rapidraven4 said:Alright... thanks... though I think I’ll probably just go get checked out by a doctor first...

Should I head straight to a specialist, or should I start with my primary care physician?

I'd suggest seeing your primary care doctor first. As far as I know, you'll need a referral to see a specialist, unless you're planning on paying out of pocket for a private visit...

Jack Lopez63 said:Listen, folks, I’m telling you—homemade calendula oil that’s less than eighteen months old is hands down the best remedy for hemorrhoids. All those expensive ointments you find at the drugstore? They're nothing but a total rip-off.

Well, that didn't do much for me either. In fact, I think it actually made things a little worse.😢.

Grace Martinez56 said:Thanks for the advice. I gave that a shot, but it feels like the largest one—the one heading toward my groin—didn't actually come out from the inside. I've got a growth on my skin..:

I feel the exact same way. For a while there, I wasn't even sure if it was a mole—I honestly thought it was just a little skin tag.🤣)

Grace Martinez56 said:I'm heading out to pick up some Pilexa tomorrow. I've heard several people recommending them, even though you weren't exactly a fan. Clearly, we don't all react the same way to things. I think I'll stick to the conservative methods first.
Did I mention that I'm declaring total war on them? ☕

Who recommended Pilex to you? Was it someone from the RL group? All I’ve heard about Pilex is through commercials or from some sketchy characters on this forum.

Charles Morris11 said:I see some people mentioning that their hemorrhoids keep coming back after physical exertion. Does that mean those prone to them should just quit the gym entirely? Should we all just give up on working out altogether?

I’m curious about this too. Things actually flared up a bit after my last workout, even though I didn't push myself particularly hard. I decided to take a break for a while, but I started back up again today, so we'll see how it goes.

A friend of mine who's a doctor suggested I shouldn't rush to an appointment just yet and try some topical creams first. Following that advice, I tried FactSet, Ultraproct, and some St. John's Wort oil, but nothing worked. FactSet did absolutely nothing, and honestly, the Ultraproct and the oil actually made things a bit worse. Now I'm thinking about trying Hemoprocin, Proctolog, and Detrelax, though at this point, I'm starting to think my chemistry is just resistant to everything.

And eventually, I’ll just try Pilex and claim I’m all cured 🤣.

Alright, I’m new to this forum and it’s pretty clear I’ve run into a bit of an issue 🙂
I have a question... has anyone here ever dealt with an external hemorrhoid that seemingly turned purulent?
To be honest, I’ve already scoured the internet for everything there is to know about perianal abscesses... but aside from the fact that this looks infected, I don't have any other symptoms. There’s no pain (though it is certainly uncomfortable), no itching, and no bleeding....
On the first day, it presented like any standard hemorrhoid: large, red, and slightly bluish at the tip. I applied some FactSet ointment, which helped reduce the swelling, but by the second day of application, the top had turned this yellowish-white color. It is still shrinking, but the discoloration persists... (right now I'm using Proctolog because the pharmacist suggested it as a "stronger" alternative)
I have read everything I can find online, and frankly, I am completely lost... I'm quite confused about what to do next 😕
And to make matters worse, it’s Saturday, so nothing is open until Monday except for the ER.
Any advice or ideas?

Chloe Gomez6 I don’t know, maybe I’m just getting older and more cynical, but does anyone else feel like we’re all just circling the drain lately? It feels like every time you turn around, there’s some new crisis or some massive corporation like Goldman Sachs making moves that somehow end up hitting our wallets directly. You look at the news and it’s just one thing after another, isn't it? Like, how are we supposed to stay sane when everything feels so volatile? I was sitting there thinking about it earlier—just staring out the window, wondering if anyone actually has a plan for this mess—and honestly, it just makes you want to retreat into a quiet little small town in the US and forget the whole circus exists. But then again, even there, you can't really escape the reach of everything, can you? It's exhausting, truly. Just constant noise and constant movement without any real direction. Is it just me, or is the whole vibe of the country just... off? I don't know, maybe I'm just getting old and cynical, but does anyone else feel like we're all just spinning our wheels lately? It feels like everything is constantly shifting under our feet, doesn't it? One day you think you've got a handle on things, and the next, the whole landscape looks different. Is it just me, or is there this general sense of exhaustion settling in everywhere? It’s hard to stay optimistic when it feels like you're constantly reacting to the latest chaos instead of actually living your life. Honestly, sometimes I wonder if we're all just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Does that make any sense, or am I just overthinking the whole mess?
Who on earth actually suggested Pilex to you? Was it someone from the local neighborhood group? Because honestly, all I’ve ever heard about Pilex comes from those obnoxious TV commercials or from some sketchy characters lurking around this forum.

So, I was chatting with someone over at Pfizer the other day, and they were giving me the lowdown on how certain medications work. They mentioned that while some people find relief almost instantly, for others, it’s like taking nothing at all—it just doesn't touch the problem. It really makes you wonder, doesn't it? Why is it that one person can take a pill and feel better in minutes, while someone else is left staring at the clock waiting for a miracle that never comes? It’s all so unpredictable.
Honestly, they just completely retreated on me, which actually caught me off guard because of how massive they were and just how many there were in total—I didn't even get a chance to reach for the Pilexa before they vanished. Still, I'm playing it safe and messing around with that FactSet ointment, just in case things decide to act up again.

