The MM center is part of SC, right?

And does anyone offer a ride to downtown New Jersey City once the Midnight screening wraps up? The die-hards definitely have the upper hand there.

I caught the 8:00 PM screening tonight.

The lineup kicked off with a short Spanish flick called Ann and Manuel. Itโ€™s about this guy who breaks up with his girlfriend, and she ends up getting a dog just to cope with the heartbreak. ๐Ÿ˜
It was actually quite sweetโ€”the cinematography was gorgeous, which really helped pull you into the mood.

After that, we moved on to an Iranian feature titled Unfinished story. It tackles the heavy subject of illegal migration in Iran. I found it to be incredibly realistic (or at least, it certainly felt that way), balancing humor with some truly gut-wrenching moments.

All in all, it was a solid start to the evening. ๐Ÿ‘

Absolutely nobody is saying anything here๐Ÿ˜•
The SC is totally dead, so where did you all disappear to? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I finally sat down and watched Osama today. Spoon, thanks for the suggestion ๐Ÿ‘

Saw Osama yesterdayโ€”absolutely perfect film. Honestly, I think that short Carlo flick before Osama was legendary too ๐Ÿ™‚. Wish I hadn't bailed on Mean Creek, but Iโ€™m definitely hitting up At Amidz Idriz's today.

I am currently facing such an overwhelming backlog of movies! I find myself constantly rushing around, trying desperately to catch up on everything, but honestly, I just haven't found the extra time to sit down and write comments yet...

"Czech Dream" and "Garden State" are the next up on the list.
"Czech Dream" is playing tonight (Thursday), followed by "Garden State" tomorrow night (Friday).

Dammit. I was really looking forward to seeing Garden State tonight. Itโ€™s going to be packed at the premiere tomorrow... damn it. Well, whatever. We'll just go tomorrow...

Tomorrow works better for me.
I thought about going today, but I can't make it work. Honestly, the schedule change is a relief.
Hopefully, it won't be too crowded.๐Ÿ˜

Anytime works for me. It's not like I have anything major going on at midnight, but tomorrow will definitely be way more crowded than tonight would have been.

Woohoo now! ๐Ÿ™‚
I finally convinced myself I can make it to the Garden State tomorrow, since I couldn't swing it today. ๐Ÿ™‚

Quick question for everyoneโ€”regarding those free screenings in SC (like Garden State and Supersize Me), do you actually need to pick up tickets beforehand, or is it just a matter of showing up and walking in?

Hey everyone, if you can, try to grab seats as close to the screen as possible and stay centered in the theater, because the subtitles are positioned so low on the frame that being 6'3" in the 7th row made it impossible for me to see a single thing!!!!!!!

P.s. if you realize you're sitting too far back, don't stress outโ€”just take advantage of the intermission or a short film to move closer to the front during the main feature...

Enjoy the show

Oh, I almost forgot to mention ๐Ÿ˜ต I caught "How I Killed a Priest" today
and it was honestly great; I don't have any specific critiques, but the pacing of the drama felt just right (for my taste, at least)

Just show up and you're set. At least, that's what I was told...

My first major disaster of the day๐Ÿ™„
After they pushed the Garden State screening back to midnight tonight, we finally got nothing at all.
First off, they rolled the wrong movieโ€”the one thatโ€™s actually supposed to play tomorrow. After about ten minutes of pure chaos and people shouting, they realized they had the wrong file loaded.
Then we just sat there waiting for about half an hour๐Ÿ™„ during which hardly anyone even bothered to show up and tell us things would be starting soon.
And thenโ€”technical difficulties. No movie. It was already nearly 12:45 AM.
They ended up playing some documentary instead. To be fair, it was actually good; credit where credit is due.
But stillโ€”I honestly don't get how a mistake this massive can happen.

Does anyone have Garden State on DivX? ๐Ÿ˜

On the bright side, Supersize me is playing today at 4:00.๐Ÿ‘

Regardless, I just don't get how an error like that can even happen.

Itโ€™s pretty simple, really. It was the second to last day of the Sundance Film Festival 2004, and this was the very last screeningโ€”the tenth one of the day. The crew has been on their feet since early morning, and by midnight, everyone at the central hub is basically running on fumes and caffeine, so mistakes like this are bound to happen (especially when you throw a few unlucky circumstances into the mix)... So, yeah. We all feel terrible about it.

Let's hang in there for one more day.

Oh my goodness, you all really had quite the ordeal with those technical glitches yesterday!!!
First off, the opening feature didn't even start until 9:00 PM instead of 8:00 PM, and then the audio was either crackling incessantly or just deafeningly loud... honestly, I eventually just had to pack up and leave because I simply couldn't take it anymore!

Yeah, itโ€™s a real shame Garden State wasn't on yesterday. I'm hoping they follow through on those half-promises and show it today. The documentary was solid, I'll give it that, it's just too bad the director showed up late and missed most of it...

The > for > was pushed to tonight, but in the end, nothing happened.
They played the wrong movie firstโ€”the one meant for tomorrowโ€”and after ten minutes of pure chaos and shouting, they finally realized they messed up the playback.
...

Does anyone have > on >? ๐Ÿ˜

Look, I told the technician they had the wrong film playing just a minute before the crowd started losing it, but they were totally clueless. They had > running without subtitles, and then the subtitles for > showing up without the actual movie. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Even a > couldn't find > on > (or DVD).

If anyone is dying because they missed > or if you actually liked the film, shoot me a PM.

The Sunshine State should finally be showing tonight (Saturday) at midnight over at the MM Gallery. Is this our third stroke of luck? ๐Ÿ˜‰
