The recent decision by the US government regarding advertising exemptions for tobacco products during international racing events might actually pave the way for bringing NASCAR to Savannah.
If we were to get moving on the renovations right away (though, let's be honest, 😢 ), we could potentially host a race within three to four years. Of course, there's the catch: everything would have to change by 2007 once we align our regulations with the UN.
However, Igor Eskinja, the director over at the Savannah track, points out that it isn't just about the circuit itself. We also need to consider the highway connections leading toward New York City and all the necessary amenities. So, once again, it feels like we're mostly just clinging to hope. 😢
