Based on what was said, that product messes with your hormone balance.

Yeah, but honestly, most weight loss stuff and those "anti-cellulite" gimmicks do the exact same thing. Like those cellulite pills—something with "cel..." in the name, I can't recall—where the fine print basically admits they could crank up your thyroid activity 😲 👎. So, weighing the risks against the actual benefits? Not exactly a hard math problem. 👎

None of these weight loss pills can be any good in my book. I'm convinced the only way to lose weight "the right way" is just hitting the gym harder and actually fixing your diet.

And regarding laxatives: if I ever felt like I needed one, I’d much rather stick to the old-school home remedies—dried prunes, fruit, whole grains, stuff like that. The issue with all those commercial laxatives is that they eventually stop working and actually make things worse in the long run; so don't just rush out and grab the pills.

Just to be clear: I'm not anti-medication—I'll take antibiotics if I need them and all that—but I really think weight loss products are pretty much useless (and often sketchy), plus you already saw my take on the laxative situation...

I don't know the first thing about those capsules, but if we're drifting off topic for a second, what do you guys think about healthy food combining?
Maybe that’s actually the smarter play—just being mindful of how we eat, mixing things up, and keeping everything as natural as possible?
It’s basically that method by Dr. Hay. There’s even a book by Jackie Habgood called "Healthy Food Combining." It isn't quite like
Zone, but it's heading in a similar direction.

- Just because something is plant-based doesn't mean it isn't "active." Some of the most potent poisons on Earth come from plants. It’s the same deal with medicine—there's a razor-thin line between a cure and a toxin (take digitalis from the foxglove flower, for example). Even salicylic acid used to be extracted from willow bark, though we synthesize it now. When people say "plant-based," all they're really saying is that the product lacks the precision, exact concentrations, and specific chemical makeup of a synthetic version.

- Looking at these tablets, I'll quote what it says right here:
"Metabolism capsules naturally replenish GLA in the body, ensuring the synthesis of sufficient amounts of prostaglandin E1, thereby supporting optimal metabolism and faster breakdown of fat stores."

The way I read that is: the substance in these capsules is an analog designed to mess with your prostaglandin levels.

Why would a healthy person feel the need to take analogs just to shift their prostaglandin balance? Personally, I wouldn't touch it...

Andrew Anderson6 said:Exactly. And honestly, most weight loss products or those "cellulite fighters" are just as sketchy. Like those cellulite tablets (something with "cel..." in the name; I can't recall the exact brand). The fine print says they can trigger hyperactive thyroid function 😲 👎—so weighing the risks against any supposed benefits isn't exactly rocket science. 👎

None of these quick-fix pills are actually safe. In my opinion, if you want to lose weight "healthily," there’s really no substitute for hitting the gym harder and fixing your diet.

As for laxatives: if I ever felt the need for that kind of help, I'd stick to old-school home remedies like prunes, fruit, or whole grains. The massive issue with commercial laxatives is that eventually, they stop working and actually end up making your gut health worse than when you started. Don't rush to the pharmacy for a pill first.

Yeah, I totally agree. Why on earth would anyone risk messing up their hormones for the rest of their lives just to deal with cellulite? I think that specific supplement is called Cellasen... it goes by a few different names depending on which country you're in. From what I understand, it's loaded with iodine, among other things, which forces the thyroid into overdrive. That spikes all your metabolic processes and raises your body temperature. They call it "metabolism activation," but it's far from harmless. Anyone with a natural thyroid condition already has enough to deal with without adding this chaos to the mix.

Cellasen😲

Aren't those the most popular capsules on the market right now for fighting cellulite?😲

I honestly have no clue... I know there are a bunch of different names for it... but with all those "miracle" supplements out there, I’m pretty sure I read something about iodine. Apparently, you can end up with way too much of it. At the end of the day, even if it doesn't completely wreck your kidneys, you might still think it's doing wonders for your blood pressure and renal health when it's actually not.

