goldentinker8 said:Ufff, man, what an amateurish and totally missed mark of an analysis! Seriously, how do you even get there?

First off... you're comparing apples to oranges here! Sure, San Diego has been winning stuff lately, but let's be real—success breeds hype, especially when a team isn't fighting just to stay afloat. It's like the Bay Area is living through its absolute golden era right now. It’s like our old glory days back in '99... back then, we'd pull 8,000 people easily. Now, when the team is scraping the bottom of the table, it's just not the same draw as a team fighting for a spot in the big leagues like they are in the Bay Area.

Secondly... you aren't just counting 1,900 people watching San Francisco games. You have to factor in all the traveling fans from the big rival cities who show up whenever they play the local team. Just adding those die-hard away crowds bumps that number up by like 6,000 or 7,000 people alone!

Thirdly... our numbers dip every single game, and honestly, I have no clue why that happens. So, even if the actual average is sitting around 5,000 right now, it doesn't matter... because if you catch that massive wave of euphoria hitting the Bay Area like it's hitting San Francisco right now, that average jumps to 7,000 or 8,000 before you can even blink! So, if we're talking a real comparison, we're looking at maybe 1,500 versus 7,000 or 8,000, and buddy, that is a massive, gaping difference!

As for everything else... thank God the local ultras don't try to take over the whole city every time they play the rivals, or man, things would get wild real fast!🤣 👍

Oh, so I'm the one comparing apples to oranges?
Back in '99, we were literally in the title race until the final week. Compare that to a team like Portland today—they're having their best run ever and they're sitting 7th out of 10 teams. It's historical success compared to the usual bottom-tier struggle.
The reality is, compared to your actual fan base potential, you guys are currently basically...
It's not even a disgrace, really.😉

Oh, absolutely... You are literally comparing one club's absolute worst nightmare of a season against another club's peak historical run! You're totally mixing up grandmas and bullfrogs here... And honestly, even without factoring in the rival fanbases, the gap is already massive. If we had that kind of winning euphoria back in our home city, we’d have 7 or 8 million people flooding the streets and traveling by the thousands to every away game, but hey, you know that, don't you? I can practically feel those butterflies churning in your stomach from here!👍

Look, over the last decade since privatization kicked in, you guys have only had one single season where you hit the 5,444 mark—everything else has been sitting well under 5k. Honestly, it’s probably for the best that you've stabilized your average attendance and aren't swinging wildly every time the results get shaky. And frankly, the numbers for the local team aren't nearly as embarrassing as what neonorca38 is trying to make them out to be. Back in the 90s, you guys actually had that legacy from the old national league and enough breathing room to let a real fan culture grow. Something a club like the local side just hasn't had.

Look, Istra's numbers aren't shameful at all if you actually take a look at the competition and the size of the city we're talking about... they're pretty much on par with places like San Antonio, Indianapolis, or maybe Cincinnati. If anything, San Antonio pulls the biggest crowds relative to those cities because they aren't being cannibalized by huge fanbases from Dallas or Houston like the others are! For instance, people won't even let you guys show up in numbers big enough to matter. You see the true scale of a club's fanbase when that massive wave of euphoria hits the whole city, but unfortunately... well, Americans just don't seem to have that kind of stadium culture, right? The only real signs of that starting to happen lately have been over in places like Seattle... Before, back in the day, whenever something big happened in our town, the crew would just pack up and head out by the hundreds or even thousands to whatever city was hosting—whether it was during the old days or the early 2000s, those are just facts! Nowadays, our boys can never pull more than 20 or 30 people for an away game, or maybe 50 to 100 for a cup match. And honestly? Every other local group has the exact same struggle. Any argument ends the second someone tries to trash the local supporters, especially when the crew follows all kinds of different sports too. Man, why even lie to ourselves? It feels like you guys are just dying to prove that folks from San Antonio are total losers, but I gotta ask... compared to who, exactly? ☕

It’s not even worth mentioning.
I was just thinking back to what neonorca38 said about Demon's numbers being low—but honestly, they aren't even that small when you compare them to what we see over in the Philly area.

That’s a lie. More Demons show up to a friendly match in Verona than Uncut does to play the Heat in Miami.

Oh, come on now... They are absolutely tiny! They’re several times smaller, you just don't want to admit it, right? Since we're already playing the comparison game, look, we had about a thousand people out in Pula, and honestly, they wouldn't have even sold us more tickets if they could! Their turnout is going to be somewhere between 50 and 100 people. Can you imagine? Total euphoria in the city against our biggest, closest rivals—direct competitors! It’s their first chance at a massive win against the most hated team in history. It’s basically like if we all headed down to a stadium in Florida to face you guys while we're riding this high, and you were stuck in the exact same spot Pula is right now. We’d have 3,000 or 4,000 fans unloading on you, and you know it too... I really don't get why you're trolling this hard on such an obvious point! 🤣

The issue is that readers aren't using their subscriptions; people are just sneaking in through the side doors instead of following the rules. I don't know if the readers are the problem or if the subscription codes are just poorly managed, but it's irrelevant. Plus, when a subscription is physically printed, every third issue goes unread. It's the same situation in the East and North; I can't speak for the West.
The club knows about the issue, but nothing is going to change this season.

