Jesse Ortiz4 said:The cold, hard truth is that Americans are totally incapable of making anything original,
so they just scavenge ideas or straight-up rip off other movies.

Then they dumb everything down to suit the average American audience.

well, obviously not just for stupid Americans—they're doing it for stupid Irish people and stupid Chinese people too.

I found watching the film quite interesting, especially since things didn't exactly go according to plan. I guess that non-linear structure felt a bit similar to Irreversible, and they even share the same cast.

Am I really the only one who found this movie boring and exhausting? 🤷

The first time I watched it, I actually fell asleep. The second time around, I was just irritated because the setting felt so forced—it was anything but authentic.

And the plot? It didn't help at all. In fact... (see my note below)

Here I am! I didn't actually fall asleep—though that’s only happened twice in my entire life: once during *Lord of the Rings* (the third one) and once during Wong Kar-wai's *2046*.

The only thing is that Bellucci is stunning, but honestly, that just wasn't enough for me...

And the American version is even stupider—giving us that happy ending and all that slow motion, like we're stuck in some cheesy MTV music video... jerk!

Finally. Now I don't feel quite so misunderstood. Thanks! 😁

And give my best to your whole city! 😉

As for the slow motion scenes—I've never been a fan, and this movie was basically one long, drawn-out sequence. If you can even call it a plot. Sorry, fans! It's just me! And Charles Davis88. 😁

Robert Cooper41 said:"The Apartment" is such a phenomenal film... honestly, one of my absolute favorites! Monica Bellucci is incredible, but in this particular movie, she truly just completely outshines Roman Bohringer.

My absolute favorite🙂
I found myself watching it last night, though I honestly can't remember how many times I've seen it by now.

Wicker Park is total garbage—it’s the kind of failure that shouldn't have even happened. There should be a law against remaking certain films, especially when those remake ideas originate from Hollywood.
I mean, seriously, a remake and with whom? Diane Kruger and Josh Hartnett?🤮

In The Apartment, the chemistry between Bellucci and Cassel is thick enough to cut with a knife, not to mention the sheer magnetic energy they both bring to the screen.
Even the atmosphere, the script, the way the characters unfold... I don't recall ever watching a film where I felt absolutely nothing was missing, a work that felt truly perfect, but I experienced that for the first time while watching The Apartment.

Comparing Wicker Park to The Apartment is like comparing American junk food to fine French cuisine—they aren't even in the same league.

Personally, I liked Wicker Park better, and besides, there isn't much of a difference between those two movies when you look at the ratings on IMDb. Since when did you become some kind of film expert or critic, deciding they can't even be compared? For me, Wicker Park wins—but let's be real, neither of these are masterpieces. They aren't going to be ranked among the greatest films ever made.🙄

Look, I'm certainly not claiming to be some top-tier film critic or an elitist, but I am offering my perspective, and based on my own taste, Wicker Park feels like American junk—artificial, lifeless, and shallow. It reminds me of junk food that's been mass-produced in a factory without any soul, lacking flavor or character, just a cheap copy designed purely for profit. You simply can't compare it to a gourmet delicacy from a French kitchen enjoyed on a sun-drenched terrace in the summer. That’s the first analogy that comes to mind whenever someone mentions Wicker Park, so forgive me if I view a movie you enjoy—especially one that's just a remake—as total garbage.

Alright, different take here.😉

But something is bugging me, and most people seem to have it wrong. Food? Hellooo? Americans don't just eat fast food—even if everyone thinks they're all overweight—so do you really think they don't have their own specialties? Honestly, I hate those stereotypes about Americans. I don't love them, but I don't hate them either. And just because fine dining originates in France doesn't mean the French are inherently "better" at food. Even if the US won a few recent culinary competitions, it doesn't mean the French aren't still far from their former glory. Everyone has their own signature dishes. It's the same thing when we sit around mocking how stupid Americans are—helloooou! There are 300 million of them; of course the media is going to highlight the idiots that make for easy TV. Such lazy assumptions.

But hey, a movie is a movie. If you like it, cool—but for me, this original by😛
