And an Anthropology subforum? Seriously? These topics don't even belong under psychology, they're straight-up science. It makes zero sense...

I’m not even sure if "psychology" is the right word for it, but I constantly run into these issues regarding interpersonal relationships (and I don't mean in the context of Ljes, the USA, or RiD -> though it usually ends up being one of those). Maybe it’s worth looking into something along those lines.

Yeah. Like, intra-personal and inter-personal stuff... 🙂

Maybe we could just call this forum people ? It would leave room for all those subcultures we used to talk about (when there was actually space) and a million other things.

The real bummer, though, is probably that people don't focus as much on the actual field of psychology as they do on just being human...

😁😁 You all have some great ideas, really, because let’s be honest—there isn’t a single corner of this place that feels accommodating enough for the kind of heavy topics we've already started touching on.

But since it looks like nothing is actually going to change around here anytime soon, I figure it’s perfectly fine if you just start dropping your questions and topics over under Meta12’s thread regarding Value Systems in psychotherapy—let's just treat that specific topic like its own little sub-forum😉 within the philosophy section.

I don't think anyone is going to lose their mind over it, and even if someone decides to throw a fit, we'll just find a way to smooth things over, especially since we've already kicked off so many discussions in that thread anyway.😉

So, yeah, there it is.😎

Honestly, looking at how much time I spend scrolling through this forum, I can’t help but think that the sheer psychology of this place—and the behavior of everyone lurking here—would be an endless fountain of discussion topics. I would truly love to hear what people actually think about the sociology of this community and the underlying psychology of its members. I mean, why wouldn't we dive into the sociology aspect too? The Sociology and Psychology section, Society vs. the Individual... it’s all interconnected and just as vital to the conversation.

On a more practical note—if we’re being sane about it—I think if anyone wants to kickstart a new movement or topic, the best way to go is to just start a thread over in the General Discussion area. Once those threads gain enough momentum and we have the actual evidence to back it up, then we can make a real case for demanding their own dedicated sub-forum.

Hell yeah they are. That’s exactly what I’M TALKING ABOUT 😎
By the way, if we want to get things moving, I think it’s best to just start new threads (like in the General section), and once they pick up steam, then we’ll have the leverage to demand their own dedicated space.

I finally figured out why that General section is such a joke. First off, none of this psychology or sociology stuff is actually "general." It’s not random junk. And second, that section is buried way at the bottom, and I don't even bother scrolling down that far.

Nah. I just opened a thread titled "Middle-Class Mentality." It definitely belongs under the Sociology subforum. For real. That whole attempt you guys made to act all smart by trying to predefine our suggestions into "natural" versus "social" sciences? Yeah... turned out to be pretty pointless... 😎.

So, instead of just embarrassing yourselves all over again... 😁Hey, can we just rename the social sciences subforum to "Society"? It’d be way better. That way we actually have a spot to hash out all those sociological phenomena and random stuff that doesn't strictly fit under the umbrella of formal science...

As for psychology... honestly, that whole spirituality thing just feels like it’s pulling me right back toward it... 🙂He's got plenty of room to go pick that thing up, right...

PS. Honestly, if we actually had a dedicated spot to host these kinds of debates all in one place, I bet it would spark some seriously massive improvements from the admins, the mods, and everyone over at the Vulgaris forums...

If people actually took a second to look in the mirror and own up to how they act, all that petty bullshit—the small-mindedness, the sheer lack of class, the snobbery, the straight-up stupidity... you name it—would pretty much vanish. It would shrink down to almost nothing. Honestly, if we could just cut out that nonsense, this whole forum could actually turn into a freaking paradise... 🙂.

Sure, I’d probably just call him
the PSYCH (you know, covering both psychology and psychiatry)

John Walker74 said:Alright everyone....

Let's skip the formalities and just be honest!

ARE YOU IN FAVOR OF A PSYCHOLOGY SUB-FORUM?

No response is even necessary; you can probably feel the benefit of having a dedicated psychology section within those brilliant minds of yours..

😁 🙂

And you'd probably end up being the moderator!🙄

That's how it works... people just invent "jobs" for themselves...

People always follow their own interests...

Such vanity...👎

AGAINST!

Such massive egos...👎
I'M AGAINST IT!

😁. So tell me, where does it itch for you?

I’m strongly against this, because I think it’s just going to cause nothing but trouble.
I don't think this forum is the right place for it... besides, there are plenty of other spaces where we can discuss these same issues.

What kind of headache?
😕

Like what, specifically?
Look, a forum is meant for people to trade different perspectives...

There are always going to be issues on a forum when it comes to that...
It just comes with the territory.

That’s how it always works... they just go around inventing "official" roles whenever it suits them...

People only ever scratch where it hurts, don't they?

God, am I being petty...👎

I say NO!

Honestly, isn't it just great that this topic has resurfaced?

🙂

Ehh... maybe I am being petty!

What, you think I’d just take everything for myself and leave absolutely nothing for Rebecca Miller2.......?😁😁!

So, some random damn thought just popped into my head yesterday. And then what? Should I just dump it in some random section? This whole shitty forum is split into a million pieces—you've got relationship stuff, single life, women's corner, men's corner, social sciences, whatever... it's everywhere.

And yet, we still don't have a dedicated Psychology subforum. Seriously, what the hell? We need psychology here as much as the ground needs water. Or like, as much as the sun needs to shine.

Look, what I’m asking from you wise guys running this forum, and even the big shots upstairs, is to actually listen to what most people here want—and honestly, even those who haven't realized yet how much they're gonna love it. Just open a new subforum called

"The Individual and Society"

If you look closely, you'll see this isn't just some dry social science thing. It's like how you don't go to a lumberyard to talk about physics, or hit up a political rally to discuss sociology.

I'm telling you right now, standard social sciences aren't gonna cut it for what we actually need on this forum.

Thanks.

Look, since this topic used to be huge before the forum gods decided their petty little grudges were more important than actually having a useful space here, I’m asking those same "gods" to chill out for once and look at a much bigger concept for a psychology subforum.

Because psychology isn't just some narrow field—it has to cover our day-to-day grind and all those weird questions we hit with as we navigate life. For real, this isn't philosophy, and it's not even strictly the kind of psychology that acts as a scientific discipline; it’s more like what you’d call the art of living.

If we had that, the admins could actually learn how to tackle different life problems and find actual solutions. Instead, we get this same old repetitive bullshit where everyone just talks about swallowing crap.

Because damn it, Anderlon, you just swallowed the crap. Whether you wanted to or not, the fact is right there. And this forum's transparency is ruthless. Everyone needs to take a second to think about this instead of rushing into things... because you're the ones who are gonna pay for your own stupidity.

Hurts, doesn't it? 😁

First off, we need to clear up the confusion between psychology and psychiatry.

Look, psychiatrists are medical doctors. They go through medical school and then specialize. Psychologists study psychology. Psychiatrists can prescribe meds; psychologists can't. When it comes to diagnosing issues, that’s really more of a psychiatrist's job. That’s why I suggested a psychology subforum... please just take that into account.

Giving advice to someone struggling with neurosis by suggesting they take a sedative like Xanax might be medically sound, but it definitely doesn't fall under the umbrella of psychology.

Psychiatry is a medical field. Maybe it would make sense to rename "Health" to "Medicine" and keep it there, then specifically open up a space for psychology.