I never said the numbers were small; Mr. Gary Cooper3 was just explaining the reasoning behind them. You're imagining things again, your focus is slipping...
There’s definitely a reason why attendance at stadiums like the one in Miami, or especially in New York or Chicago, seems low compared to the total city population. However, we don't have actual data on how many fans live in the city versus those traveling in from out of town, so commenting on it is pointless. I’d love to have those stats so we could finally debunk some of these myths.😁

I honestly don't get the hype surrounding this sudden euphoria. Sure, they’re picking up points bit by bit, but let’s be real—they were fighting just to stay out of the relegation zone until last year. This "seven wins and three draws" undefeated streak isn't the miracle people think it is. The league is pretty mediocre right now, which is why they suddenly look like they have a slim shot at qualifying for Europe. But anyone who actually follows American soccer knows that for a team like this, making a European run is a massive long shot.

If we set aside the Cup final for a moment, this really is the biggest opportunity this club has ever had to break into European play, simply because they have so much momentum behind them right now. That’s likely why the excitement feels so much more intense.🍿

Yeah, doing a deep dive analysis would be pretty interesting. If you look back over the last 15 years, most teams see their averages grow incredibly slowly—it's not just about winning one game or having a good streak. It’s much more about how much a club actually works to build a community around itself, which, let's be real, most teams in the league aren't doing at all. Take a team like the Portland Timbers, for example—they have huge potential, but when ownership keeps shifting from one shady guy to another, it's almost impossible for fans to actually feel a connection to the club.

And what part of that isn't clear to you, man? Seriously... at some point, the hype just hits! It’s not the same feeling for fans in a city like Portland as it is for the Hajduk crowd when it comes to the title race, you know? It’s not the same for them aiming for Europe as it is for Istra or San Jose. It’s not the same for a team fighting for promotion to the top flight as it is for Istra... everything has its own vibe. But honestly, I just can't wrap my head around how you can have so little respect for a group of fans who, during their absolute peak—their best moment ever—show up for the biggest away game against their most hated rival, a chance to knock them right out of Europe, and they still can't even fill up the stadium? For real, what kind of situation is that? To me, that doesn't carry any more weight than a local supporters' club, but hey, if that's how you see it, cool. Let's just end the debate right here. 👍

They outclass the Funcuts in every single metric of fandom. Just look at the away game presence. Look at the messaging. Compare the visuals, the choreography, the sheer energy of the chanting, even the banners. In every category, they’re in a different league entirely. The only thing keeping them neck-and-neck is those minor away attendance numbers—not that the Funcuts are any more consistent, often skipping trips or showing up without even a single banner. Is there anything else left to debate?

Give me a break, man. All those ultra groups playing politics with their fandom are just for kids. Nobody actually cares about them.☕

A real visit is measured by social media shares today. Those are the numbers that actually matter.☕

Just look at the birthday celebrations for Demon and Funcut—you can clearly see where the real supporters are and where they aren't.

When it comes to raw numbers, a city like Portland has about 650,000 people while somewhere like Savannah has around 145,000. Sure, Portland might have an edge since more people there follow the big local team compared to Savannah, but the sheer population size still favors Portland.
And honestly, look at some of those Funcut basketball games; they’re easily on par with Demon’s energy. 👍

It seems to me there's no logic here, just pure bitterness toward Savannah and the Funcuts driving this. I say let both groups grow. Let local pride flourish and finally put an end to all these artificial territorial disputes. 👍

Can you believe what John Kim wrote?

It’s clear the hatred you folks in the North harbor for the Demons is blinding you; you’re writing from such a bitter perspective instead of showing an ounce of objectivity.
Zero objectivity here. You're trying to manipulate the narrative through your inferiority complex regarding the Demons. Honestly, nobody would be happier than me if 300 Funcuts showed up to every away game against the home team in Seattle. I’d sign that deal in a heartbeat. As for the streets, I’ve had my best fights alongside the Funcuts. But everything else I mentioned stands. You’re coming at me with comparisons to basketball? Look, the Funcuts are mediocre at basketball, too. Just watch their matchups or their trips to play teams in Miami. It’s subpar and doesn't even compare to the Demons. Why is it so hard for you all to admit? We'll end this topic here, but it's obvious from miles away who is speaking from a place of pure insecurity.
And one more thing. You actually think there are more local fans in Seattle than in Savannah? Don't embarrass yourself. There isn't an active sub-group of the main fan club in the whole region, whereas the Savannah contingent is one of the leading groups in the South.
The sheer amount of nonsense you write, and then you have the nerve to claim people are just making things up out of spite.

There is no hatred toward the Demons. The only thing that bothers me about them is how much they suck up to the Warriors fans, that's it, nothing else. I've said it a million times already. 👍 I think it's an embarrassment to San Francisco and to the Demons themselves.

Look, we’re being totally objective here, while you guys are clearly letting bias run the show! What we’re saying is just the straight facts, plain and simple. Now, as for what you're claiming? Well, I can't say for sure that you aren't being subjective, but let's be real—it feels pretty biased from where I'm sitting, don't you think? We can talk about this topic with total realism because we don't have any skin in the game over in Miami, and honestly, we couldn't care less about what happens there unless we're just messing around! But you guys? You've got everything to gain from what's happening in Savannah, and you're always looking at it with those hungry eyes because, let's face it, you actually *can* grab it for yourselves. Your whole goal is basically an occupation, whereas we have zero interest in doing that to Savannah. All we want is for them to finally shake you guys off so they can just breathe easy and enjoy some actual freedom! I really hope I managed to make it clear why you absolutely have to take our word for it on this one. Cheers 👍
