Never watched that horror flick. Curious what you all think—is it even worth hunting down at a local video rental shop?

It’s a solid movie, but honestly, its popularity is mostly thanks to that incredible soundtrack by Goldsmiths. Either way, you should check it out

I'm not sure if you can even find it in our local video stores, but a guy I was talking to mentioned:
"The Omen? Huh? Is it something like Superman, or maybe that Hymn cartoon?"🙄
I actually didn't get a chance to see it until I was over in Germany.

I watched it on TV ages ago...

I heard a rumor recently that there were actually some fatalities involving the crew during the filming of that movie... 😕 I think there might be some mention of it in the DVD special edition, though I can't say for certain...

Does anyone here happen to know anything about that?

ps. I haven't bothered with the sequels... honestly, I don't even know how many there are...

Nah, there’s a fourth one too. I know because I've sat through all four. They're top-tier. Easily some of the best horror movies out there. Just pure terror—the soundtrack absolutely wrecks you...

By the way, has anyone else picked up that parody of The Omen by Neil Gaiman? Good Omens. It is absolutely brilliant and hilarious... very much in the vein of the Hitchhiker's Guide.

In the States, the title is usually translated as "The Betrayal," and I've actually seen quite a few places stocking it, so why not go ahead and enjoy it? 😲 👍

The thing is, what kind of quality are we actually talking about here? This movie came out on video DAAAAVNO. I’m thinking it might finally hit Blu-ray soon anyway.

He finally made it to the theater today... I have to admit, the movie was excellent, and if you ask me, it’s being seriously underrated...

So I finally sat down to watch it last night... and... well... let's just say it wasn't exactly... life-changing... 😳

Honestly, I’ll take Rosemary's Baby any day over this. 😍

Or The Exorcist. 😲

Maybe I need to give it another shot. Alone. In the dark. 🥳

It’s a solid horror flick, but honestly, it didn't hit me nearly as hard as Rosemary's Baby. Still, you can't deny Gregory Peck absolutely crushed his role.
Mike Patton really put his own spin on both musical themes for the Director's cut. 😁
I used to swear The Omen franchise was the absolute peak of horror, but I guess my standards have shifted over the years.
For instance, I’d call The Mothman Prophecies a great creepy thriller, while The Thing is basically the gold standard for pure terror. Most modern horror movies just fail to nail the atmosphere, mostly because the soundtracks are total garbage. That’s what gives The Omen franchise such an edge—the music does all the heavy lifting.
