What you're looking at isn't actually an update. It’s basically just giving permission to run test add-ons for developers, plus that line right above it about sending tech data over to Mozilla—which most people already have turned off. Only those of us who actually kept that setting disabled ran into those blocked add-on issues over the last few days.

Actually, no—I've had that enabled the whole time, and yet my add-ons were still getting disabled anyway... 🙂
