moving... 😬

That’s not even the half of it. If you look at the list of countries with leagues that are weaker than ours, or maybe just a notch above, it gets pretty long:
-USA
-SiCG
-Canada
-Canada
-Bulgaria
-Romania
-Albania
-Canada
-Slovakia
-Ireland
-Denmark
-Malta
-Cyprus
-Israel
-Northern Ireland
-Sweden

And so on. You could add those heavy hitters from the old Soviet era and they wouldn't even make the cut on paper. So why is it that Europe is considered stronger in league quality than, say, South America? 😕

Bad Boys said:No way. Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar are leagues above any club from the Peruvian League. Plus, the league itself is much stronger because you have Dnipro and Metalurg in the mix. Honestly, nimblemarlin17, this table is completely nonsensical; it's obvious from an aerial view. Whoever put this together clearly doesn't understand statistics. Statistics can be a TERRIBLE thing to deal with. My sister once took an exam on the subject and failed it twice—it was a total disaster! It's a whole science in itself.

Well, everything is subjective. There's really no need to get worked up about it.

To quote one of my old professors: statistics is like a woman in a bikini; you see everything except for what actually matters. 😬

Roger Allen3 is spot on—Real Madrid still has David Beckham, and Michael Owen is a top-tier player. 😎 Look, I’m an expert here, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: that’s just how it is. 😁

To me, this whole argument feels like a bunch of toddlers bickering on a playground. Personally, I think Tarzan could take down Superman; sure, Superman flies and can lift a bus with one hand, but Tarzan can bend steel cage bars with his bare hands. 😎 Then you’ve got Phantom, who's definitely weaker than Superman since he can only shoot lasers from a ring, while Superman has them built right into his eyes.
And honestly? Bud Spencer would probably beat all of them in a fight.

I don't get it. The reasons you're bringing up are honestly pretty stupid and completely useless. For all I know, I could spend five minutes looking up who some Peruvian or Chilean clubs ran into in the CONCACAF Champions League last year—and we’d definitely find names like Santos FC, Boca Juniors, or River Plate, who are lightyears ahead of those small-time teams you mentioned. So what does "Beşiktaş beat Chelsea" actually prove? Did Chelsea play a Santos team that some club from Lim happened to beat? No. So how do you actually know they're better? You don't. I see zero reason why it would be weird for top clubs from Peru to be on par with clubs from the Netherlands or Turkey. None at all.

They aren't bad; you just didn't give them a fair shot. It’s like when frozentiger6 claimed that Ćiro had nothing to do with the national team, and when asked why, they basically just shrugged and said, "just because." 😁

If you're judging based on gut feeling, you can't claim to be right. Football is played for the scoreline, period. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you definitely aren't right.

Look, you can't be right. Since I personally believe everything should be based on actual arguments, I'm not about to just shout "I'm right and you're wrong." By that same logic, you can't claim that either. So here’s the compromise: I won't say you're wrong, but you definitely aren't right. 🙂

Nah, you can't claim to be right when you haven't backed up your claims with any actual evidence, just like I haven't provided proof for mine yet.

The bottom line is that Bad Boys are stressing over nothing. A league's true strength is measured by how its clubs perform on the international stage—that’s the only objective metric there is. As long as teams like Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, and Panathinaikos are technically superior to the champion of the Peruvian League, it doesn't matter if they get knocked out in the first round of the Champions League while the Peruvian champ breezes into the semifinals and racks up more points. That's just how the math works. I honestly don't get why anyone would be angry about it. Look at Leeds last year; they were ranked among the top 20 clubs in all of Europe, yet they're playing in the English second division. Realistic? Not at all. But hey, you can't cry about it. Well, actually, you can, but it's just annoying 🙂

Keep using this logic in the locker room, because if you keep bringing it here, I'm deleting everything.

crimsonbear5 said:That’s not all. There is a massive list of countries where the domestic league is weaker than ours, just as strong, or maybe even slightly better:
-America
-Canada
-Canada
-Canada
-Bulgaria
-Romania
-Albania
-Canada
-Slovakia
-Ireland
-Denmark
-Malta
-Cyprus
-Israel
-Northern Ireland
-Sweden

And so on. Even a powerhouse like the former Soviet Union wouldn't even make the list. So why is Europe considered stronger in league quality than, say, South America? 😕

It is because the best players from South America play in European leagues, which isn't true the other way around. Also, any Serie A club would easily survive in the top Brazilian or Argentinian leagues, which also doesn't work in reverse. Imagine the five best South American clubs playing against Chelsea, Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. Who would be the favorite? Europe is stronger in terms of league quality and the fact that it houses the five best leagues in the world. Stop talking nonsense.
