God, save us from people making claims like that. It's terrifying. If you don't have actual advice to give, at least have the decency to stay quiet instead of scaring everyone.

feralbadger6 said:I’ve got these red patches popping up all over my body, specifically on my arms and stomach. Right in the middle of them, if you look really closely, there's this tiny white dot—maybe about the size of a dime? They feel kind of hard to the touch and they itch quite a bit. I guess it looks like an allergy, or maybe just a reaction to some mosquito bite...

Now, you might be wondering why I don't think it's just a simple bug bite. Well, both of my daughters and my husband have them too. And I was chatting with my neighbor earlier, and it turns out she has them as well! She thought it was just an insect bite, but hers has been sticking around for a while now. During our talk, she mentioned that two of her relatives who were visiting from St. Louis yesterday showed them too, and they look exactly the same... and they aren't even from around here, plus we haven't shared any meals or anything with them.

It’s been lingering for a while. It itches pretty bad on the first day, and then maybe not quite as much after that, but the spots just won't go away. I tried using some Hydrocortisone, but I guess that didn't really do much.

I'm looking for some advice, please. Just, please, don't tell me "just go see a doctor." I mean, I probably will, but honestly, sometimes when our doctors see something like this "minor" thing, they just brush it off and say it's nothing... but I'm really not happy about us all having this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, 🙂 but honestly, getting a professional opinion is your best bet. When it comes to skin issues, there's no substitute for someone actually seeing it in person. And make sure you emphasize to them that this isn't just an isolated incident!

Ugh, great—now I’ve got this random breakout on my hands too. It's like these tiny little spots all over my arms, right near my palms on both sides. And they itch like crazy. Honestly, I have zero clue what caused it.

Over the last few days, I've been breaking out in hives all over my body whenever I eat anything.
I received a couple of injections a few days ago, but everything just flared up again by the second day.
Yesterday, I didn't even eat, yet the allergic reaction still showed up.
I've been taking Claritin every single day, but it isn't helping at all.

Today, my doctor told me I need to go on a diet—specifically, I have to avoid proteins and carbohydrates.
But since almost every food item contains one or the other, I'm wondering what I can actually eat? How am I supposed to structure a meal plan like this??

Thanks! 👍

Well, it finally happened, and honestly, I’m not the only one... Just do yourself a favor and type urticaria into Google, then just click on the first, second, or third link you see. 👍

So, Saturday morning rolls around, and I wake up with this tiny rash on my arms. Figured some damn bugs bit me in my sleep, whatever, it cleared up by the afternoon. Later that day, I'm sipping some cough syrup (since I've been dealing with a cold for 2 weeks straight). Head out at night, grab 2 beers, hang out with a friend for 2 hours in like -10 weather. 🙏 Freeze my ass off, get home, hit the sack.

2.
Wake up at 6 AM and everything is itching like crazy. Figured those freaking bugs got me again, so I get up, deal with all the usual crap, brew some tea, and see the exact same shit—the rash from yesterday, just spread out a bit more. My mom says it can't be bugs, gotta be an allergy. 🙏 I was like, what kind of freaking allergy? I've never been allergic to anything in my life. 😕 Oh well, though, getting ready for my trip, college starts Monday. Around 8 PM, fever hits 101, coughing my lungs out, no way I'm making it to class, probably the flu. (this part actually cleared up in the meantime) 🙏

3.
Monday morning, fever's 102, and that arm rash is back. Hit the doctor's office in the afternoon, wait 2 freaking hours, and the rash has mostly faded away. She gives me some crap for the flu and tells me if the allergy doesn't stop, come back tomorrow—but only once it flares up again so she can actually see it. Also told me to go get blood work done. 🙂

4.
Tuesday, I wake up and my mom looks at me like she’s gonna faint. Allergy flare-up all over my neck and face, swollen eye and stuff. Wait until the afternoon when the doctor is in, head over there, get some Claritin (supposedly for allergies), and she tells me I need a strict diet (like, just tea for 2 days, then toast on the 3rd). I was like okay, btw, my labs came back and the only thing high was the marker for bacterial infections (probably from the flu).

5.
Wednesday, rash is on my neck, body, and arms. I'm sticking to the diet, taking the pills, and that's it.

6.
Thursday morning, same damn shit, nothing's getting better. Go back in, they give me 2 injections 🤮 and send me home. Injections my ass, it cleared up just as fast as usual (maybe 5-10 hours).

7.
Woke up today and nothing, just two little spots on my arms, thought I was finally over it. 🙏 By 6 PM, it slowly started coming back and now, as I'm writing this, I am covered in freaking rashes; face, neck, arms, legs, back, stomach... allergies are hitting me hard. 🤮 Oh yeah, haven't had a fever since Tuesday.