And since you're naturally built like a little sprite—your kidneys are running perfectly and your body temp is a steady 98.6°F🙂—you're probably burning through oxygen like crazy. Just be careful not to over-oxidize yourself.🙂

They are—but funny how none of the ads mention a single side effect. I actually asked my aunt at the CVS to grab the insert first so I could read the fine print, and apparently, there's iodine in there that can trigger hyperthyroidism, heart palpitations (you know, the whole thyroid mess), and anyone with thyroid issues needs to be super careful and blah blah blah...

Whatever, I guess I'll just live with my cellulite.

Does that mean my lifespan is shorter? 😕

Luckily, humans aren't mice or turtles.🙂 If you were a mouse, I’d tell you that you'll definitely live a shorter life than a turtle, mostly because on top of having shorter telomeres, you're also dealing with much higher oxidation levels.
But you aren't a mouse,🙂 and honestly, nobody knows exactly how long you'll live. Maybe a really long time... it all depends on a massive variety of factors, like genetics, pure luck, and so on.
So don't sweat it too much.🙂

😁 It goes something like this: smaller organisms, higher body temp, faster heart rate, shorter lifespan 😁 😁

That’s what a buddy told me to cheer me up when my Tachycardia hit 160 bpm. It was a thyroid thing—plus I basically run at a constant 99°F anyway—so his big takeaway was basically, "Congrats, you're turning into a hummingbird." 😁

I'm dealing with Tachycardia myself, too. 😲

And tell me this,
can you even enjoy eating whatever you want, Andrew Anderson6, when you have absolutely no appetite?

Can you actually eat whatever you want, Andrew Anderson6, without it making you feel sick?

Yeah,😁 the only upside is😁 I'm also way too high-strung...

Btw, my hormones are hitting the upper limit right now, and I’ve got this cyst—won't even get into the details because honestly, the sensation of needles poking at my neck is just gross.🙂 Regardless, that thing (the cyst) goes wild whenever my PMS cycle hits, which means dealing with all the usual horrors—hunger pangs, Tachycardia, you name it.

But it feels the same as when it used to prick me; once it settles down, things are fine again...

Ugh, don't even get me started on those frantic hunger pangs...🙄 I find myself scavenging from the pantry anywhere from seven to fourteen times a day... just grabbing things in secret from the back of the cabinets...

There are so many different weight loss pills out there on the market these days, some being pretty mild while others seem way more dangerous. I was wondering if anyone here has actually tried Metabolism and what the experience was like regarding how it works? Does it cause any side effects? Is it actually doing something, or is it just all marketing hype and smoke and mirrors?

Which pills have you found to be the most effective without being too hard on your body? Personally, I wouldn't recommend Reductil because it really messes with your hormonal balance.

asa... stop overthinking things and stop eating so much... you want to lose weight right away, so just do it...

besides... aren't you embarrassed about letting yourself go and being so overweight????

What exactly is Tachycardia? What kind of symptoms should you look out for?

I haven't had a chance to catch up on all the posts yet, I just can't keep up 😁
Just to add to everything else mentioned here (the stuff I missed), Natural wealth offers these small little tablets—there are 250 in a bottle, wow—something called Papaya enzyme, I think. It claims to kickstart your metabolism and help break down fats.
But honestly, let's focus on the real work: hitting the gym, going for runs, or even just sprinting to catch the bus. Personally, I make sure to climb nine flights of stairs at least once a day (today I did it three times! Go me!), and that will help you out even if you lose your appetite for everything like I have. 🙂
Even when it comes to chocolate.
Doctor, what is wrong with me?😢

Basically, Tachycardia is just when your heart starts racing—we're talking over 100 beats per minute.

The smell is still lingering.
What does that actually mean?

It’s probably nothing to worry about, but theoretically, it could be an issue with a nerve. If it keeps up, you might want to go see a neurologist just to be safe...
