I watched the exact same thing last year. Sure, it's just a preseason tournament, but they only brought out the heavy hitters last time. They actually looked like they gave a damn when they scored. 😁

It feels more like an exhibition match now—the big names aren't even hitting the pitch. They've got the games scheduled for the 30th and 31st over in Toronto, by the way.

I was watching some mindless news on local TV yesterday and they were running promos for the "FIFA Club World Cup on ABC starting July 24th." Today is Celtic vs Chelsea, and I'm guessing tomorrow might be Bayern Munich vs Manchester United, but if anyone actually knows what's going on, let me know. I don't trust a single word coming out of ABC; the whole tournament feels like nothing more than a bunch of glorified friendlies...

We're talking about ABC here. Anyone with half a brain knows they lie constantly. This is just a series of exhibition matches rebranded as the "World Series 2004." It's a joke because almost none of these teams even won their domestic leagues this year.

I said basically nobody. Unless AS Roma, Chelsea FC, Bayern Munich, Liverpool FC, and Manchester United somehow got awarded titles after the fact. They should have just called those games what they actually were: friendlies.

I suppose there isn't any discernible logic behind selecting these specific clubs. Some are champions, while others haven't seen a title in years... And if they were actually aiming for the elite tier, they missed Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan, and even a few South American sides...

So, I caught the game yesterday, and honestly, who knows? The subs were pretty much useless. It felt like most of the Chelsea FC squad was out there, just minus Didier Drogba. Because looking at the standings, the Boston Celtics have 4 wins, Liverpool FC has 3, Bayern Munich has 1, while everyone else is sitting on 2. What kind of nonsense logic is that?

I mean, I guess every club just plays as many matches as they feel like putting in their preseason schedule, right? It's all about what works for them.

And that whole thing about the "World Cup"... honestly, it’s probably just because of how Americans see things. Good call on putting that in quotes, though.

I mean, honestly, it might be worth checking out. Just some good, easygoing soccer and six goals on the board? Sounds pretty solid to me.

The matchup between the Boston Celtics and Chelsea FC was quite a compelling contest.
It seems Arjen Robben is destined to become the next major superstar in English soccer.

I suppose I’ll be watching Manchester United vs. AC Milan and Chelsea FC vs. AC Milan.
The scheduling is a bit of an issue, though, especially considering the time zones here in the States...