So, it can't be food because I was on nothing but tea for 2 days and it didn't help at all. And the allergy meds aren't working, nor were the injections.

Hey, does anyone know what could cause this or how to stop this madness? 🙏 It itches like hell and it's driving me nuts, I look like I was rescued from a house fire 5 years ago. >>

EDIT: Oh, yeah, my doctor also told me to rub some Hydrocortisone on it, so I did, and that's also total crap.

I can't give you a straight answer, other than saying I just roll my eyes when doctors try to fix every single skin issue by slapping on Hydrocortisone or some other scary corticosteroid cream. They're super risky.
Besides, if this cold of yours is dragging on this long without getting better, your immune system might be struggling, or maybe you've got some kind of bacterial infection messing with your blood and causing chaos on your skin.
Since your doctor is being pretty superficial about this and the Diphenhydramine isn't doing squat, it’s definitely time to go get a second opinion.🙂

It’s entirely possible your mother swapped out the laundry detergent for a different brand, which could be triggering an allergic reaction, or perhaps you've started using a new soap or body wash lately?
Alternatively, did you pick up any new clothes recently and wear them without washing them first?

That's what I thought, laundry soap is the same, shampoo and gel too. 🙏 >> as for the new clothes, it was just one shirt, but I haven't even worn it in 4 days. 😢 Been thinking hard about what else it could be and nothing comes up, even changed my sheets and everything. Dammit... 🤮

Have you been taking that stuff non-stop? It's possible you might be sensitive to one of the ingredients! 🤷

Quit right after the second day (totally because I thought it was causing it) 😢

You might just be one of those unlucky people who deals with spontaneous dermatitis that seems to come out of nowhere...
Go see a dermatologist and get some actual testing done.
I went through the exact same thing—sudden itching all over my legs a few years back for no apparent reason—until I realized it was my laundry detergent and those scented shower gels. Turns out, I’m allergic to fragrances and pretty much anything containing them.

For now, try bathing with just water for a few days and see if that makes a difference. 🙂
Also, pick up a scent-free, dye-free laundry detergent, something like Neutral (if you can even find that where you live).
Anyway, start there and see how things progress. 🤷

Urticaria?

Look, allergies don't just clear up that fast... might be worth considering if it was actually something you ate or maybe even just the weather...

Fast? It's been 8 days. 😕 And it hasn't fully cleared up yet, but it's hitting way less spots now. 🙂

Also, wtf even is urticaria? 🤷

I'm not starting a new thread, I'll just use this one. 😁

So, I think I've got an allergy. Over the last month, it's happened a few times—always in the evening, at night, or right after being around something from outside. Just massive coughing fits.

Last night was a perfect example. I stepped out onto the balcony for about half an hour, came back inside, and shortly after, the coughing started. Tons of mucus, a brutal cough that makes my chest and back ache like I have pneumonia, and this wheezing sound when I breathe. It went on for about two hours.

It’s fine now.

It happened once when my dad came home from outside, and another time when I pulled a blanket over myself that had been sitting out (late at night, both things). Every single time, it's the same damn coughing and wheezing.

Question one: Does this sound like an allergy to you guys?
Question two: Since it's respiratory stuff (I can breathe, I'm just coughing my lungs out), do I need to see a doctor?
Question three: Even if I don't need a doctor, is there any point in getting allergy testing? Like, is there actually a benefit to knowing what I'm allergic to? I really don't want to be on meds.
Question four: What is it that shows up at night but isn't there during the day, and what time of year does this usually happen?

Yeah, that’s definitely an allergy... you should go see a doctor and get some allergy testing done... though honestly, those standard skin prick tests aren't always the most reliable. I'm allergic to just about everything—food, grass, bacteria, dust, you name it—but my traditional tests came back completely negative. It wasn't until I tracked down a specialist in San Francisco that I actually figured out what was triggering me. He uses bioresonance testing, and the best part is that he can actually treat you using the same device... if you're looking to avoid medication, that's really your best bet.
Just Google "bioresonance" and you can read up on how people use it to identify and manage allergies. You can find doctors who specialize in this in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, or even small towns like a little village outside of Austin, and even over in Austria. I'm living proof that it works....

Honestly, just take some Synopen, Solu-Medrol, or Dexedrine—toss them all in one pile and deal with it, and that urticaria will finally clear up...
Seriously though, you really shouldn't mess around when it comes to this stuff..

Question number two: since these are basically just respiratory issues—I mean, I can still breathe, it’s just this constant coughing—do I really need to go see my doctor?

A cough is often the very first sign that anaphylaxis is kicking in..
Next thing you know, you're struggling to breathe...
Then comes the respiratory failure..
And eventually... death..

Just grab your injections and go. You don't need to wait for a doctor appointment—just get yourself to the ER.. They'll know exactly what to do.
