I’ve personally tried both laser treatments and that enzyme hair removal method mentioned in the article.
Whoever claims laser doesn't hurt is a total liar! It hurts. But honestly, I’d endure just about anything to finally be hair-free. When I first looked into laser, they told me I’d only need three sessions. After I ended up having to go way more often than planned, they claimed "latest research" shows you actually need closer to six. 😠
In my case, it turned out to be roughly three sets of six sessions. 😠 😠 😠 I don't even want to think about how much cash I burned through—it cost way, way more than I ever budgeted for. At least it worked. The hair is gone (okay, one stray hair popped up recently, but maybe I’m just being a perfectionist 😁).
As for enzyme hair removal? Total waste of time for me. Absolutely nothing changed, and I basically threw a pile of money down the drain.

Now I have a question. Since I can't afford laser for my entire body, I’ve been stuck using traditional waxing. My skin is incredibly sensitive, and I'm starting to see a web of broken capillaries appearing on my legs. I tried electric epilators too, but it's the same story. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this or prevent more from showing up? Shaving is definitely not an option.

Just kidding. 😁

I'm joking.
Leg hair is a never-ending struggle...
Since I don't exactly have the kind of bank account needed for those fancy laser treatments... waxing is pretty much my only option. Though, honestly, it feels a bit better knowing that probably 99% of women are going through this too. A collective, universal struggle...🙂

Larry Cruz51, you want my number or what?

Enzyme epilation didn't work for me.

Can you elaborate? I'm still hunting for the perfect method for the bikini area—and maybe armpits too.😁

The thought of needles honestly terrifies me.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this (or stop new ones from popping up)?

Well, you can always go for laser to "burn off" those capillaries.

But is it really smart to pay for waxing just to spend more on treatments to fix the mess the wax left behind?

Enzyme hair removal — I tried this about four years ago, and honestly, the specifics are a bit fuzzy now.
Basically, they wax you first, then smear these enzymes onto the areas where the hair was pulled. It’s some weird process where they use these metallic tools attached to machines to rub the enzymes into your skin (the link explains the technical side of it). For me, it was a total wash. My hair grew back at the exact same rate as if I’d just gone for a standard wax—not thinner, not lighter, nothing. Even though the aesthetician promised otherwise. Later on, she tried to upsell me on this "new and improved" super-enzyme that was supposedly a game-changer. Naturally, it came with a massive price tag.
I was using it for my upper lip, and just to be clear, I don't have any hormonal issues and the hair wasn't even thick or long. I just wanted to stop the monthly waxing cycle because my skin is incredibly sensitive; I'd end up breaking out in pimples and dealing with redness for days.
As far as I'm concerned, it was just a tax on idiots. 👎

thanks 🙂

And what's this enzyme supposed to actually do? Slow down growth? Make the hair thinner?

Yeah. And after a few sessions, the growth should theoretically taper off. I don't know, look into it—maybe their tech is actually better these days. Personally, I’d suggest going the laser route instead (just keep in mind you'll likely need way more appointments than they lead you to believe). Oh, and for laser to even work, you really need to have dark hair 🙂

Well, I definitely fall into the dark hair category 😉

I’m actually looking for something specifically for the bikini area 😳 (my legs have been smooth for ages)

I tried laser once, and honestly? Never again.

Lately, I’ve been going to this lovely girl’s place—she actually used to run her own boutique salon before transitioning to working from home.

She handles everything for me, including $33(brows, legs, bikini area),

And she is just so incredibly efficient and quick that you don't even have time to think about any discomfort. It's all done for

$33.

😁 😁

Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to get laser engraving done here in the States? Ideally, I'd love to find a shop in Seattle if possible. Thanks! 🙂

But honestly, what good is that if your salon is all the way over in Germany...

Anyway, most women getting these kinds of treatments here in the States aren't exactly thrilled with the situation. I’m planning on making a quick trip out there soon and I am totally prepared to drop some cash on it, but frankly, not if the prices are just going to skyrocket again...

