This is where we should start predicting how these new managers at the big European clubs will actually fare...

Yesterday, Del Bosque managed to snag his first trophy with Beşiktaş! Some Austrian cup—won on penalties, too... Do you think he actually has a shot in Turkey? Personally, I thought his tenure at Real Madrid was quite creative—he really gave McManaman a chance, and even brought in that defensive Brazilian player, I can't recall his name right now... "Cambioš" or something like that...

And what about Keiros over at Chelsea?
Or Trap in Portugal?

If you ask me, Inter made a mistake picking Mancini. I mean, the man is strictly an Eriksson's disciple...🙄

Capello joining Juventus wouldn't be such a bad move if he wasn't bringing someone like Zebin along with him. 🙄

It's been an incredible stretch; players are jumping ship from Roma, and Milan is back on top again.

As for Mancini, honestly, even Saint Peter couldn't have helped Inter during the last two decades. Now they don't even have any players left...

It isn't Queiroz at Chelsea, but rather Mourinho (from Porto), who is basically a specialist at building great teams out of nothing.

The Italian national team landed Lippi, while the French are still begging for Wenger, even though Platini wants someone more niche, like Jean Tigana.

Naturally, the Germans are eyeing Rehhagel, the Greek God.

Meanwhile, aside from the group of American players over at PAOK, there's just talk about them bringing Vulić in to coach. They're blind!

Otto Max (if you know what I mean) is taking over the Kuwaiti national team to try and improve their football quality. 🙂

Trap isn't worth much to me; despite all his trophies, he just doesn't fit the style of fast-paced Portuguese football.

Trap is going to run into a wall at Benfica, just like Mancini did at Inter Milan. Eventually, it'll sink in that Inter is a club built for losing, with absolutely zero chance of winning anything for a looooong time...

Why would anything ever be simple when it can be complicated instead? So, following that disaster at Euro 2004, they lost faith in good old Voller. He actually managed to take them to being runners-up in the world with that same style of play, only to lose the finals because of Klinsmann, who was clearly devastated after the Euros. When that firing happened, they were looking for the best possible move and basically begged big Otto for help. Even though he turned them down—preferring to stay the king of his own small town rather than dealing with the headache of the big city—the DFB isn't backing down. They still want the absolute best, though who knows if anyone will step up. I didn't say they definitely will; I just said they're still holding out for a real Otto.

I think I read somewhere that the great Otto Max signed an agreement with Greece through 2008.
If that's true—then I can only hope he stays home... or perhaps they could just bring in our promising Otto 🙂

Maybe some Kuwaiti citizen gets American citizenship and then Otto brings him over. It probably wouldn't be any worse than what happened with Klose; living in Brazil definitely didn't do his career any favors!

if I'm following this right, it doesn't even matter how long his contract with Greece lasts because he has zero interest in coaching the US national team because of Beckenbauer. It's like how certain legends are viewed back home... anyway, Beckenbauer and Otto had this massive falling out way back when Otto was still tearing it up at Bayern Munich. They’re still not on speaking terms, and Otto has made it pretty clear he has no desire to lead the US squad.😉

The guy claims there isn't some long-term deal signed with the Greeks through 2008, but rather that he already has an agreement in place until 2006.

My apologies, what a total brain lapse on my part... Regardless, the question remains: now that there's no longer a "scrappy underdog" setup, but rather a boss who expects instant results without having hand-picked every single player himself, will he actually find quick success? There's simply no time left for "team building"...🙄

Looking at Mancini—I honestly can't decide who's the bigger loser here: Inter Miami, stuck with Eriksson's protégé, or Mancini, tied to a club that feels cursed?! And given they're picking players who look more like wax museum exhibits than athletes, I don't see much hope for Inter this season either...🙄

Exactly. That guy Cambiasso—unassuming, sure, but incredibly useful—he basically covered the entire right flank... He, Makelele, and Helguera were really the only ones putting in any actual work at Real Madrid.

FLEMING, the player you mentioned was likely Cambiasso; I can't think of anyone else quite like him.

On the betting boards, our Otto is looking better for the new German manager spot than Greece did before the EP. 🙂 The odds are 1:99.00; Rehhagel still seems to be in the running, maybe worth a small wager at 1:7.00; the heavy favorite is former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid player, Breitner, sitting at 1:4.50!
