It looks like Americans won't be able to fund the race at Indianapolis anymore, at least as things stand right now. Unless the government steps in to save the day, we might not see an American Grand Prix next year. 😢

"None. None."

Hopefully it doesn't turn into a disaster. They always used to put on great races there.

Look, whenever they run out of actual things to talk about, those Americans just slap a headline on the front page about Indianapolis Motor Speedway dropping off the calendar, or some nonsense from Coulthard claiming next season belongs to him... Honestly, ever since I started following Formula 1, it's always been the same old story about Indy falling off the schedule... nothing to really worry about.

In all my years following Formula 1, every time they say a race is getting cut... nothing ever happens.

It honestly feels like they might have actually pulled it because the teams are pushing for a 17-race season instead.
As long as the race in Canada stays on the schedule, I guess it's fine...

Damon Hill: "It's very sad. The sad fact is, the show goes where the money is, and that should worry every true motor racing fan."

If that’s actually the case, we’re looking at a total tragedy...
Personally, I’d push for a 25-race calendar. Have a race every two weeks and maybe we wouldn't be stuck staring at a massive gap between seasons. It makes zero sense for these multi-millionaire suits to take a five-month vacation while the rest of us are left hanging. If they’re claiming they need the downtime because they're overworked, then fine—tell them to cut back on the testing sessions instead...
But honestly? It feels like those afternoon races are becoming a relic. We're probably going to be waking up at the crack of dawn just to catch the action more and more often...

I’m just crossing my fingers that they don't scrap Indianapolis from the schedule next, because I’ve been dreaming about heading out there next year to see that track decked out in Ferrari colors... 😁

assuming they don't kick it off before then.... (and I mean the actual team, not just the colors)

But honestly, it would be such a shame. It’s a genuinely good track... 😢

It feels like the racing calendar in Europe is just steadily shrinking while everything else stays exactly the same... Honestly, though, I was relieved to see they brought Spa-Francorchamps back after being sidelined for a season.

With this move, Bernie has essentially confirmed what most fans have suspected for a long, long time now... he simply couldn't care less about Formula 1...
His only real priority is lining his own pockets, and if he manages to wreck the sport in the process, well, that’s just collateral damage to him...

Personally, I am genuinely hoping that all the big powerhouses in 2005 decide to take matters into their own hands and launch their own series, managing the teams themselves rather than dealing with the way Bernie is running things right now... I mean, look at the logic—he'd probably ditch Indianapolis just because he’s short a few million dollars... but what about those thousands of loyal fans who show up faithfully year after year? They just get screwed over, don't they? And then Bernie has the nerve to call himself an American patriot??

The only thing that would truly make this situation better is if Bernie loses everything in that massive lawsuit against the banks...

The bottom line is this: let's scrap Canada, Monaco (and maybe Bahrain too... it was pretty dull for a year there), and instead bring back Indianapolis and those classic, legendary tracks... rather than these new nonsense layouts designed by Herman where the goal is just to cram 80% of the track with turns followed by a straightaway, thanks to Tilke...

I just wanted to "make a point"... regardless of how glamorous Monaco might seem, the reality is that the track conditions are way, way worse than at other circuits... the safety standards are significantly lower, but there's that "prestige" factor at play—basically, it's just a massive money maker for Bernie.

Monaco is honestly such a disaster; there hasn't been a decent race there since the days of Senna and Prost, and even those felt a bit dull. The only thing you really see there is a massive pileup of wrecked cars, especially when the rain hits, which usually makes the whole thing a mess. Still, it is a legendary track, so I'm not sure if they should scrap it. On the other hand, we definitely shouldn't touch Indianapolis; it’s the premier American race and always stays interesting because of the unpredictable weather and all those classic McLaren victories.😁Looking at this current season with these ultra-safe tracks and schedules designed specifically to avoid any rain, we might as well just put a giant roof over every circuit so everyone can drive in the dry.🙄It feels silly to me. We used to have at least three or four rainy races a year, but this season has been pretty dry.👎

Personally, I actually enjoyed this year's Monaco race! 😁

Word on the street is that the US government might step in with some cash to keep Indianapolis on the calendar...

That idiot Bernie has been trying for three years straight to rig it so it never rains on any track... but he'd need to be Bog to pull that off. Since he isn't, he's just settling for having rain hit maybe one or two out of seventeen races.

But Monaco is always a bore... I recall back when, if I remember correctly, Senna fended off those attacks from Prost... Prost was running on fresh tires while Senna was basically driving on toothpicks... and yet, he still couldn't be overtaken. That's about all there is to say about Monaco...

We ought to simply stop calling these "races" and instead call them what they are—events where we might actually get lucky enough to witness an overtake...

As long as we keep the race in Canada, I guess it doesn't matter much...

Look, Canada is legendary—it's practically right around the corner too!

Honestly, we should be talking about those kinds of races first—not the ones where you can actually see people overtaking...

That wasn't Prost, that was Mansell Mansell.

Mansell Mansell was literally driving from one side of the track to the other just to keep Senna right on his bumper, but he simply couldn't get past. When they finally climbed out of their cars, both of them looked so exhausted and drenched in sweat, you'd have thought they had just run a multi-mile sprint.
