Goalkeeper:
-Lev Yashin

Defense:
-Franco Baresi
-Berti Vogts (he’d just break their legs)
-Marcel Desailly
-Paolo Maldini

Midfield:
-Johan Cruyff
-Franz Beckenbauer
-Roberto Baggio
-Diego Maradona

Attack:
-Gerd Müller
-Michel Platini (yeah, I'm putting him up front because the guy knows how to score)

Here is how that looks:
------------------------------Lev Yashin

Vogts-------------Baresi----------Desailly---------------Maldini

-----------------Cruyff---------------Beckenbauer

----------------Baggio--------------Maradona

------------------Platini

--------------------------------Muller

Sdrafac says: wherever the hell did Pelé go?

I held off on posting this because I knew you'd all jump down my throat and call me biased. 😁

Yeah, honestly, looking at this list, we’re still missing Hidegkuti... wouldn't you agree?🙂

Sdrafac says: Oh, right—I bet you guys would probably throw Hidegkuti onto that list too... am I hitting the mark there?🙂

Alright, let’s get serious for a second 😁:
Grošić - Buzanski, Lorant, Lantoš - Božik, Zakariaš - Budai, Kočiš, Hidegkuti, Pele, Cibor
(on the bench: Schlosser, Sarosi, Susa, Albert, Bene, Mesölj, Göröč, Dunai, Töröčik, Njilaši, Detari)

I know you're being a bit of a meathead here...
but just listen....
all those guys you listed? If they were playing against today's pros, they'd get absolutely smoked—and that's just how it goes, right? Sports evolve... players level up... basically, we're seeing the highest quality soccer ever played right now... way better than back in the day....

I mean, you'd have to be pretty thick not to see that today's players are objectively better than the old guard... it's kind of a joke, really...

I mean, isn't it true for every sport? These current superstars will look like amateurs in 20 or 30 years, right?
But man, I would love to see those legends from back in the day if they actually had access to the training and nutrition these kids have now! That’s the real question. We’d probably need some sci-fi cloning or crazy supercomputer algorithms to even make that happen.
Think about it—these modern players are working within these insane high-tech systems, doing specialized individual training, working with sports psychologists, pumping themselves full of proteins, vitamins, supplements... hell, who knows what else they're taking? You've got MRIs, CT scans, laser surgery—all the tech perks of our era. And let's not forget the money side of things; most of these guys have set themselves and their entire extended families up for life by the time they hit 21. Back then? Those guys were playing for peanuts—maybe enough for a burger and a soda after the game!