I mentioned in my first post that I haven’t worked in the US—but since you were still hunting for a phone number, I figured I'd just jump right over to you 😉

😵

My mistake... I completely missed that.😳

I'm scheduled to start electrolysis in about two weeks. When should I expect to see if it actually worked? Should I wait a month or two to see if there's no new hair growth?...

placidjackal97, did you only go in for one session?

Harold Gomez65, regarding the laser treatments, I know where they have them in Miami and Washington, D.C.... there's probably a salon in Seattle too, likely that one that runs all those heavy advertisements...😁

Can anyone tell me where I can go to get laser hair removal done here in the US? Ideally somewhere in Seattle.

I think I heard that in Seattle, your best bet might be the Tagora clinic—if I’m remembering correctly—over in the suburbs; I know it's a private practice run by a pretty well-known doctor. Honestly, I was just explaining this to 🙄 😁:
A doctor once mentioned to me that when it comes to laser hair removal, you really ought to go to a specialist who actually studied laser technology. It matters—I mean, it really does—because the intensity levels (whether it's wavelengths or whatever the technical unit is) have to be handled precisely. She suggested I probably shouldn't just trust some aesthetician who maybe just took a quick weekend course on how to operate a specific machine.
That same doctor told me that in the US, the only truly reputable centers for laser hair removal are the Clinic on Šalat and that Tagora facility out in the suburbs!

Laser stings. That's a fact. But it's manageable—it's not like being hit by a truck. At least it's a permanent fix, unlike waxing. 😉

Spot on. I had an experience like that where the doctor was working on me and I felt absolutely nothing. I told him, "Doc, this feels weird, there's zero sting." He checks the settings and tells me I'm lucky I spoke up, because he realized the machine had been set to a much lower level after he used it for something else earlier.

P.S. I did this with a specialist in 🙂

Yeah, you should pretty much see results within a month.

Hardly anyone just does one session—they explained to me that since hair doesn't all grow at once, the growth cycles are all over the place.

So if you notice hair appearing after the first round, it might not be the same hair coming back—it could just be the ones that were dormant finally surfacing.

The pros at the clinic will give you a much better breakdown of how it works.😉

That's why they usually suggest waiting a month and a half to two months before the next appointment.

Larry Cruz51—one session wasn't enough for me, but by the second time, the hair was barely there and super thin.

So, I’ve done laser three times now—costing me about $200 per session (totally ripped me off!)—and honestly, I'm just terrified the hair is going to grow back and I'll have wasted all that cash. If they can finish up my next session soon, that would be great. I did the bikini area... it hurts, but you can handle it—thankfully it's quick. During my first visit, the intensity was way too low—hardly felt a thing—so about 80% of the hair came right back. But sessions two and three? Much better results there. One heads-up though: they aren't exactly thrilled to do laser if you have a tan, mostly because they're scared of messing up your skin pigment. Plus, you really shouldn't expose the treated areas to the sun for at least a month after. Now, can someone please just comfort me and tell me the hair isn't coming back...🙂

$650 so far just for a bikini wax 😲

I feel bad—don't want to rub it in, but I'm hurting for you.

They ended up doing my entire leg for a slightly larger shape last time.

I really don't want to make you feel even worse about it.

They actually did my whole leg for just a little bit more than that once...

Living on an island is such a scam—everything is easily three times the price of the mainland, but I guess that's just how it goes.

Back in November, I decided to undergo a laser hair removal session on my arms...

The end result? My skin was covered in bumps, there’s absolutely zero visible difference in hair growth, and I’m still left staring at these white patches from scarring...

My takeaway here—and please, listen closely—is to be incredibly, deeply careful about who you trust with those lasers. You have to ensure they actually know what they are doing...

I honestly can't say if I'll ever pull the trigger on another treatment again. Even if I were to look for a different clinic, I'm just not sure. As for this specific place? Not in a million years!