William Moore142, you seriously need to grab some antibiotics, man—this isn't exactly the kind of thing you want to just sleep off. You’ll probably need an antibiotic cream too, but honestly, you should just get a hold of your doctor before you try anything else. And for heaven's sake, just keep washing it, over and over, with plain lukewarm water. It sounds simple, but it really is that important.

Some good news—it’s turned red.😁
Honestly, if someone had told me just a week ago that I’d be this thrilled about a red hemorrhoid on my esteemed backside...😉
Regardless, I am definitely making an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. I have no intention of letting this happen again if there is any way at all to prevent it. Plus, based on everything I've read on the forums here...😲
I mean, up until now, I’ve usually only dealt with a single external one...
And yes, of course I practice good hygiene🙂—to be perfectly honest, I don't think I do much else. Yesterday, I headed to the bathroom just to grab some dental floss and ended up stripping down entirely...😵
...which is clearly just paranoia at work.
By the way, thanks to Larry Richardson6 for the advice (and I sincerely hope your hemorrhoid-free streak continues).
👍

Some great news over here too!
They finally disappeared after two weeks, and honestly, I can't say for sure exactly why because I was tinkering with so many different things at once.

First off, I stopped using this specific hair supplement because I’d been dealing with facial eczema for over a month, though that seems to be clearing up now as well.
I also spent about a week applying St. John's Wort oil to my hemorrhoids, and I made sure to stick to cold showers for relief. And, if you can believe me, maybe even a Kinder Egg helped 🙂. I actually took that little plastic toy capsule from inside the egg, froze it, and placed it against the area twice—just held it there, I didn't push it in 🙂. By the very next day, the discomfort had lessened significantly... I don't know the science behind it, but all that matters to me is that it's gone.

Great, if it stays that way. But usually, things just start acting up again the moment you eat something that doesn't sit right with you.
Stick to the diet!
I let myself go for a few days—mostly dry food, tea, sandwiches, blah blah blah—and ended up with such hard stools that there was actually some blood on the toilet paper.
Hard stools are lethal. I have no idea if it was internal hemorrhoids or just a burst capillary from being so backed up.
The next day I switched back to fruit, veggies, and soup, and everything went back to normal.

Ugh, here we go again... I can feel that pain creeping back up on me... down there and just, uff... honestly, I think my coffee habit is totally wrecking me. I’ve been guzzling so much coffee with milk lately, and I really need to start cutting it out. I was reading up on it, and apparently, it triggers this massive acid reflux situation that just eats away at your stomach and intestines—it's gross, grr... I already quit smoking, so if I can just ditch the caffeine too, I might actually be able to finally relax and just pass out peacefully ☕

Haha, you're absolutely roasted!🙂
I'm going vegetarian if this keeps messing with me!
I cut out coffee ages ago, now I probably need to ditch soda too!
The biggest friend is just complaining, but unfortunately we have less and less time to go for walks and stuff. You've gotta make the time for it instead of sitting around all day like a total couch potato!

I spend a huge chunk of my day sitting down at a desk, and lately, I’ve been dealing with this stinging sensation around my rear whenever I go to the bathroom—especially if the toilet paper is a bit rough. I’ve also noticed some blood on the paper. Maybe I just irritated the skin, or maybe it's something more serious?
Thanks, everyone.
P.S.
I stumbled upon this link:

Try eating less dry food and stick to more soups and stuff to stay hydrated! Also, try using ice to soothe things until they don't feel like a swollen knot, but definitely see a doctor—they can prescribe a cream. I went through the exact same thing once!

I don't know about you guys... but I am losing my mind here—completely losing it because of these damn hemorrhoids. It feels like there's constant pain down there, and even though I’m hitting the bathroom once a day like clockwork, the sheer anxiety from the discomfort is driving me up the wall. I'm constantly applying creams, washing, cleaning... basically everything except cutting out that freaking coffee. Honestly, I’m starting to think it’s doing me more harm than good (not to mention how it spikes my blood pressure, but I bet it messes with my brain chemistry too). So yeah, I'm feeling pretty 👎

Does coffee actually affect hemorrhoids?

Just start taking Herbalife capsules and you'll feel like a whole new person.

It’s honestly easier to deal with this when you see there are 26 pages worth of people talking about hemorrhoids... so here’s my small contribution. I work out three times a week and have no intention of stopping, even though doctors have been giving me a hard time about it for six months now, with just a one-month break. I used to exercise regularly before without any issues, so I’ve concluded that my digestion is just terrible—I go once every three days. After trying all those natural remedies and creams people suggest, including some stuff I ordered from Austria, I finally picked up some Viagra. It's overpriced as hell. I've taken seven tablets so far and plan to finish the full course of 14. In these first seven days, I can feel an improvement; the pain is gone and they seem slightly smaller. Once I finish the whole pack, I'll let you know the final verdict. The pharmacist recommended the Viagra, saying everyone raves about it. She also mentioned that if this doesn't work, surgery is probably inevitable. So, I'm taking these pills and praying to God I can avoid going under the knife.

