The US Soccer Federation really needs to put together some training sessions on line positioning—you know, the basics of "soccer referee geometry."

What are you even talking about? You fans just scribbled some math lines on a napkin and called it a day.
I had five, so let me break it down for you.
A line runs between two points—in this case, those two last defenders from the Seattle Sounders.
You draw the line through them; if they’re out in front, it’s no offside, but if they're behind the line, then it is.
Math is an exact science—you can't just start drawing lines based on guesswork like some guy trying to mow a lawn with a broken mower.

Regardless of whether you look at the lines on the pitch or just watch the replay, that disallowed goal for the Seattle Sounders looked completely clean to me. At this point, there's no use arguing about who's to blame.

But see, that’s the whole damn point—those lines themselves and how incompetent they are at drawing them correctly.

I mean, what if it actually *was* offside, but they ended up tossing out a perfectly legitimate goal because their "tech" looks like something a middle schooler scribbled together in MS Paint?

It's not even just that they're biased against the Sounders; it's that they draw these crooked, amateurish lines or, God forbid, they track the wrong player entirely. Like, remember that one play where they had two players involved—one in black, one in white—and they basically swapped them and called an offside on the wrong guy? It’s ridiculously easy for them to mess up.
