Personally, I thought the plot and the look were totally fine. I’m strictly against messing around with new technology on classics like this—especially when it comes to "improving" the picture quality or whatever other nonsense they try to pull.

I actually love watching old sci-fi movies like this. The special effects are half the fun for me.😉

We aren't really talking about making things better here; it’s more about basic restoration since celluloid simply has such a limited lifespan.
And honestly, that version from Saturday was an absolute crime—it was likely some low-quality copy sourced from before the digital age actually became a thing.

Man... I didn't even bother reading what everyone else was saying before this, but the second I saw the title of this thread😍

That was actually the very first sci-fi movie I ever watched. I must have been maybe 8 or 9 years old, and I remember being totally glued to the screen... just completely mesmerized. By the end, I was just sitting there, stunned. It’s such an incredible film. Honestly, I haven't had the energy to sit through it again lately, and regarding what you guys were saying about the visuals being ugly... yeah, I get that, but it doesn't change how good it is.