There's no way I'm giving up my coffee.

I make it a point to exercise three times a week and I have absolutely no intention of stopping, even though those doctors have been giving me a hard time about it for most of this year, with only a brief month-long hiatus. I used to be quite active before, so I didn't run into these issues back then, which led me to realize that my digestion is basically non-existent—I'm only regular once every three days. After trying all those natural remedies and creams you guys mentioned, including some stuff I had shipped in from Austria, I finally decided to try Viagra (which, let's be honest, is overpriced as hell). I've finished seven tablets so far and plan to go through the full course of fourteen. In these first seven days, I can actually feel things improving; the pain has subsided and the swelling seems to have shrunk slightly. Once I finish the whole pack, I'll report back with the final verdict. The pharmacist recommended the Viagra to me, mentioning that everyone seems to swear by it. She also noted that if this doesn't do the trick, someone is likely looking at surgery. So, for now, I'm sticking to the pills and praying to God I can avoid going under the knife.

there's just no way I'm giving up my coffee

You might want to try Daflon; it's the only one actually registered as a medication specifically for veins and hemorrhoids, whereas everything else is just a supplement or some other auxiliary aid. Plus, it's significantly cheaper than Viagra—honestly, it's a steal at around $33 for a 30-count pack

Daflon? Honestly, I'm probably gonna swing by my doctor's office tomorrow and see if she'll write me a script... I need to be taking *something*... because this is getting ridiculous. I'll feel fine for two days, and then—bam—it's like someone just absolutely blindsided me right in the junk😕😕😠😠

Sigh... I finally sat through an appointment with my doctor today. He didn't even bother referring me to a specialist because he claims it’s a waste of time...
It turns out I have hemorrhoids—internal, though they're visible enough—and we're looking at stage one...
Honestly, damn these hemorrhoids. 😢

The doctor just handed me some suppositories and gave me the standard advice to keep the area clean... which is incredibly frustrating because I already do that constantly. How exactly am I supposed to manage hygiene while I'm stuck at my desk at work!?
I carry wet wipes everywhere I go; honestly, for years now, I've been lugging around these massive bags just so I can fit all my supplies inside...
So, here we are. I felt compelled to tell you all that as of today, I am completely overhauling my diet. I'm going to try to change everything from the ground up and see if there's actually any improvement...

And seriously, am I really expected to cut out coffee too?
Also, regarding this Viagra... is it something you need a prescription for, or can I just pick it up over the counter? And what about those Herbalife capsules... is there anything else worth taking?

And get this... I'm an avid cyclist, but now I can't even sit on my bike without agony. That hard saddle is pure torture. I feel like I'm going to kill myself...

God, freaking hemorrhoids... 😢

Anyway... I had to tell you guys that starting today, I'm overhaulng my whole diet... trying to change everything and seeing if that actually makes a difference...

And seriously, do I really have to cut out coffee too?
What about the Viagra.... can you get that over the counter or do you need a prescription... and those Herbalife capsules... what else is worth taking?

And get this... I'm an active cyclist, and now I can't even sit on my bike... that hard seat is killer! I'm gonna end up killing myself...

😢 😢

Kudos to you, rapidraven4, for actually going to the doctor. Was that just a general practitioner? Don't they check for that stuff too?
I finally booked an appointment with my doctor for the day after tomorrow—just a regular GP visit... honestly, I'm terrified someone's gonna find something way worse than hemorrhoids! It’s a toss-up between the actual pain and the pure dread that it might be something serious... plus, I don't even know what kind of hemorrhoids I've got... I can feel this thickening around the area and it feels like something's gonna pop out at any second 😠! No bleeding, though. I go once a day, early morning, totally normal—not soft, not hard, just a decent size (we're talking more like a thick cucumber 😕 than a toothpick), so hopefully it's nothing major... regardless, I've got that dreaded exam coming up 🤷
. Oh, and... if anyone knows a solid specialist in the area... I'm all ears.

Hey everyone,

So, I had my hemorrhoid surgery two days ago (this past Monday). I finally started eating again yesterday—had some honey on toast for breakfast, then meat in gravy with boiled potatoes for lunch. My doctors actually suggested taking some Miralax to help things move along smoothly for that first bowel movement. Well, huge mistake. It’s been an absolute disaster. I honestly can't even sleep because the pain is so intense; I can feel all this pressure building up in my gut, but whenever I try to hit the bathroom, it feels like everything is just completely blocked down there. I'm straining so hard it hurts like crazy—I swear, I feel like screaming. But nothing happens.

Does anyone have any advice? Like, what am I actually allowed to do after a procedure like this? I'm just waiting for the doctors to come by for my check-up so I can beg them for an enema. What do you guys think about that?

Please, if anyone has any tips, seriously, anything helps. Thanks, and hope you're all doing okay.
