Hey God, fellow racing junkies!
Since there isn't a dedicated Champ Car forum anymore, I guess you guys are my only hope, right?
Does anyone actually have a recording of the Long Beach race from the 18th (yesterday)?
I don't care if it's VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray—just send it!
Don't get me wrong, I love Formula 1, but man, CART is just pure insanity! You've got 750hp, mostly identical
chassis, push-to-pass buttons, slick tires, and these cars are absolute beasts. Everyone's running the Ford Cosworth XFE, plus you've got street circuits and road courses... it's seriously

So, what's the best way to catch an IndyCar race?
I was thinking maybe a digital satellite package might do the trick...

Digital satellite, hands down. Back when I was living in Europe, I used to catch Champ Car and NASCAR on those channels like AB Moteurs or MotorTrend.
Your best bet is probably just finding a cable package that carries one of those, or something similar that covers motorsports.

Yeah, sure, you can catch it on digital satellite, but only if you actually live
in the USA or Latvia (unbelievable!).
MotorTrend in Europe doesn't broadcast the races, so my only hope is
finding some replays, but the odds are slim...
That's why I'm hunting for anyone who might have a link where I could
just download the race itself.
I've been tossing a few posts over at www.paddocktalk.com but haven't found anything I don't already know.
Since I'm still pretty much a newbie at scouring the web, I'm wondering if someone
who actually knows their stuff can help me out—I'll pay whatever it takes...

Well, I actually made the trip, but I came up empty-handed.🙄

To be honest, I’m not entirely sure we were even speaking the same language; when I approached a couple of folks to ask, they just handed me flyers for various comic book clubs, and the third gentleman actually gave me a brochure for tractor oil.

You went looking for IndyCar and ended up finding your way to a strip club instead—honestly, sounds like a massive win to me!👍 I had a similar experience while wandering around the Czech Republic once (not that I was actually looking for trouble, mind you). I ended up on this side street where two young women practically jumped out at me, shouting things about smoking or blowjobs for a few bucks... it was quite the scene. 😁 That trip to the Czech Republic definitely left an impression on me, though it looks like you might need to head over to Latvia next to keep the streak going.😁

It seems ESPN has officially pulled the plug on broadcasting Indy, Champ Car, and NASCAR. Earlier this year, I actually caught a Champ Car race listed in the schedule—well, in the newspaper, at least—for the season opener in Long Beach. I turned on the TV expecting action, only to find a game of billiards instead. A quick check of the teletext confirmed the news: the race wouldn't be aired due to legal issues. Thanks for nothing, I suppose.
